10 Heaviest TV Shows of the 20th Century, Ranked
The beauty of visual storytelling is its ability to elicit a specific reaction while watching a film or series. Though we may expect to laugh at a comedy and cry at a drama, certain projects may go beyond the base emotions through emotionally heavy content and themes. It’s those works that really manage to resonate and leave a lasting impression.
When it comes to emotionally heavy TV shows of the 20th century, these 10 shows have given viewers emotions beyond what they expected. From burdensome feelings to overwhelming sensitivity, these series have been known to be emotionally taxing. From moments of rich nostalgia to moments of societal issues, stories of war to tales of trauma, these shows pack a punch.
10
‘The Twilight Zone’ (1959-1964)
There are certain genres we tend to watch because we know, deep down, that it’s not real. Whether it’s science fiction or horror, they’re a source of guilty-pleasure escapism. Except sometimes, when those stories get a little too close to home, our fears reach something raw inside. At the top of every episode of the original run of The Twilight Zone, host Rod Serling welcomed audiences to boundaries beyond our imagination. In the original five-season run, the standalone episodes pushed those boundaries with disturbing, unusual tales that made the surreal feel real.
Blending psychological horror with our darkest fears, The Twilight Zone was an unrelenting series unafraid to unsettle us. Across its 156 episodes, The Twilight Zone brought stories of existential dread and isolation, fear of the unknown, and the existence of monsters in our own backyard. It was the ones that felt too real that were the scariest. And when you’re scared, that’s when the viewing experience is difficult. The groundbreaking anthology series has far too many exceptional episodes to name, but perhaps the ones that resonate most with our deepest emotions include Season 5’s “Living Doll,” which tells the story of Talking Tina, and Season 1’s “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street,” which highlighted the paranoia of a suburbia where suburbia neighbors turn on one another. Though the reboot series has certainly had its moments, nothing can beat the terror of the original black-and-white phenomenon.
9
‘The Wonder Years’ (1988-1993)
Sometimes it’s remembering our past that evokes the richest emotions within us. While we may revere nostalgia, that same nostalgia can sometimes bring out the heaviest feelings. If there was one show rooted in nostalgia, look no further than The Wonder Years. The hit series follows Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage), a teenager growing up in a suburban middle-class family in the late 1960s and the 1970s. A true coming-of-age story, the series is framed through the narration of adult Kevin (Daniel Stern) as he remininisces about his family, including his father Jack (Dan Lauria), mother Norma (Alley Mills), siblings Wayne and Karen (Jason Hervy and Olivia d’Abo), his best friend Paul Pfeffer (Josh Saviano), and childhood crush-turned girlfriend, Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar). Though Kevin’s story may not exactly be ours, The Wonder Years reflected on the good ol’ days, making us wish we could relive the moments that made us.
A slice of life comedy, The Wonder Years, was built around emotional attachment. Sentimentality and sincerity, The Wonder Years was profound in hitting home. From tear-jerking moments to gut-wrenching episodes, the series tapped into themes of death, heartbreak, and the loss of innocence. The Wonder Years was a universally poignant piece. From Kevin losing his math teacher, reflecting on how a mentor can shape a young life, to Jack telling his son that, after a breakup, he wished things could get easier, The Wonder Years was unafraid to make you cry. It’s rare that you can get through the show without a box of Kleenex nearby.

‘M*A*S*H*’ (1972-1983)
Inspired by the 1970 film of the same name and the book by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H* brought viewers back to the Korean War while they were dealing with the horrors of the Vietnam War. The war drama was an ensemble piece about a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Uijeongbu, South Korea. Balancing both broad comedy and tragic drama, M*A*S*H* brought viewers straight to the horrors of war through a lighthearted lens. So, when something traumatic occurred, the heartbreak was immensely felt. And that’s not just in regard to saying goodbye to the series, which was the most-watched television broadcast for decades.
With many stories based on real experiences of real MASH surgeons, the series was quite profound. Bittersweet farewells are often expected on television shows, but one of the most emotional character deaths in television history came when Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake (McLean Stevenson) died when his plane was shot down. For some fans, it was a moment they didn’t believe they could recover from, but it was a reality for a show about war. Death was imminent. Even in the finale, viewers were hit with an emotional punch through Hawkeye Pierce’s (Alan Alda) “chicken” story. From start to finish, M*A*S*H* refused to shy away from difficult topics. With war as the backdrop, there was simply no way to tiptoe around it. How audiences took it truly allowed the series become an allegory for the times they were living in.
7
‘Hill Street Blues’ (1981-1987)
While police procedurals have evolved since the debut of Hill Street Blues to go deeper and darker, what Steven Bocho and Michael Kozoll created was a series that pushed the genre into a new direction. Hill Street Blues followed the lives of the Metropolitan Police Department staff of a police station located on Hill Street. Though it occurred in a non-distinct U.S. city, its universality made it resonate even further. For seven seasons, the series stood out for its gritty, realistic portrayal of the men and women in blue. Long before NYPD Blue and Law & Order, Hill Street Blues tackled themes ranging from murder and rape to drug abuse and prostitution through quite a bleak lens. It was also lauded for its inclusion of African-American characters to address racism and interracial and interethnic cop partnerships.
The series was filmed in a nearly documentary style, with handheld camerawork and disjointed editing, giving it a fast-paced, real-life feel. The ensemble-driven series wasn’t centered on crimes; the psychological strain, personal struggles, and ethical dilemmas of the officers were major plot drivers. With an authentic feel, the tone instantly contrasted with the pristine and glamorous cop shows that came before and ran alongside it. This was not a series you watched as escapism.
6
‘The X-Files’ (1993-2002)
There was quite a void in the world of terrifying science fiction thrillers that left a lasting impression after The Twilight Zone. Then FOX, a relatively new network, tried its hand at a daring, risky show, and television was forever changed. Created by Chris Carter, the original run of The X-Files was groundbreaking for its subject matter, tapping into our deepest fears through the supernatural, paranormal, and conspiracy theories. The series followed FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigated marginalized, unsolved cases. Focusing on solving what really is the truth out there, The X-Files entertained through its monster-of-the-week format.
Though a mystifying blend of psychological dread, body horror, and unsettling creatures beyond our imagination, The X-Files pushed our minds to ponder what the government could be covering up. Through a high-tension atmosphere, eerie sound design, and visceral moments of violence and terror, The X-Files was not always an easy watch. Through exceptional emotional horror, The X-Files thrived in a world before binge-watching. The X-Files was certainly a show that required a breather.
5
‘Oz’ (1997-2003)
Compared to cable television shows, network television felt safe and sanitized. This couldn’t be more evident than the hit HBO series, Oz. Set in the “Emerald City” experimental unit of the Oswald Maximum Security Correctional Facility, known as Oz, the series focused on the power struggles, violence, and rehabilitation efforts among inmates and staff. If dramas on network television were rated PG-13, Oz was rated R. With Oz broken down through ethnic factions, including one led by the sadistic Vernon Schillinger (J.K. Simmons), via the mismanagement of the hypocritical, holier-than-thou Tim McManus (Terry Kinney), this was not a prison you wanted to call home. Nothing on Oz was sanitized.
Many of the storylines in the series were quite dark, bleak, and, at times, unsettling. From Dino Ortolani (Jon Seda) being burned alive in his cell in the pilot to a guard’s eye being gouged out by inmates, Tobias Beecher’s (Lee Tergesen) murdered son’s hand being mailed to him, to the execution of prisoners including Cyril O’Reily (Scott William Winters) and Jefferson Keane (Leon Robinson), Oz was not an easy show to watch. Yet it was sensational television that opened the door to dramatic, realistic television for years to come.
4
‘Twin Peaks’ (1990-1991)
There are many writers and directors whom aspiring artists strive to emulate because of their distinct stamp on the media. One such name was David Lynch. When he brought the surrealist mystery horror drama Twin Peaks to ABC, television was never the same. For two seasons, Twin Peaks took viewers on a dark journey through the titular town where idiosyncratic FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) investigated the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), only to uncover a dark underworld of secrets, crime, and supernatural forces lurking beneath.
Even with a surreal lens, the dark exploration of trauma, abuse, and evil within the quaint town made Twin Peaks heavy with the emotionally tragic and twisted horrors that you feared could be lurking in your own backyard. Lynch’s signature style made the cult classic such a thrill that many have hoped to recreate, yet never could. As a truly original take on the deconstruction of Americana, Twin Peaks shattered our ideals through its dream-logic complexity. Even amid moments of chaotic energy, it served a purpose within the greater mythology and lore of Twin Peaks.
3
‘St. Elsewhere’ (1982-1988)
One of the most common television genres is medical dramas. Putting a perspective on the lives of the men and women who put everything on the line to save their patients, these dramas have continually found a home on television. One of the greatest of all time was St. Elsewhere. Created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey, the medical drama followed the chaotic lives of the doctors at Boston’s underfunded St. Eligius teaching hospital. Best known for its far-too-realistic storylines, the series puts the trauma the lifesavers experience into perspective as they struggle to make the most of their jobs. But the series will forever be remembered for its mind-blowing finale.
With a sensational ensemble, which, during its run, included William Daniels, Ed Begley Jr., Howie Mandel, and Denzel Washington, St. Elsewhere was a true game-changer by the time the final credits rolled. From deaths of beloved doctors and their loved ones to the feeling that the hospital was just a dumping ground for patients too poor or sick for other institutions, St. Elsewhere was emotionally draining. And then came that finale. It was revealed that the entire series existed inside the imagination of an autistic child, making the entire series feel beyond surreal for devoted fans.
2
‘The Real World’ (1992-2019)
Perhaps you may need a refresher. The Real World was the groundbreaking MTV reality series that was the true story of seven strangers who were picked to live in a house and have their lives taped. The series truly showed you what happens when you stop being polite and start getting real. Unlike the reality shows of today, The Real World was a documentary that displayed young people experiencing real-world issues in their own lives. Often putting diametrically opposed individuals within the same house as roommates, The Real World was dramatic because it was authentic.
With a range of social issues coming to the forefront, ranging from prejudice, politics, race, homophobia, rape, abortion, alcoholism, AIDs/HIV, illness, and sexuality, The Real World played host to many television firsts. With each season set in a different season, each cast’s dynamic helped diversify the experience and bring the social commentary to the forefront. Though the show fell into more common reality tropes by the time it reached the genre’s heyday in the ’00s, the ’90s iteration was truly sublime. From Pedro Zamora‘s AIDS story in San Francisco, “the slap” in Seattle, Danny Roberts‘ blurred-out military boyfriend in New Orleans, and the removal of roommates David Edwards in Los Angeles and David “Puck” Rainey in San Francisco, The Real World was not easy viewing. It was truly a mirror to a generation.
1
‘Roots’ (1977)
Maybe you watched it in real time, or you experienced it in the classroom as a history lesson; however you viewed it, Roots was a remarkable viewing. Based on Alex Haley‘s book, the ABC historical miniseries was a heavy watch. The series follows Kunta Kinte (LeVar Burton), an African man captured in the 1750s and enslaved in America, following his life and the enduring journey of his descendants through generations of slavery, resistance, and the search for freedom and heritage. The series left little to the imagination as the brutal realities of slavery were front and center.
A generational story that ultimately highlighted the strength of family and the power of resilience, the series was used as an educational tool and ultimately a source of good. But it forced its audience to experience the dramatization of the dehumanizing nature of slavery, even as they discovered the enduring spirit to maintain one’s history. Even when the miniseries was remade in 2016, it didn’t resonate in the same manner as the 1977 version did. Roots is one of the most important miniseries of all time, even if it was difficult to watch.

The Olympian glammed up her look with silver rings, a hand chain and a black Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet. She further accessorized with a silver chain necklace and dainty hoop earrings.
Biles went makeup-free in the pic and wore her hair parted down the middle and styled in long curls.

The Man Who Secretly Made Star Trek’s Most Popular Aliens Violently Kinky
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Even the most casual fans of Star Trek know that Klingons are all about honor, fighting, and dying in the most glorious way possible. Of course, once you watch enough episodes, you learn that these aliens don’t reserve their violence for the battlefield. They are also into violently kinky sex, the kind that regularly sent Dax and Worf to the infirmary on Deep Space Nine.
As you might imagine, the Klingons weren’t always envisioned as being total freaks in bed; that concept wasn’t introduced until Star Trek: The Next Generation. Interestingly, we owe this weird bit of alien trivia to one man: Cliff Bole, the prolific director whom the Bolians were named after. He helmed the episode “The Emissary,” and when Worf hooked up with his future baby mama, K’Ehleyr, the director improvised by having the two draw blood because he thought that Klingons would be just as violent in bed as they are in battle.
Ridges, For Her Pleasure

For context, “The Emissary” (not to be confused with the DS9 episode of the same name) is an episode where the Enterprise encounters a group of Klingons who have been in suspended animation for the past 75 years. In an effort to make a diplomatic solution work, Captain Picard works with K’Ehler, a Federation ambassador. She is also a Klingon who has a history with Worf, and these two end up hooking up; she will later give birth to Alexander, a son Worf will have to raise on his own (until he doesn’t) after K’Ehleyr is brutally murdered.
When Star Trek: The Next Generation first started, the writers were a little iffy on Klingon society, including whether or not the Empire had become part of the Federation. Later, the show would benefit from Ronald Moore, The Original Series superfan who helped create some of the best Klingon episodes in the franchise. But Moore wouldn’t be hired until Season 3, so it was up to Season 2 director Cliff Bole to create several Klingon customs on the fly.
Blood, Bodies, And Bat’leths

According to Captains’ Logs: The Unauthorized Complete Trek Voyages, this included Klingon mating rituals. “I came up with that thing where [K’Ehleyr] digs into [Worf’s] hand and there’s all that blood,” Bole said. “I did that on the set. I was wondering what these people do, and I had the image of bones breaking and felt that’s what they do when they get it on.”
This quick improvisation became one of the key elements of Klingon lore, one that would be referenced in several other episodes. Previously, all Worf had really said about sex was that he wouldn’t be trying it on the ship because he thought Earth women were too fragile. This implied that he was worried about humans simply thinking he was too rough in bed. Thanks to “The Emissary,” we know that Worf is worried about fragile partners because Klingon mating is rougher than rough, regularly involving breaking bones and making your partner bleed.
50 Blades Of Grey

Just how rough Worf likes it is evidenced in Deep Space Nine once he begins a romantic relationship with Dax, and they hook up for the first time in “Looking For par’Mach in All the Wrong Places.” After getting injured during a bat’leth fight, they then haul their banged-up bodies to the infirmary, where a blushing Bashir quickly ascertains exactly how these two got their injuries. DS9 would frequently make allusions to their rough bedroom life, and Discovery eventually showed us just how violent Klingon coupling could be with a flashback scene where Ash Tyler/Voq may or may not have been assaulted by a very unclothed L’Rell.
Discovery was also the show that all but confirmed male Klingons have two genitals, which raised more than a few questions about Worf’s relationship with Troi and Dax. Obviously, the NuTrek show’s emphasis on Klingon hyper-aggressive mating builds on decades of lore for these angry aliens. But their well-earned reputation as the biggest freaks in the Quadrant all started with Cliff Bole, whose improvisation on the set of “The Emissary” left an unmistakable mark (kind of like what Worf does to women on the holodeck!) on Klingon society.

Claressa Shields Celebrates Turning 31
Shields was all smiles as she addressed her 30s era on her birthday! She took to her Instagram Stories shortly after midnight on March 17 to share her thoughts on turning 31. In her videos, sis was riding passenger princess and dripped in diamonds while her man was behind the wheel. She started by saying that it’s a real one’s “holiday” and laughing about being 31.
“…Let me go ahead and spill my lil’ beans. Turning 31 does not hurt. In my younger days, when I was 17….I always felt that when you turn 31 that it gon’ hurt. You gon be old…I say this to say that age ain’t nothing but a number, because if you tell yourself that you old, you gonna feel old. You tell yourself that you young, you gonna feel young. If you eat healthy and you be healthy, drink your water, eat your fruit. Be nice and kind to people, get a great relationship with God, you will feel and you will look young. And you will be happy and don’t let people stress you out,” Claressa Shields said.
Despite experiencing trials and tribulations, Claressa loves that her journey includes smiling through the new wave of haters she gains every year. “Never let no body take your smile away. No matter who it is,” she said. “At the end of the day, I got 31 reasons to be that girl.”
Also, Shields said she has no reason to be upset because she’s surpassed her life circumstances and has everything she’s wanted in life. “And whatever I want to get, I will get,” the boxer said. Additionally, she said she can’t wait to celebrate herself all month. “We going up, FRFR” Claressa said.
Papoose Wishes His Queen A Happy Birthday
As mentioned, Pap also posted late at night in celebration of Claressa Shields. He posted a video of them riding around jamming to Stevie Wonder’s version of the “Happy Birthday” song. She was joyfully singing, and Papoose was smiling, matching her energy. In white text, he wrote, “Special Happy born day my Queen. The love is fireproof,” adding three emojis including a red heart.

Brad Pitt Escalates Fight With Angelina Jolie Over Winery
The long-running legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has taken another dramatic turn, with tensions escalating over their once-shared French winery.
What began as a disagreement over a business deal has now evolved into a deeply personal and complex court fight involving accusations, financial stakes, and years of unresolved conflict.
As new filings surface, Pitt appears determined to push the case further, while Jolie continues to fight back, setting the stage for an even more intense legal showdown.
Brad Pitt Pushes For Key Testimony In Winery Dispute

Rather than focusing solely on Jolie, Pitt is now widening the scope of the case by going after someone he believes holds critical answers.
The actor is pushing to question Yuri Shefler, the businessman who ultimately acquired Jolie’s stake in Château Miraval.
Pitt’s legal team argues that Shefler wasn’t just a passive buyer but a central figure in how the deal unfolded.
According to filings obtained by the Daily Mail, the actor claims he has “learned that the transaction was orchestrated by, and closed at the behest of” Shefler, a statement that suggests deeper involvement than previously assumed.
This move is significant because Shefler has resisted participating, reportedly citing his residence in Switzerland.
Pitt, however, is pointing to alleged direct communication between Jolie and the businessman as proof that his testimony could clarify how the controversial sale came together.
Pitt Gains Momentum With Court-Ordered Evidence Release

While the case continues to evolve, Pitt has already secured a key win that could shape what happens next. A judge ruled that Jolie must hand over a set of private communications tied to the winery deal, rejecting her claim that they are fully protected.
The 62-year-old’s team has been clear about why they want the documents, arguing Jolie “is abusing the privilege to bury critical documents that go to the heart of the case.”
They maintain that the materials are not purely legal advice but include relevant business discussions that could reveal her true intentions during the sale.
The ruling, which came just before Pitt’s birthday, requires the actress to produce 22 documents within a strict timeline.
According to sources close to Pitt, those messages could demonstrate she had been “disingenuous since the start,” a claim that adds another layer of tension to an already volatile case.
Jolie’s side, however, is not backing down. Speaking to the outlets, her attorney, Paul Murphy, said, “We’re disappointed by the court’s interpretation of California’s privilege law,” adding that the decision undermined her right to a fair trial and will be challenged on appeal.
Brad Pitt Challenges Angelina Jolie’s Inner Circle And Advisors

As more details emerge, the case is no longer just about Pitt and Jolie as it now involves several people within the 50-year-old’s professional circle. The disputed documents reportedly include conversations with trusted figures like Terry Bird, Chloe Dalton, and Lady Arminka Helic, as well as financial advisors.
Pitt’s legal team believes these communications could reveal how his ex-wife planned and executed the sale behind the scenes. In their view, these exchanges go beyond legal consultation and may include strategic discussions that should not be shielded.
Jolie, however, insists otherwise, maintaining that these individuals were essential to her decision-making process and that their involvement was “reasonably necessary to help me receive the legal advice I needed.” She has also acknowledged making detailed edits to the documents, describing “sentence-by-sentence redactions” to remove what she considers sensitive legal thinking.
Pitt’s side remains skeptical, arguing that important non-legal information may be hidden within those edits.
Pitt And Jolie’s Personal History Continues To Surface

The legal fight has grown more aggressive on both sides, with accusations flying over motives and tactics.
Jolie’s team has warned they may seek sanctions against Pitt, calling his legal motions “frivolous” and premature.
They also suggested the “F1” star may be using the case to distract from other serious issues, including allegations tied to their past.
Pitt’s lawyers have dismissed those claims outright, describing the accusations as “theatrics” and insisting the timing of filings is irrelevant.
Jolie has also shared personal details about the aftermath of their 2016 split, stating she left Pitt “control (and full residency) of our family homes in Los Angeles and at Miraval, without compensation,” in hopes of easing tensions.
The “Maleficent” actress added per PEOPLE, “To this day, the children and I have never again set foot on the property,” referencing painful memories connected to their divorce.
The former couple, who share six children, have remained at odds since their split, with the divorce only finalized years later. Their ongoing conflict continues to spill into both legal filings and public perception.
Brad Pitt’s Winery Battle Heads Toward High-Stakes Showdown

With no resolution in sight, the dispute is now moving toward a critical phase.
A trial date has been set for February 2027, with mediation scheduled months earlier, signaling that both sides are preparing for a prolonged legal fight.
Jolie faces potential financial consequences if the court ultimately rules against her sale of the winery stake, while Pitt continues to build his case through document requests and witness testimony.
He has already secured several legal victories, including a ruling in Luxembourg that temporarily restored his control over the vineyard.
Additionally, a previous attempt to dismiss his lawsuit as “frivolous, malicious, and part of a problematic pattern” was rejected by a Los Angeles court.

Days of our Lives TWIST: Jeremy Staying in Salem – Is Michael Roark Being Secretly Replaced?
Days of Our Lives divulges that Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) was finally exonerated after many months of false assumptions and accusations being thrown in his face. And if you recall, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) packed him snacks when Jeremy packed his car because he was planning to leave school that day and head to New York. He was going to stay with his dad, Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow).
But after this co-kidnapping ordeal with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), we might actually see Jeremy stay. We know Michael Roark exits on April 29th, but we’re going to talk about whether there is a recast coming.
Alex Assaults Jeremy After Misreading the Scene on Days of Our Lives
So, if you recall, Jeremy and Stephanie had gotten themselves free and then she collapsed and Jeremy was holding her. So, by the time Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) showed up to rescue her, she had already mostly been rescued. It was just the door lock keeping them in. And at the end of last week, Alex and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) got into Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) and EJ DiMera‘s (Dan Feuerriegel) secret lab behind the Tom Horton Free Clinic. And boy was Alex surprised when he burst in on Jeremy who was gently cradling Stephanie in his arms.
You know, hotheaded Alex misread the scene, which you can understand. If you come in and she looks unconscious, dead, drugged, whatever, and the stalker is holding her, you would freak out. So, he assaulted Jeremy. He punched him several times before Stephanie screamed for him to stop. And then she explained that Jeremy didn’t kidnap her. It was Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey) that did it. And the assault came right after Stephanie dislocated Jeremy’s thumb so he could free them.
Jeremy Tried to Play Hero on DOOL
And of course, after seeing Owen posing as a school janitor and then Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) finding Stephanie’s cell phone, Jeremy put two and two together and bravely followed Owen to the hospital. And then Jeremy waited until the coast was clear and he tried to play hero and rescue Stephanie, but we all saw that that was an epic fail.
She started screeching because she wrongly blamed Jeremy for all the stalking and then her kidnapping. And then Owen popped up and that shocked Stephanie. And then he grabbed Jeremy and also took him prisoner. So Owen had two kidnap victims when he only wanted one. He was ready to kill the bonus kidnap victim.
And then Stephanie apologized to Jeremy and they immediately began plotting their escape. So, Stephanie tricked Owen into unlocking her handcuffs. She claimed that her legs were in pain from sitting for so long.
And Stephanie played into Owen’s obsession for her and kissed him so she could slide her hands down his back pocket and get his cell. And of course, Owen was livid when he heard the 911 dispatcher talking and then Stephanie and Jeremy started screaming for help.
Days of our Lives: Jeremy & Stephanie Work Together
So, Owen handcuffed her and then after they were both left that way, they slid back together and she yanked Jeremy’s thumb out of the socket so that Jeremy could be free of his cuffs. And then Stephanie coached Jeremy how to use bobby pins from her hair to unlock her handcuffs.
But Jeremy’s luck ran out when he tried to pick the door lock. So he was able to free Stephanie, but she was so weak, she just collapsed in his arms. And then Alex burst in and commenced with the unnecessary beating. But of course, he didn’t know that.
The Apology Tour Begins on Days
So, once Stephanie and Jeremy were safely at the hospital, the apology tour that I expected began. First, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) told Jeremy she was sorry. And I mean, Jada was brutal to him on their Salem singles match date, and then they were actually trying to accuse Jeremy of hacking the system.
That was just the most preposterous assumption in all of this for me. So, after Jada’s I’m sorry, Alex went to Jeremy’s room to apologize for hurting him and making all those nasty accusations and confrontations. I mean, Alex has been really aggro with Jeremy for a while. And Alex asked Jeremy if he was still planning to leave Salem.
And this was right after Jeremy had a call with Julie to let her know what happened. So, surprisingly, Jeremy hinted he may stick around Salem. And honestly, it makes sense story-wise for him to stay given what’s coming next month for Alex and Stephanie. That could blow their relationship apart.

Is Jeremy Being Recast?
However, we also know that Michael Roark’s last date on Days is April 29th. So, that has me wondering if they’ve done a possible Jeremy recast that we just don’t know about yet. Michael Roark’s a very busy guy. I was honestly surprised he had time to take the role of Jeremy on Days.
He has a major role in a very steamy streaming series called The Black Dagger Brotherhood. If you haven’t read the books, I have. I love them. They are smoking hot. And Michael Roark plays Butch, this hunky New York cop. He’s got the accent and everything.
He’s a prominent character in the books and he’s confirmed for season two. I expect to see him in the series as long as it carries on because he is a major character in the books. So, season two of Black Dagger just started filming. If you want to see Michael Roark in it, you can catch the show on Passionflix. It’s a romance movie streaming platform with lots of sexy shows.
So anyway, he couldn’t stay on as Jeremy because he had these other obligations. And while there have been no official updates that they are switching up Jeremy actors, it could have happened in Days of Our Lives just kept it quiet because they filmed so many months ahead, 9 to 10 months ahead right now.
It could have flown completely under the radar that Michael Roark left and somebody new just stepped right into the role. And we know Days has no issue with recasts. We’ve seen them swap actors in and out plenty of times.
Jeremy Could Be Part of a Love Triangle on Days of Our Lives
And if Jeremy is recast and stays in Salem, he could be a friend that Stephanie can lean on when Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) returns to Salem, presumably after delivering her and Alex’s baby. If you remember, Joy left town pregnant, but she lied to both Alex and Stephanie and said she wasn’t knocked up.
So Joy is set to show up in town on April 24th, which is the day after May Sweeps kicks off. And Michael Roark will still be on screen for a few episodes when Alex’s ex-fling Joy comes back with some baby mama drama.
And given how traumatized Stephanie is and what she and Jeremy went through together, I could see her turning to him for comfort over this Joy situation. Plus, Alex doesn’t know it yet, but Stephanie doesn’t want kids and he wants a whole houseful of little Kiriakis kids. And if Jeremy is recast, we could get a love triangle or even a quadrangle if you add Joy into the equation.
Days of our Lives: Jeremy Stays?
Plus, trauma bonding is real. And the only person right now who understands exactly what Stephanie’s gone through is Jeremy because he went through it with her. So Stephanie may also be a little upset with Alex for beating up an already injured Jeremy. And it’s obvious Alex would be happy to see Jeremy out of town as soon as he’s out of the hospital.
And as much as I would love to see Michael Roark continue as Jeremy, I would be okay with another actor stepping in to play the part, which would give Alex a run for his money, especially once Joy comes to town. So, we’ll see how it goes, but we may get a secret recast. Wait and see.
