17 Longest Theatrical Runs in Movie History
The term theatrical runs refers to the duration of a particular production’s showing in movie theaters. Naturally, popular movies usually have longer runs compared to lesser-known and talked-about ones. And even though the average duration of a theatrical run is four weeks, but blockbuster movies tend to have longer runs.
Throughout the years, audiences have been graced with tons of number-one hits that had a long stay in theaters to give everyone the chance to view them, with some so iconic that they come back to the big screen every now and again despite being released decades ago, which is the case of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. From Avatar to The Sound of Music, these are some of the longest theatrical runs of all time, ranked by how many weeks they showed in cinemas.

‘Unforgiven’ (1992)
Weeks showing in theaters: 49
Starring Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman in the lead roles, Unforgiven is a period drama tragedy following a retired Old West gunslighter who reluctantly takes on one last job to avenge an injustice with the help of his old partner and a newer outlaw known simply as The Schofield Kid.
Considering its huge widespread critical acclaim and intriguing portrayal of its Western narrative (which provided viewers with a fresh take on the genre that had been declining in popularity), Unforgiven was highly successful at the box office, grossing over $160 million worldwide on a modest budget. Anchored by the incredible central performances — including Eastwood’s efforts, which certainly drew a large audience — the movie counted on a lengthy theatrical run of 49 weeks.

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ (2002)
Weeks showing in theaters: 50
A feel-good romance that is still a fan-favorite to this day, Joel Zwick‘s My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a groundbreaking watch that throws humor, romance, and cultural representation into the mix. The film focuses on a young Greek woman (Nia Vardalos) who falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding was mostly positively received by general audiences, which played a role in its lengthy theater stay. Despite starting as a small indie film, it went on to become a surprising box office hit that resonated with a broad range of people, which ultimately encouraged theaters to keep it running for a while. Moreover, the Academy Award-nominated picture is a great pick for anyone who appreciates romantic comedies with heart and family-centric stories with immaculate feel-good vibes.
15
‘Avatar’ (2009)
Weeks showing in theaters: 54
There is no doubt that James Cameron‘s first Avatar film was a huge deal when it was released, grossing over $2.700 billion at the box office. The first installment of the epic science fiction franchise introduced audiences to the astonishing moon of Pandora by depicting a paraplegic Marine (Sam Worthington) dispatched on a mission and consequently becoming torn between following orders and protecting the unique world.
Featuring cutting-edge technology and an incredibly immersive world-building, Avatar quickly became one of the most groundbreaking films to hit the big screen, so it is no wonder why so many people went to see the blockbuster. Avatar was showing in cinemas for 54 weeks, meaning 379 days. Furthermore, it is also worth mentioning that the 2022 sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, did not fall behind its predecessor by a lot, staying in theaters for 271 days.
14
‘Titanic’ (1997)
Weeks showing in theaters: 54
26 years later, Titanic endures as one of James Cameron’s most popular works. The popular Best Picture winner, which was inspired by the real-life accounts of the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912, tells the heartbreaking story of the ill-fated romantic relationship between two teenagers: a lower-class artist (Leonardo DiCaprio) and an aristocrat (Kate Winslet).
Equal parts captivating and heartbreaking, Titanic makes for a truly immersive viewing experience that will stick with anyone who decides to watch it. Winslet and DiCaprio, the highlights of the film, shine in two of their most memorable roles. With a theatrical run that lasted 378 days from its release on Dec. 19, 1997, Cameron’s widely known achievement, Titanic, was his second highest-grossing and was showing in theaters for an impressive amount of 54 weeks.
13
‘Jaws’ (1975)
Weeks showing in theaters: 55
A cornerstone in filmmaking, Steven Spielberg‘s Jaws is often credited with establishing the concept of the summer blockbuster. The iconic monster horror film sees a massive killer shark unleash chaos on a beach community off Long Island. It’s up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an older seafarer to hunt the beast down.
Starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Lorraine Gary, among other talented performers, Jaws had an exceptionally long theatrical run, not only for being a massive box office success, but also for simultaneously becoming a cultural phenomenon. Grossing over $480 million worldwide against a budget of just $12 million, Spielberg’s movie was certainly a highly triumphant and groundbreaking achievement that has captured the attention of global audiences with its suspenseful narrative and unforgettable characters.
12
‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ (2000)
Weeks showing in theaters: 55
Directed by Ang Lee, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a wuxia movie that bridges Eastern and Western audiences through its engaging premise and incredible martial arts choreography. Starring Chow Yun-fat and Michelle Yeoh in the lead roles, the film focuses on a young Chinese warrior who steals a sword from a famed swordsman and then escapes into a world of romantic adventure with a mysterious man.
A four-time Academy Award winner, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was a landmark in 2000s cinema, becoming one of the most recognized films of the decade, whether for its stunning visuals or the emotionally entertaining story that delves into universal themes of love and honor. It’s not the least surprising that it gained momentum through word-of-mouth following its release, with people often recommending it to others, and its success continuing to draw viewers in. Naturally, this resulted in an even greater international triumph, with the movie playing in theaters for an impressive 55 weeks.
11
‘Beverly Hills Cop’ (1984)
Weeks showing in theaters: 56
Beverly Hillis Cop is an incredible detective story starring Eddie Murphy in one of his earliest and most iconic roles. Directed by Mark Molloy, Tony Scott, Martin Brest, and John Landis, the action comedy centers on a street-smart Detroit cop who embarks on a mission in Beverly Hills to solve the murder of his best friend.
With top-notch comedic timing, sharp dialogue often improvised on the spot by Murphy, and a strong (and iconic) central performance, this highly referenced 1980s buddy cop film had an extended stay in theaters for about 56 weeks. Thanks to the film’s engaging premise and characters, which are two of its strongest aspects, Beverly Hills Cop has grossed over $200 million at the time and endures as an entertaining watch today.
10
‘Back to the Future’ (1985)
Weeks showing in theaters: 78
Back to the Future is yet another super-successful blockbuster that remains one of the most well-known and talked-about movies in pop culture even today, especially in the sci-fi genre. Robert Zemeckis’ classic movie sees 17-year-old student Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) as he embarks on a wild adventure through time after being accidentally sent 30 years into the past.
On top of its entertaining and innovative narrative for the time it was released, Back to the Future‘s unforgettable central characters and their impeccable dynamic are certainly part of what makes Zemeckis’ movie so incredibly treasured. As such, it is not difficult to grasp that the popular sci-fi comedy movie was showing for 78 weeks in cinemas, grossing around $388 million.
9
‘Jurassic Park’ (1993)
Weeks showing in theaters: 81
With groundbreaking special effects that pioneered computer-generated imagery, set new standards, impressive sound design, and masterful direction by one of the most famous directors of all time, Jurassic Park marked the beginning of an iconic franchise. The 1993 Steven Spielberg movie is a beloved flick in the genre, and it depicts the aftermath of a disastrous power failure in a dinosaur theme park.
Jurassic Park‘s ensemble cast (Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil, etc.) and top-notch action sequences are prominent aspects of the film, as well as its meditation on humanity’s attempt to play God. Given its undeniably massive success, the movie has understandably played in theaters for 569 days or 81 weeks.
Weeks showing in theaters: 81
Filmed from a child’s point of view and centering around a troubled child who aided a friendly alien escape from Earth and finds his way to his home planet, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is yet another iconic movie by filmmaker Steven Spielberg. It is beautifully, tenderly written by Melissa Mathison.
A remarkable and esteemed 1982, E.T. holds the box office record for most weeks at #1. Released on June 10, 1982, and ending its run on June 9, 1983, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was exhibited in theaters for 81 weeks. Part of what makes Spielberg’s film a timeless classic that makes it worth a watch even these days is the universal themes it deals with, which include friendship, loyalty, and trust.

Charlize Theron’s Raunchy, R-Rated Western Is The Closest Thing You’ll Get To Blazing Saddles
By Robert Scucci
| Published

Movie fans always love to say “you can’t make a movie like Blazing Saddles today.” What they don’t realize is that Seth MacFarlane tried to give us the next best thing in the form of 2014’s A Million Ways to Die in the West. While I can’t in good conscience say the film is a one-to-one analog to the 1974 Mel Brooks masterpiece, it proves that offensive satire is alive and well, and if the jokes actually land, filmmakers can still get away with it. The jokes in A Million Ways to Die in the West are racially and sexually charged, with just the right amount of toilet humor to round things out.
Don’t believe me? I have three little words for you: Neil Patrick Harris. And three more describing what he does: poops in hat.

A Million Ways to Die in the West, while a valiant effort to channel some serious Blazing Saddles energy, was ultimately a critical failure, landing at 33 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. If I’m being honest, that’s a fair assessment. People didn’t hate this movie because it was offensive. It struggled because it feels tryhard, treating the art of landing jokes like a numbers game.
Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments in A Million Ways to Die in the West. But for every zinger, there are about ten clunkers that don’t add much to the film.
Albert Stark’s Old Stump Stomping Grounds

Set in 19th century Old Stump, Arizona, A Million Ways to Die in the West introduces us to sheep farmer Albert Stark (Seth MacFarlane). His girlfriend Louise (Amanda Seyfried) dumps him because he’s a coward, sending him on what I’d call a complaining bender that basically explains the title. Albert goes on extended rants about why living in the 1880s sucks, and it’s a lot of telling without much showing. We get it. There’s no running water or heat, people die of dysentery, duels are dangerous, hired companionship is expensive and unhygienic, and Albert never lets up.
Albert’s life gets infinitely more interesting when he meets and befriends Anna Barnes-Leatherwood (Charlize Theron), and the two quickly develop a spark. Unbeknownst to Albert, Anna is married to Clinch Leatherwood (Liam Neeson), a rough, no-nonsense outlaw whose primary means of communication is shooting people in the face.

As Albert and Anna’s relationship grows, we meet a lineup of colorful side characters, including Albert’s best friend Edward (Giovanni Ribisi), who’s dating a prostitute named Ruth (Sarah Silverman) who, despite her occupation, wants to save herself for marriage. Many of these interactions are facilitated by Family Guy mainstay Alex Borstein as Millie, one of the local brothel’s madames. A rivalry also develops between Albert and Louise’s new boyfriend Foy (Neil Patrick Harris), who comes off like a mustache-twirling antagonist because he is one who literally twirls his mustache.
Tries Its Best, But There’s Just Too Much Going On
While I appreciate Seth MacFarlane’s attempt to write and direct a raunchy Western comedy clearly inspired by Mel Brooks, A Million Ways to Die in the West suffers from trying to do too many things at once. There are so many side characters and cameos that it feels like the movie is leaning on star power instead of refining the script. Even Patrick Stewart shows up in an uncredited role as a talking sheep during Albert’s psychedelic trip after taking a massive dose of hallucinogens from a group of Apaches.

This only reinforces the problem. The entire freakout sequence is a hilarious vignette, with Seth MacFarlane going for a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas style spiral, but it doesn’t move the story forward at all. The whole movie feels like this, cramming gags into the runtime without asking if they’re necessary. The end result is a hodgepodge of Western tropes wrapped in Family Guy humor, in a film that never fully finds its own identity.

A Million Ways to Die in the West SCORE
I’ll call it a modern Blazing Saddles in spirit, but in execution it falls well short. Still, it’s a silly movie that fans of Seth MacFarlane will appreciate on some level.
A Million Ways to Die in the West is currently streaming on Netflix.

Erika Jayne Gives The Latest On Her Friendship With Dorit Kemsley
Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills“ is nearing its end, with multiple cast members being at odds with Dorit Kemsley. This includes, but is not limited to, Erika Jayne and Sutton Stracke. Now, ahead of the “RHOBH” season finale, Bravo has released a new preview, featuring Jayne venting to Stracke about their tardy friend.
Erika Jayne Opens Up About Missing Dorit Kemsley’s Book Event

In the recently released RHOBH preview, Jayne visits Stracke’s home while they both skip Kemsley’s book cover event. Regarding Jayne’s feelings, she said, “I wish that I felt like I should be there, but I don’t.” She also noted that she “hadn’t done any of that” when Stracke stated that she’d told their costar she wasn’t attending the event.
After that, Jayne reflected, saying, “I was thinking: how much she has supported me on Broadway and then coming to my show in Vegas and all this sh-t, and I was thinking, ‘Erika, you should be there,’ then I was like, wait a second, we had a full-on disaster happen in Italy. I can’t do that again.”
From there, she claimed that the decision not to attend didn’t stem solely from Kemsley calling her a “c-nt,” but from a multitude of indiscretions.
Erika Also Called Out Dorit For Saying She Hadn’t Supported Her

A previous episode from season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” featured Kemsley telling the group that Bozoma Saint John had supported her more than all of them combined. Notably, Saint John only joined the show and met Kemsley in season 14.
In response, the 54-year-old said, “Wait a minute. Like, I’m your friend for eight f-cking years.” Then, in a confessional, she stated that everyone had reached their limits with Kemsley before saying, “[It] is not worth this. I don’t need to be treated like this.”
Near the end, she said, “Maybe PK wasn’t wrong,” in reference to Kemsley’s estranged husband.
Sutton Stracke Also Aired Out Her Grievances

Elsewhere in the extended preview, Stracke also weighed in on the changing dynamics with Kemsley. For context, this came after the two had bumped heads at Rachel Zoe‘s event from the previous episode. According to Stracke, “Rache’s party was just a lot, and Dorit, the way she spoke to me and treated me.”
This then led the “RHOBH” star to recall Kemsley stating how difficult a time she’d had amid her divorce, before noting that she, too, is coping with life changes, specifically becoming an empty nester, without treating her friends that way.
In her confessional, Stracke lamented, “Dorit treats me pretty poorly. It just goes to show what she thinks of our relationship, which is nothing.”
‘RHOBH’ Fans Think Dorit Kemsley Is Wrong

Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” hasn’t been one of the most well-received in the show’s history. Still, it’s generated considerable buzz, especially regarding Kemsley and her issues with Stracke, Jayne, and also Kyle Richards.
Because of this, many fans are taking sides online. One person wrote on TikTok, “Team Erica, Sutton, Kyle. Dorit doesn’t deserve their friendship.” Someone else said, “I can’t believe anyone sides with Dorit. Are we watching the same show?”
Another “RHOBH” watcher stated, “WTH is Sutton even talking about? I saw nothing particularly offensive with how Dorit talked with her.”
Lastly, a different viewer wrote, “This has been the longest, most boring, dragged-out season ever. Thank God it’s finally over.”
Dorit Kemsley Recently Opened Up About Leaving Kyle & Erika Stranded

One of the biggest moments of contention from season 15 of “RHOBH” came when Kemsley left Richards and Jayne stranded during their trip to Italy. Per Bravo, regarding her decision to do so, she said, “I mean, the car ride there, I had my suspicions. And then when this, this, this? I was like, ‘You know what? I’m out.’”
Kemsley also said she felt set up by Richards and Jayne, who had confronted her on their outing away from the group. According to her, “Kyle makes it nearly impossible [to talk alone]. She makes sure she has someone there that’s going to interject, that’s going to keep her from being able to actually answer the question directly.”
She added, “And that’s what was happening. There was a frustration. I could see at that moment—I got up very quickly. I already got it.”

Part Three’ Reveals the Onset of a Tense Sci-Fi Showdown
In 2021, Denis Villeneuve took on the biggest challenge of his career thus far when he set out to adapt Frank Herbert’s beloved sci-fi book Dune for the big screen. It was a leap of faith for the Blade Runner 2049 helmer, especially considering how split critics were on the now cult-classic adaptation that David Lynch released several decades ago. But, this time around, audiences were not only ready to immerse themselves in the darkly fantastical world of Arrakis, but they praised Villeneuve’s carefully calculated vision that threw Timothée Chalamet into the role of Paul Atreides. After multiple awards and a smash-hit sequel that took the franchise to new heights in 2024, fans are counting down the days until Dune: Part Three blesses us in cinemas on December 18.
Pulling his story from Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah, Villeneuve will continue to tell the tale of Paul Atreides as he continues the war he triggered in the sequel. It’s an all-out holy war, with multiple armies rising against one another. Of course, this means that Chalamet will reprise his role as the main character, with Zendaya also returning as Chani. The movie will also explore Paul and Chani’s relationship and the children they’ll soon welcome into the world. Beyond that, we finally get more from Anya Taylor-Joy as Paul’s younger sister, Aila Atreides, who was introduced in the previous film.
Taking the stage at CinemaCon, alongside a group dressed like Fremen, Villeneuve described the third installment of the trilogy as a “thriller” and a “redemption” story before welcoming Jason Momoa, Zendaya, and Timothée Chalamet to the stage. Together, they presented the first seven minutes of the movie, much to the excitement of the audience. Picking up more than a decade after the sequel, our first look opens on a group of soldiers dropping onto a planet to lead an attack. From the back of the lineup, Javier Bardem’s Stilgar emerges while the men chant for their cause. Upon landing, they step out into the rain (which many of them are seeing for the first time) and confront their enemy. To their surprise, the enemy launches a counterattack that wipes out a good portion of the crew. Despite the all-out assault, the team persists with Stilgar leading them every step of the way.
Who Else Stars in ‘Dune: Part Three’?
Numerous familiar faces are coming back to the fold for what Warner Bros. is dubbing the completion of its Dune cinematic universe (at least for now). Included in the lineup of those reprising their roles are Florence Pugh (Midsommar), Rebecca Ferguson (Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man), Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) and Charlotte Rampling (The Little Stranger). Newcomers are also abundant in the third chapter of Villeneuve’s Dune, with folks like Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga) and Isaach de Bankolé (The People We Hate at the Wedding) joining the fold.
Dune: Part Three arrives in cinemas on December 18 where it will clash at the box office with Avengers: Doomsday for the ultimate holiday showdown. Stay tuned to Collider for more to come from CinemaCon.

Travis Kelce’s Pal Teases Plans For The NFL Star’s Wedding
Rob Gronkowski has teased a possible appearance at the highly anticipated wedding of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, hinting he’d bring his signature party energy if invited.
As speculation grows, details of the lavish New York City ceremony continue to emerge, from star-studded performances and personal tributes to an extravagant floral budget.
There are also rumors about global honeymoon plans, with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent public appearances seemingly reflecting their excitement ahead of the big day.
Rob Gronkowski Hints At Wedding Invite As He Plans to Bring Party Vibes To Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift’s Big Day

Speaking during a Page Six interview while promoting his 2026 Gronk Beach Presented by DoorDash event, Gronkowski kept things mysterious when asked whether he had received an invitation to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding.
The former New England Patriots star joked that his “lips are sealed” while teasing that he “may or may not” be attending.
What Gronkowski did make clear, though, is that if he were to make an appearance at the couple’s nuptials, he plans to bring his signature “Gronk Beach energy.”
He further noted that his presence alone would be reason enough for an invite, as he promises to “bring the juice … to the dance floor.”
Rob Gronkowski And The Kansas City Chiefs Star Are Good Friends

The two athletes go way back. Kelce attended Gronk Beach in 2022, where the pair first properly connected, famously facing off in a dance battle while The Chainsmokers played.
They later reunited years afterward in a DJ booth during a Super Bowl celebration, bringing things full circle.
Gronkowski also confirmed that Kelce remains a standing invite to his high-energy beach party, which returns this year during WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas.
The event is set for April 19 at the Marquee Dayclub inside The Cosmopolitan. “I’m bringing back my dance moves, my party skills, and this party is going to be off the charts,” he said, adding, “This party is going to be epic.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s NYC Wedding Plans Revealed

Meanwhile, reports suggest Kelce and Swift are planning to tie the knot in New York City on July 3.
Earlier speculation pointed to Rhode Island, where Swift owns a well-known coastal property, as a possible location, but plans were reportedly changed to accommodate a larger guest list.
Plans for the ceremony are said to be nothing short of extravagant. Close friends, including Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid, are reportedly helping organize special moments to celebrate Swift’s life and career.
Among them is a short film showcasing her journey, her relationship with Kelce, and unseen personal footage, offering guests a rare glimpse into their private world. “Much of the footage shows Taylor smiling and laughing, as she absolutely loves how funny Travis is,” the insider said per reports.
There are also plans for a lively karaoke segment, with Swift’s inner circle preparing performances inspired by her biggest hits. Gomez is said to be leading the idea, encouraging a celebration filled with music, dancing, and heartfelt tributes.
Kelce has reportedly been invited to join in as well and is said to be “super excited” to take part. “He wants to do everything he can to ensure she has the best wedding day ever and to build lasting memories,” the insider added.
The Couple’s Lavish Wedding Plans And Loved-Up Moments Signal An Exciting New Chapter

Beyond the entertainment, the wedding is expected to be lavish in every detail. Reports suggest a $1.2 million floral budget, along with thoughtful touches like preserved “eternity roses” for guests.
Kelce is also said to be planning a romantic gesture in the lead-up to the big day, sending Swift a series of floral arrangements that grow more elaborate as the wedding approaches.
According to Us Weekly, the ceremony itself is expected to lean into tradition, complete with classic moments like a father-daughter walk down the aisle and emotional first dances. Insiders say Swift values those meaningful touches, with Kelce fully on board.
The NFL star has previously admitted he got emotional during his proposal, revealing there were “a few tears” when he presented a custom-designed ring.
Following the ceremony, the couple is reportedly planning an extensive honeymoon spanning multiple destinations, including the Bahamas, Europe, and parts of Asia and the Pacific, before Kelce returns for NFL training camp.
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Wedding Plans Take Shape Amid Loved-Up Public Appearances

Their recent public appearances suggest the excitement is already building. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26, the pair looked completely in sync, laughing, staying close, and clearly enjoying the moment amid a busy year.
While accepting an award for Best Pop Album for “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift reflected on the shift in her music, describing it as “very happy, confident” than her previous work. She credited that change to her relationship, gesturing toward Kelce as she spoke. He responded with a silent “I love you.”
Last October, during an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Swift admitted it would be “fun to plan” a wedding, something insiders say has proven true. According to sources, both she and Kelce have taken a relaxed, collaborative approach, making a conscious effort to avoid stress.
Swift has also shared that she never had a clear vision for her wedding until meeting Kelce, noting that the process has become a joint effort, one she finds even more meaningful because of how involved he is in the details. “Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis cares about a lot of the details,” the source said.

Judge Orders Nigerian Scammers Wendy and Eddie Osefo To Turn Over 8 Years of Financial Records!
Judge Orders Nigerian Scammers Wendy and Eddie Osefo To Turn Over 8 Years of Financial Records!
Nigerian scammers, Wendy Osefo and her husband Eddie, suffered another lost in their $425K insurance fraud criminal case.
Financial Records
In a recent Carroll County Circuit Court hearing on Friday, prosecutors presented an argument that left the couple’s defense team scrambling. According to The Baltimore Sun, the state of Maryland is requesting access to the Osefos’ personal and business financial records, some dating back eight years, as part of a larger investigation into allegations of insurance fraud and other criminal activities.
Prosecutor Melissa Hockensmith told Judge Thomas M. Liddell that the Osefos’ financial records were crucial to the case, stating that “the public has an interest in these crimes and to make sure justice is done.” The state’s request aims to obtain financial documents that could shed light on the couple’s financial dealings, potentially connecting them to the alleged fraud and criminal activities.
The Osefos’ defense, however, argued fiercely against the subpoenas, claiming they were an invasive “fishing expedition” and a violation of their privacy. Their legal team emphasized that the couple’s financial information was private and confidential, and that the request overstepped legal bounds.
The Staged Burglary
The legal proceedings stem from a burglary that occurred at the Osefos’ Finksburg home in 2023. The couple reported that valuable items, including luxury handbags and jewelry, were stolen during the break-in. However, investigators later raised doubts about the legitimacy of the claim, leading to charges against the Osefos.
The couple was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury in October 2023 on multiple counts of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and making a false statement to a police officer. Specifically, they were charged with seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy insurance fraud, and one count of making a false statement to a police officer. These charges stem from accusations that the Osefos exaggerated or fabricated the extent of the burglary in order to collect insurance payouts.
The state believes that examining the Osefos’ financial records could provide vital evidence in support of their case. According to prosecutors, the couple’s financial history may help demonstrate a potential motive for committing insurance fraud.
67 Credit Cards in Luxury Wallets
One of the most dramatic points of contention in the case arose when prosecutors revealed new details about the Osefos’ luxury wallets. Investigators reportedly found 67 credit cards in four different high-end wallets, including a lambskin, black-quilted Chanel wallet that had previously been reported stolen during the burglary. This revelation was seen by many as a significant development in the case, fueling accusations that the Osefos might have been involved in more than just a simple burglary.
However, the defense team for Wendy and Eddie Osefo countered these claims by arguing that some of the cards in question were expired or linked to joint accounts. They also accused the prosecution of trying to embarrass the couple by focusing on the number of cards found. The Osefos’ attorneys argued that the sheer volume of the cards, many of which were inactive, was irrelevant to the case at hand and only served to discredit their clients.
Judge’s Ruling: A Win for the Prosecution
Despite the Osefos’ legal team’s objections, Judge Liddell sided with the prosecution. In a ruling that could have significant implications for the case, the judge stated that he was “inclined” to agree with the state’s argument and granted the request for the subpoena. As a result, the Osefos must now provide eight years’ worth of personal and business financial records to the prosecution. This ruling is seen as a victory for the state, as it grants investigators access to potentially crucial evidence that could further build their case.
The Osefos’ legal team expressed disappointment in the ruling but vowed to continue fighting the subpoena. “We will be looking into our options,” said one of the Osefos’ attorneys after the decision. “We believe this is an overreach, and we intend to challenge it.”
What’s Next for Wendy and Eddie Osefo
The Osefos are now facing the prospect of a lengthy and highly publicized legal battle. With the subpoena for their financial records granted, prosecutors will likely continue to probe the couple’s finances in the coming months. The Osefos’ defense team is expected to continue pushing back against the evidence, arguing that it is irrelevant to the charges they face.
As it stands, Wendy and Eddie Osefo are scheduled to go to trial in April 2026. The couple’s future remains uncertain, with the potential for significant legal and financial consequences if they are convicted. In the meantime, the Osefos’ case continues to attract public attention, particularly given Wendy’s prominent role on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
For now, the Osefos’ legal journey is far from over, and the coming months will likely see further twists and turns in this ongoing legal saga. With the prosecution armed with new evidence and the Osefos’ defense team determined to protect their privacy, this case is set to unfold in the public eye. The next chapter will be closely watched, as it could set a precedent for how similar cases are handled in the future.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays, at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.

Ruby Rose says she is stepping back from public conversation after formally taking her allegations against Katy Perry to the police.
The actress, who made explosive claims earlier this week about an alleged incident in Melbourne years ago, told fans she can no longer speak about the matter now that reports have been finalized.
While Rose’s decision marks a major shift in tone, she made it clear that silence does not mean she is backing away from what she says happened.
Ruby Rose Says Police Process Means She Can No Longer Speak Publicly

Ruby Rose revealed Tuesday that she is done publicly discussing the allegations now that she has officially filed her reports.
In a message shared via Threads, the “Batwoman” actress explained that the legal process now limits what she can say moving forward.
“Hi! Last update on this: As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports,” Rose wrote, adding, “This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.”
Rose said the silence may appear abrupt to those who have supported her, but stressed that it should not be mistaken for indifference.
She told followers that she still sees the messages and stories people have shared with her, even if she cannot respond.
“It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not,” Rose continued.
Rose Says Filing Her Report Helped Her Feel More Grounded

After deciding to involve law enforcement, Ruby Rose said she already feels an emotional shift.
The 40-year-old described the reporting process as something that has helped her begin moving forward after carrying the experience for years.
“This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief,” she shared.
Rose added that taking the bold step has helped her feel more centered. “I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward,” she wrote, before thanking followers for standing by her. “I love you all so much,” the star noted.
In no time, the comments section was overflowing with supportive reactions from fans. Many encouraged Rose to take some time off and focus on healing properly.
Other fans showered the “John Wick 2” star with adjectives such as “brave,” strong,” and “smart.”
Ruby Rose Made Explosive Allegations About A Past Melbourne Incident

Rose first shared her allegations in a series of Threads posts on Sunday, claiming Perry assaulted her years ago at Melbourne’s Spice Market nightclub.
As The Blast reported, the TV producer said she was prompted to speak out after seeing a post about Katy Perry attending Justin Bieber’s Coachella set.
“Katy Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh-t what she thinks,” Rose claimed.
She said that after the alleged incident, she tried to downplay what happened by turning it into what she described as a “funny little drunk story” because she did not know how else to cope.
Rose also alleged that the “Dark Horse” hitmaker later agreed to help her with a U.S. visa, which she revealed influenced her decision to keep quiet at the time.
According to the mode, she had tried in the past to hint that Perry was not a good person, but claimed those warnings were dismissed and instead led to her being attacked publicly.
Rose Gives More Details About Alleged Assault

In a separate post, Ruby Rose pushed back against suggestions that the alleged encounter involved a kiss, saying the incident was far more traumatic than people assumed.
Rose described an encounter in which she said she was trying to avoid Perry by resting on her best friend’s lap before the alleged assault took place.
“She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted [sic] on her,” Rose alleged.
Although Rose initially said she did not want to involve the police, she later confirmed that she had changed her mind and made an official report.
Inside Katy Perry’s Response To Ruby Rose’s Accusations

Shortly after Ruby Rose’s shocking claims, Perry responded through a representative on Monday, firmly rejecting every allegation.
The statement described Rose’s accusations as “not only categorically false” but also “dangerous reckless lies.” Perry’s team also pointed to what they described as Rose’s pattern of making serious allegations on social media that others have previously denied.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the singer’s representative said, per The Blast.
The response also reignited attention to Rose’s past public accusations, including her 2021 claims about an alleged toxic work environment on the set of “Batwoman.”
Recall that in a series of Instagram posts, Rose said she was pressured to return to work just 10 days after emergency spinal surgery for two herniated discs suffered during a stunt accident.
She claimed that executives warned that if she did not return, the entire cast and crew would be fired.
Rose also accused former Warner Bros. TV chairman Peter Roth of inappropriate behavior and alleged that co-star Dougray Scott was verbally abusive toward women on set.
