Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about two players that could leave the club as change to the squad continues
Pep Guardiola believes that Oscar Bobb wants to leave the club with Fulham looking to complete a deal for the Manchester City youngster. Bobb broke into the team in the 2023/24 campaign and started the first Premier League game of this season, but his stock has slumped since then.
Guardiola wanted Bobb to be more incisive in the box and hooked him at half-time of the Champions League game with Leverkusen, where City suffered a poor 2-0 home defeat. Having been left out of several matchday squads after that, the Norwegian returned to the starting lineup for the league cup quarter-final with Brentford but came off injured after just 20 minutes and has not been seen since.
City’s manager was terse when asked about the situation in Bodo last week, saying that the player ‘says he is not fit so he’s not fit’ and that he had ‘no idea’ about his future. Fulham are interested in signing the 22-year-old in the January transfer window on a permanent basis, with the Blues hoping for a deal around £30m.

Guardiola spoke generally on Saturday after the Wolves win about his belief, given to him by his mentor Johan Cruyff, that a player can be injured if they want to be injured. Asked specifically about Bobb, he said that he did not have any new information but that he thinks the player wants to leave.
The City boss was also unable to say that Bernardo Silva will remain at the club next season, with his contract up in the summer. Silva, who was appointed captain by his manager last summer, said in October that he has already made a decision on his future but is not ready to communicate it in public.
“I would love for Man City, for myself as well for Bernardo to stay forever,” said Guardiola. “But so we spoke a lot with Bernie and Bernie has to decide the best for him, his family. Whatever happens this season, next season, in 10 years, he will remain one of the greatest players that this club has had in its long history.”
