As numerous Premier League teams start to circle, a Leeds United transfer target has seen discussions over a new contract come to a halt.

Since a half-time switch to a back five against Manchester City, Leeds have been like a team reborn under Daniel Farke. The German, showing an increased level of tactical flexibility, has overseen a remarkable run with the Whites, who have lost just once in their last 11 games across all competitions.

With a gap, however slight, formed on the bottom three, Leeds are pushing to ensure that they remain in the Premier League. Playmaker Facundo Buonanotte has joined the club on loan from Brighton as Leeds continue to be linked with further additions to their squad.

With under ten days of the transfer window remaining, Leeds have now been touted as a team who could make a late push for one of the top flight’s stand-out performers.

Leeds closely monitoring Wilson’s contract situation

Having played well over half of the 2025/26 campaign, Fulham sit seventh in the Premier League table after 23 matches. A key component to the Cottagers’ form has been Harry Wilson who, this season, has been incredible for his team.

Wilson’s last-gasp free-kick goal against Brighton was the latest in a long line of sublime finishes this season. With eight goals inside 22 appearances, the Welsh international has already notched what is a career-best tally of goals in a Premier League campaign. Following that 2-1 win over the Seagulls, as per The Guardian, Fulham boss Marco Silva lavished the 28-year-old with praise, saying:

He’s been incredible for us. I am repeating every week that he is in the best moment of his career.”

Wilson’s form, rather unsurprisingly, has attracted a number of suitors. This, combined with the fact his contract is due to expire at the conclusion of the season, means that multiple Premier League clubs have a keen interest in the winger. As per CaughtOffside, Leeds United are one such team, with contract discussions between Fulham and Wilson having “been temporarily paused”.

Leeds have long been linked with Wilson, with the Whites even exploring a last-minute deal in the summer to try and sign the Welshman from Fulham. January signing Buonanotte is comfortable playing as either a right-winger or number 10, an archetype that is immensely similar to Wilson’s and something that Farke had long been seeking at Elland Road.

By only signing Buonanotte on a loan until the end of the season, Leeds have kept their doors open for a permanent addition to their squad. In Wilson, the Whites would be signing an exceptional Premier League talent who would become, surely, a guaranteed starter in West Yorkshire, though it is clear that Leeds will have to battle with several of their top flight rivals for the Welshman’s signature. It remains to be seen whether a deal is agreed, but Wilson would be a statement addition.
