Why you speak like that? One word very loud then another word very quiet so annoying

funny that all "pi 4/5 alternatives" were always much more expensive in here and RPi 5 4gb always was 65€ same as Zero2 being 18€

    Edit: Pi 4 1gb still is 39.99 and 2gb model 45€

    September 27, 2024 at 4:03 am

Popularity of RPI is for it's community support, not for performance.

I'm going to need two orders of magnitude more storage than the onboard eMMC. I don't think the copper SFP+ modules on my switches are even backwards compatible with 100 megabit ethernet.

Right now, an RPi 4 with 4GB is only $2 more expensive on Amazon.

Thanks for the info. My Pi4 died (from sun heat) as it was installed on my old car, controlling locking, engine start-stop,air conditoner, remotely from phone and entertainment for the back seats screens. So,as this one consumes less, is an advantage for me ,being able to not worry of depleting the battery if the car is not used 2-3 days.

Pis have notoriously terrible power management, im not surprised. Also the zero with its single ARM11 core is utterly useless today.

I’m horrifed when I see such an advertising! Sorry, I’m from Europe and we do not use so much garbage to prepare a food. So much paper and plastic to eat something that we put in a glass jar to reuse it many times! Awful and stupid, I can not tell it another way. Sorry!

  17. @photoniccannon2117

The Cortex-A35 is VERY underpowered compared to what's going into modern Pis. Ultra low power usage, yes, but the performance will not be even remotely in the same ballpark.

  22. @purzifal

stop buying raspberry pi's off amazon, your over paying all the time to compensate for amazons seller fees

  23. @bulevartz

Use mini PC+linux, like dell, hp, lenovo. Super cheap, 10x faster than any Raspberry. Low power consumption

  25. @tibordigana2551

All these competitors want to earn some money but it is funny because they are based on Cortex-A35, A-55 or A-72, even without cooler and with DDR3 RAM – single channel. These are all obsolete processors. Nowadays it is the time whether the future would be based on Broadcom, Qualcomm or Neoverse and especially ARMv9.

  26. @DamjanDimitrioski

    September 27, 2024 at 4:03 am

70$ for 4gb memory is too expensive? Where digital ocean prices 4 gb memory for 24$. So, you will ROI in 3 months. How much cheaper can you get? How Khadas VIM1S 60$ for 2gb is cheaper?

  27. @JamieBainbridge

    September 27, 2024 at 4:03 am

imo Raspberry Pi have never been a good self-hosting option 😅 I've used them since the first one in 2012. Unreliable sdcard, fussy power input, no power control, many silly PCB implementation choices. They're good for getting kids and us nerds tinkering with programming in a zero-consequence environment, which was their original goal. For me, Raspberry Pi is the breadboard of computers, it's what you prototype on before using a real computer.

  28. @myself248

    September 27, 2024 at 4:03 am

The Mali GPU and onboard eMMC reminds me of a Beaglebone with more RAM.

Oowow looks sweet for bringup, but network-aware preboot environments generally make me nervous. If this thing gets deployed in a role where its whole job is to stand between my network and the outside world, the last thing I want is a scenario where a power glitch or something might end up presenting the keys to the hardware kingdom on a network interface with no security whatsoever.

When you start planning your ultimate home theater an important aspect to consider is where you will set up all your home theater equipment. If you have separate components and multiple gaming consoles, you’ll find that you might need a considerable amount of space. One of the best ways to house your gear is in a commercial-like equipment rack. These types of racks have been used for decades in data centers, studios, concert halls, and high-performance home theaters. We like them because they are very easy to service and make changing things out as you upgrade super simple. This video will go over how to plan out your ultimate rack setup and give you some tips that will help make you really proud of the outcome.
