I donât think it's models, is social media influencers and celebrities that reproduce damaging beauty standards, models are people who we don't even see posting much, like the more private you are the more exclusive, you only see these women on runway shows they donât be online much. I see models as mannequins for fashion and clothes, like is a job, period.

The models aren't the problem, its that we aren't teaching teens that comparing themselves to others is the problem. I think the fact that these teens are angry or feel wronged by the modeling industry and think models are ''complicit" stems from insecurities that arent the model's fault.

personally, modals dont make me feel insecure, but it is definately a toxic industry for the modals themselves, as it's basically based upon rejection and looking a certain way. The modals are chosen for the way they look, and not their personalities and if they are kind people or not.

I love how this video is framed thy aren't discrediting each other but just discussing a topic, in some points i was shocked because for me, as a teenage girl, models actually give me confidence; in social media there's a set look and set body type that's considered beautiful and just seeing how diverse models can look and how the features i thought were "ugly" can be on a couture show or model in Paris fashion week. it makes me happy seeing people that look like me that have unconventional and unique features like me be considered beautiful. In some ways Models have taught me to embrace who i am and be uniquely me and not chase the look of someone else they are my inspiration.

Iâm sorry but as a teenage girl, I HATE girls like ruby and just any other girl who believes that models are harmful or the beauty industry in general. If you are insecure because you see a beautiful and/or skinny woman who works out,takes care of herself,practices self care to maintain her beauty then you are the problem. It is not their fault that you are insecure and thatâs something you need to work on yourself. If you look at a model and think âoh I need to look like that sheâs so skinny and pretty thatâs what people wanna seeâ then maybe get up and do something about it instead of nagging about how there isnât models who look like you, the beauty industry is the BEAUTY industry for a reason and they do not need to be inclusive to everyone, I said what I said. If you are insecure when you see a model, then go work out, go diet, go take care of yourself instead of getting upset at the model for being what you arenât. As someone who has looked up to models like Candice Swanepoel,Alessandra Ambrosio and Heidi Klum, when I saw them, I did think âwow they are so beautiful, theyâre blessed to look like that, I wish I could tooâ but I did not get upset because they made me feel insecure because they didnât, they made me motivated to begin to eat healthy and exercise and practice self care. That is how you should respond. If you are so easily offended or insecure when you see a model then the model is not the problem, it is you and your mindset.

Teenage girls to educate themselves more if they think that is what they need to strive to be. They need to know why models are they way they are for their jobs. Models are not role models, there job is to sell clothing and objects.

As a teenage girl, I NEVER looked at models the way Ruby did, âif she is skinny I should tooâ. Um why would I? Just because someone is? Thats your own insecurity. Im not saying I never had ed or something but it was not because of someone, blaming people bc of ur own insecurities its weird. Someone set a standard and some people do nor fit but like its okay. Same with barbie dolls because there was a problem with it, when I was 6 playing with dolls never wanted to looked like them bc i was a kid and barbie is a grown women. Idk i feel watching this.

Its true though the modeling industry does affect girls in a negative way. However not everyone wants to look like a runway model some want to look like a kardashian for example. It depends where in the world the beauty standard is. I find that to be more of white people want to be really thin and tall.
