iPhone SE 4 to come with Apple’s & Apple A18 SoC

iPhone SE 4 to come with Apple's & Apple A18 SoC

A new report surfaced regarding the upcoming budget iPhones. As a reminder, we’ve recently found out that the phone will launch early next year. And now, some spec info surfaced. The iPhone SE 4 will have the same cameras as the iPhone 15, and the Apple A18 SoC.

The iPhone SE 4 will come with Apple’s very own 5G modem & Apple A18 SoC

That’s not all, however. This report also mentions that Apple’s first 5G modem will finally be ready, and used in this smartphone. That was the original plan, but the iPhone SE 4 launch rumors were all over the place.

The phone itself will look similar to the iPhone 14 but include a single camera on the back. Flat sides will be used, and an OLED display will be placed on the front, complete with a notch. The display resolution will be 2532 x 1170, which is the same as the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 offers.

This also means that the iPhone SE 4 will be the first ‘SE’ model to offer Face ID and the very first model to not have a home key below the display. The past two models used the iPhone 8 design, which is quite dated at this point.

It’s a bit odd that this phone will revert back to a notch, considering that the Dynamic Island has completely taken over. It is what it is, though. Apple probably started working on the device quite some time ago, so… the notch is what we’ll get.

The main and selfie cameras will be identical to the ones on the iPhone 15

In addition to the Apple A18 SoC, this phone will offer 8GB of RAM, it seems. A 48-megapixel main camera will be combined with a 12-megapixel snapper on the front. The cameras will be completely identical to the ones the iPhone 15 offers.

In regards to Apple’s very own model. Some of you probably recall that Apple acquired Intel’s modem division back in 2019. The company wanted to create its own modems to stop being dependent on Qualcomm. Well, after some failures along the way, it seems like one is finally ready.

This new modem is said to “drastically reduce battery consumption”. It remains to be seen how accurate that info is.

"Perfect storm" - CrowdStrike VP apologizes as Congress hearing into outage begins

CrowdStrike, a global leader in endpoint security, incident response and cybersecurity, recently deployed an update to its Falcon sensor for Microsoft Windows systems. This update, designed to enhance the detection of novel threats, inadvertently caused significant malfunctions in the Windows operating system, leading to widespread crashes and system instability.

Notably, Mac and Linux operating systems were unaffected by this issue.

Now might be your last chance to buy an RTX 4090

Now might be your last chance to buy an RTX 4090

There’s no disputing that the RTX 4090 is one of the best graphics cards you can buy, but now might be your last chance to buy it. According to members of the Board Channels forum (via VideoCardz), Nvidia has discontinued the graphics card and will stop fulfilling new orders this month.

We saw this coming. Last month, members of the Board Channels forums signaled that Nvidia was getting ready to discontinue the RTX 4090 to make way for next-gen RTX 50-series GPUs. Nvidia hasn’t said it’s discontinuing the card, and it likely won’t, but some regions are already experiencing shortages and increased prices. The German outlet PC Games Hardware writes: “It is now becoming increasingly clear that the GeForce RTX 4090 … will soon have reached its end of lifetime,” following high prices and “increasingly poor availability” in the region.

The situation isn’t quite as dire in the U.S. You can still find the RTX 4090 in stock at retailers, though only above list price. The Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC, for example, is available at . Other models at the retailer mostly sit above $2,000. On Amazon, you can find the .

Given that the RTX 4090 is only selling above list price, and that rumors point to the RTX 5090 launching soon, now is definitely not a good time to buy the RTX 4090. However, it might be the last time we’ll see it available at current prices if the discontinuation discussion holds any weight. Given that Nvidia is clearly winding down this generation, it would make sense for the company to stop supplying the RTX 4090, but it’s tough to say with certainty if that’s happening now or later in the year.

Outside of the flagship, the Board Channels members say the RTX 4080 Super will be discontinued next month. If you recall, Nvidia replaced the original RTX 4080 with the Super refresh. The two GPUs are basically identical, but the Super refresh released for $1,000 — $200 less than the original design, which almost felt like an apology to gamers for that card’s high pricing. Despite the lower list price, limited stock of the original RTX 4080 meant that the Super refresh rarely sold for its list price.

Although Nvidia will likely discontinue both models soon, if it hasn’t already, it’ll take a while for that to show up through retailers. Add-in board partners (AIBs) have likely placed their final orders and will continue to supply retailers with new units — however, over the course of a few months, there’s a good chance the RTX 4090 will start to disappear from store shelves.

YouTube says channel removals & bans were a mistake

Published

on

Featured image for YouTube Premium price increases yet again in several countries

YouTube experienced a bizarre technical glitch on October 3 which resulted in it removing channels and banning accounts by mistake. Interestingly, the incident took place the same day the company announced some major changes coming to YouTube Shorts.

YouTube acknowledges that channel removal and account ban was a mistake

Users around the globe reported that YouTube flagged their channel and account for “spam, deceptive practices, and scams policy.” To our surprise, users who never uploaded videos on YouTube have also lost access to their accounts due to this mistake.

Since users have lost access to their account, they haven’t been able to watch YouTube videos or listen to YouTube Music. What’s worse is that some YouTube Premium subscribers have also lost access to their saved playlists and other content.

YouTube was quick enough to address this mistake after the issue spread like wildfire on social media. In a support thread post, YouTube acknowledged that it is aware of the erroneous account ban and channel deletion. The company further said that it is working continuously to fix it.

The post reads “Our teams are continuing to work on reinstating all removed channels and your access to paid subscriptions (YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, YouTube Music). We are very sorry for this error on our part and we’ll follow up here when it’s done.”

Users can appeal to get their removed channel and banned account back

YouTube has apparently sent emails to users to communicate the account ban or channel removal. Further, the company mentioned that those affected can appeal to get back account access and reinstate their removed channels.

YouTube ban channel removed

Fortunately, the appeal process is reportedly helping users as many users have got their own banned YouTube channels back. However, some are still complaining that they are not able to see their playlists. YouTube has also addressed this situation in the same post.

According to the post, if you just got your removed channel back, you might find some content and playlists missing. YouTube says it’s a normal delay and you don’t have to worry. Moreover, the company further mentions that everything will get back in place after a while.
