5 Emmerdale spoilers as Cain hits breaking point and an arrest for double murder

It’s set to be another week of drama in the Dales…

Viewers know by now that it’s never a quiet week in Emmerdale, and the Yorkshire-based soap has promised a year of explosive drama following on from the Corriedale crash..

With Ray Walters and Celia Daniels dead, their reign of terror over the village is still ongoing as Bear Wolf struggles to come to terms with his part in killing Ray.

As Graham Foster makes his return to Emmerdale, Kim and Joe are at a loss for words after being so certain that he was dead over the last six years.

Cain is set to face a huge battle as he receives his cancer diagnosis, seemingly facing it all alone in a special episode that will explore his inner conflict and feelings.

Moira is charged with double murder…

Moira and Cain are shocked to be arrested for murder in front of their children. At the Police Station, Cain remains tight-lipped throughout his interview. Throughout her interview, Moira maintains she was set up by Celia but is stunned when DS Walsh reveals that one of the bodies was Celia.

Moira begins to panic when she realises the sheer amount of evidence stacked against her. Cain is released without charge. However, after speaking to his solicitor, Caleb relays the devastating information that one of the bodies was shrouded in Moira’s blanket, causing a raging Cain to refuse to return home without his wife.

The ordeal culminates when DS Walsh reveals Moira’s DNA was found on the blanket Anya was buried in, and Moira is gobsmacked to be charged with both Celia and Anya’s murders.

There is devastation in the village…

Chas, Cain, and Caleb are devastated to see Moira being carted off to a police car as she tells Cain she’s been charged with double murder. Cain visits Moira in prison and when she enters sporting a black eye he is visibly thrown and anxious.

Cain receives his diagnosis…

Cain’s nervous as he awaits his appointment and speaks to a patient with prostate cancer. His consultant, Ms. Rhodes, confirms that Cain has aggressive, yet localised, prostate cancer. Overwhelmed by the diagnosis and the potential side effects of the recommended radical prostatectomy, Cain cuts the consultation short and leaves. Cain returns to the village in a daze as he struggles to process his diagnosis.

His mounting denial and anger cause him to clash with anyone who comes across him and he is keen to be left alone with his inner demons.

Cain reaches breaking point, yelling at both Sarah and Liam about his overwhelming burdens and exiting in a state of fear and anger, unable to contain his emotions any longer. Later that day, Cain sits alone at Zak’s graveside, struggling to cope with his diagnosis.

Bear is questioned over Anya…

Ruby, overwhelmed with guilt about Anya, encounters Paddy. She lies to an angry, fearful Bear that the ribbon he left for Anya “worked” and they think she has been found. A distressed Bear Wolf recalls Anya’s final moments, mentioning that Ray tried to help her, but Ruby bitterly lashes out, declaring Ray deserved a slow, horrible death.

Seeing Bear breaking down over his guilt, Paddy shoves Ruby out and slams the door. Paddy and Dylan are troubled when DS Walsh arrives for a chat, worried that Bear will accidentally reveal his part in Ray’s death.

Walsh questions a confused and emotional Bear about Anya, and he reveals that he dug her grave for Ray. Paddy panics and cuts the interview short when Bear becomes distressed and confused about the blanket that Anya was wrapped in.

Elsewhere in the village…

Gabby and Lydia are shocked to find Graham in Home Farm. Joe and Graham decide to get ahead of the rumour mill and prepare to make a public appearance in the village, revealing Graham to be alive.
