Patient taken to hospital after A19 crash near Thornaby
The collision happened at around 9.34am this morning (January 28), on the A19 northbound’s junction with the A66 near Thornaby.
One lane was closed and there were lengthy delays of up to 30 minutes.
A spokesperson from AA Traffic said: “One lane closed due to crash on A19 Tees Viaduct Northbound from A1130 Acklam Road (Mandale Interchange) to the A66.”
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed one was person was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 9.34am on Wednesday 28 January to reports of a road traffic incident on the A19 northbound’s junction with the A66 near Thornaby.
“We dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene and transported one patient to James Cook hospital for further treatment.”
The road has now reopened.
