In today’s video I’m showing you exactly how I built this ultra budget home server, and I’m also explaining to you why I think you should build one as well. I give multiple examples of things to do with a home server including building a NAS, setting up a home media/Plex server, and even how to experiement with Linux with a virtualization platform.

I prefer Emby over Plex, I find it's easier to use, and doesn't come with a bunch of crap you don't need.

you could also use this for extra storage for things that you dont really need at the moment i guess, maybe i should build one that can also run well with a cheaper xeon like the e5-2297, decent ram, ssds and hard drives, and a really cheap nvme. thanks!

might as well just put your old gaming laptop into the rack as server
quite sure it only take 1U size
then attach all the HDDs and network to it
if that pc case isnt taking 8x removable HDDs like a dell poweredge then its just a waste of space

This might be a dumb question but would using mac os or multiple operating systems be possible me and my family do a lot of fine arts so we are Mac users but my brother also does some gaming along with our usual music stuff (so do I if I’m being honest) so I was wondering if I could maybe use multiple operating systems, Mac OS by itself would also work because that will be its main use for me and my family but being able to use multiple systems would be very cool

I believe it would be interesting to see a used computer be purchased. Then, show how to clean the system of any data and how to start over, setting the hard drives up, and what not. Then a matter of actually going through the steps of doing the plaques or Nas or something like that. Are used to work with computers Wayback in the day when they were Commodore Vic 20 use and 64s And could program Brett basic language, but I haven’t done that in so many years I wouldn’t even know where to start and it’s difficult to find a lesson that breaks it down that much for a 65-year-old man that would really like to have a computer server in his home.

Can you please make a video without Windows? Linux for example is just the best because it really shows everything in a terminal while Windows is doing a lot of "Shadow" work.
Linux also haves a desktop (yes almost like Windows but way cooler)

A single board computer is far more kind to your electric bill than a PC like this is. Also if you’re expecting this computer to run 24/7, avoid Windows.

I want to build the jankiest external drive, ever. It will be held together with cardboard. The PSU will be from a pre-build, cheap as hell. It's going to have ancient drives, and then a tiny M.2 to 5x SATA III connections. It's going to be great.

REVIEW Dell EMC PowerEdge MX7000 Chassis | IT Creations

Hi there Doug Stuman with IT Creations. We finally got the Dell EMC PowerEdge MX7000, Dell’s replacement for the M1000 Enclosure. This is a 7U chassis with support for up to 8x single-width server sleds, four double-wide sleds or a combination of the two. If you will recall, the M1000 blade server chassis is a 10U behemoth released in 2012. It offered support for more blades, but this one, even at 7U still offers better performance and capabilities in a smaller space. It’s also designed to support up to 3x new CPU generations from both AMD and Intel, but so far only Intel Xeon Scalable processors are supported. It’s a cost-effective flexible architecture that’s easy to scale-out offering on-demand allocation of compute, storage and networking pools.

Yes, this review of the Dell MX7000 enclosure is a little late in coming but it’s not like we qualify for review units from Dell. And I have tried. Oh yes, I have tried. Modular systems are not new to Dell as there are a few others still in the fold, although admittedly
