So you don't need to spend 5k that is good news, then you can have it like a standalone server in small size!

Hello. Can make a video or write somewhere how did you connect the power supply to the server and say the power supply specs?

    Thanks

Hi there. I've just picked a HP Blade enclosure featuring two Xeon blade servers from a dumpster. I couldn't believe it,I feel like winning the home server jackpot. 😉 Can we get in touch over email?. If you google my name you will find the email address I don't think Youtube allows one to put email addresses in comments. Btw: my blade enclosure seems to run on 48V DC with two large round prongs behind labelled "polarity bus A" and "Polarity bus B"

Don't do this.  Just…don't.  If you need a lower cost HP server for home, look at the ML series or even a DL.  Don't make an old BL cry.

Props for the creativity, but all servers are scared of you now.  BL servers go in a chassis for a reason.  Not to mention, that thing will be choked with cat hair within a week.

what is the model of the chassis they fit into and can each server have its own os

This is crazy – Dont call HP support with this configuration. The blades are meant to be used in an C7000 or C3000 enclosures and not as a stand-alone server.

How do you connect ethernet though? As far as I can see this thing does not have integrated NIC's.

Wikipedia, in the Integrated Lights-Out, says that every blade server, since 300c, provides some Ethernet. What do they mean? HP docs also say that there is "LAN port" for iLO and some "internal USB" inside the blade enclosure. Can it be used for the iLO Ethernet connection?

Seen anyone try this with newer G6/G7 bl460c servers?
Also trying to hack in a NIC connector would be nice since i guess the USB port is just USB 2.0 even with newer servers and thats quite slow.

Is this a g1 and if it is still fast for certain tasks? Like what do you run on it?

I'm actually in the process of doing something exactly like this XD . I was wondering what are you using as the adapter and the power for the blade server module? Thank you

Learning Network Cable Management - A Small Business Open Frame Rack Build

In this video I build an open frame network rack from scratch, explaining along the way the each step and the reason I am doing it the way that I am. This is intended for a small business network, not a home residence. I made this video for first time builders, so I try not to assume that you have built a lot of these and that you are looking for some general guidance. With an open frame rack, taking control of the giant pile of wires you end up with is more important than ever – both on the front of the rack and the rear where the cables are entering.

Below are the items I used in this video – these are Amazon links that help me out, but of course you don’t have to use them.
