Northumberland restaurant Pine ranked among best in world
Restaurant Pine in Northumberland was named in the tenth-anniversary edition of La Liste, a global ranking of the top 1,000 restaurants across 200 countries.
The news was announced on Monday, November 24.
The Northumberland restaurant received a score of 86 out of 100, placing it 36th in the UK and the highest ranked in the North East.

Ian Waller, head chef at Restaurant Pine, said: “It’s a real honour to feature among the 83 UK restaurants in La Liste 2026.
“Being assessed against restaurants from around the world, and those closer to home that we respect and admire, is incredible, especially being included for the third consecutive year.
“Listings like this recognise what we strive to deliver for our guests, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who helps make Pine a success.
“Thank you to all involved.”
Restaurant Pine was closely followed by The Black Swan at Oldstead, which scored 85.
La Liste, which began in 2015, compiles its rankings using a scoring system based on reviews, guidebooks, and trusted publications.

For its tenth edition, the organisation assessed more than 33,000 restaurants worldwide using 1,150 international sources, including national and regional media, expert guides, and digital platforms.
La Liste has also expanded to include an annual list of the world’s top 1,000 hotels.
In addition to the main rankings, the awards ceremony in Paris also featured special awards for diversity, excellence, creativity, and commitment.
