Designer Spotlight: Valentino – Julia Berolzheimer
Valentino is one of those designers I consistently return to because the pieces bring so much personality into my wardrobe. The craftsmanship stands out immediately with embroidered textiles, jacquards, lace, and intricate embellishment that add depth and dimension. Each style feels distinctive, yet timeless enough to wear for years, which is why Valentino is worth the investment.
Looking through the Cruise and Spring 2026 collections, I kept taking screenshots and saving them to my photo folder. So many pieces stood out. Embroidered jackets, paisley prints, feather accents, and decorative accessories appeared throughout, adding a layered, expressive feel. A few highlights include the paisley set, the striped raffia bucket bag, and the feather-trimmed paisley blouse. The printed set makes a statement worn together, but each piece also styles well on its own.
The small jacquard shoulder bag has been my most worn accessory lately. The tapestry-style pattern adds just enough interest, worn with everything from silk trousers to denim and knit. It’s quickly become one of the bags I reach for all the time.

Splurge Monday’s Workwear Report: Amor Ribbed Silk and Cashmere Midi Dress
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Every working woman needs at least one outfit in her closet that she can throw on after a long night and know it will look great without too much thinking. For me, it’s usually a dress, and lately, I’ve been loving sweater dresses with a little bit of structure, like this one from Gabriela Hearst. I like the seam at the waist, and it looks like the mid-weight knit would be really comfortable.
Add a blazer if you want, and you’re ready for just about anything.
The dress is $1,890 at NET-A-PORTER and comes in sizes XS-XL.

Your guide to clinical skincare on a DIY budget
Clinical skincare has evolved. What once required appointments, consultations, and significant expense is now far more accessible. Science-backed ingredients and targeted formulations are no longer limited to treatment rooms. With the right knowledge and a strategic approach, you can achieve visible, professional-level results at home without paying clinic-level prices.
What clinical skincare actually means
Clinical skincare refers to products formulated with evidence-based ingredients designed to target specific concerns. These formulas are typically:
- Backed by research or clinical testing
- Focused on measurable results
- Built around effective concentrations of active ingredients
- Balanced to maintain skin safety and barrier health
Clinical does not mean harsh. It means intentional, precise, and results-oriented.
Many modern brands now bridge the gap between dermatologist-inspired science and consumer accessibility. Medicube is an example. The line focuses on performance-driven formulas that address skin texture, pore congestion, and uneven tone without an in-office procedure.
While your inner beauty addict might prefer to experiment with new and interesting skincare products randomly, they’re best used within a thoughtful skincare regimen. Here’s how to create one in seven steps.

1. Define your primary concern
Clinical skincare works best when you focus on one goal at a time. Trying to treat everything at once often irritates your skin and wastes your money.
Ask yourself:
- Is my priority acne control?
- Am I focused on pigmentation or uneven tone?
- Do I want smoother texture?
- Am I noticing early signs of ageing?
- Does my barrier need repair and strengthening?
Choose one issue and build your routine around that. Precision reduces cost and confusion.
Read next: Fading acne scars: 14 best treatment options
2. Understand the core ingredients
Professional treatments rely on proven ingredients. The good news is that many of these ingredients are available in over-the-counter products.
Here are some key clinical staples:
- Niacinamide. Supports barrier repair, reduces redness, balances oil production.
- Retinol. Encourages cellular turnover and supports smoother texture over time.
- Vitamin C. Brightens, improves tone, and protects against environmental stress.
- AHAs. Gently exfoliate to refine texture and enhance radiance.
- BHAs. Help clear pores and reduce congestion.
- Peptides and ceramides. Support skin structure and strengthen the barrier.
Clinical results come from consistent, appropriate use rather than extreme strength.

3. Build a focused routine
A simple, twice-daily regimen with basic products can be effective — often more effective than complicated systems that layer too many actives or rely on overly strong formulas.
Morning routine
- Gentle cleanser
- Antioxidant serum
- Moisturizer
- SPF
Evening routine
- Cleanser
- Targeted treatment
- Moisturizer
4. Support your barrier
It’s counterproductive to chase clinical results while neglecting the health of your skincare barrier. When your skin barrier is compromised, even high-quality actives will not perform well.
Signs your barrier needs support include tightness, sensitivity, redness, and stinging.
If this sounds familiar, shift your focus toward hydration and calming ingredients before reintroducing stronger treatments. Clinical skincare should improve resilience, not weaken it.
5. Introduce technology thoughtfully
Professional clinics use light therapy, radio frequency, and other devices to enhance results. While at-home tools are more moderate, they can support product absorption and circulation when used correctly.
Choose one tool that aligns with your goal rather than investing in multiple devices. Use it consistently and according to instructions.
6. Stop overbuying
Marketing can make every launch feel essential. That’s why you may have tried many products and stuck with few. Breaking that cycle is essential, because discipline and consistency deliver better results than serial experimentation.
Before purchasing, ask:
- Does this directly support my main goal?
- Do I already have something that performs this function?
- Will this replace or duplicate an existing step?
Invest in the right high-performance product and you should not need to upgrade to the next big thing.
7. Commit to a realistic timeline
Give your routine at least 12 weeks before judging its effectiveness. Also, track progress with photos rather than relying on memory. Subtle improvements are hard to see in the mirror.

The financial advantage of strategic skincare
By focusing on targeted actives, avoiding unnecessary extras, and maintaining barrier health, you can realize your skincare goals efficiently — without the need for costly consultations and procedures. Whether you’re looking for smoother texture, clearer tone, or stronger skin, aim to achieve those goals with informed decisions and consistent application. Your skin doesn’t need a waiting room to thrive.
