Industry star Marisa Abela has questioned the BBC’s decision to edit out a scene in the show’s final season.

The hit HBO drama, which follows a group of young graduates navigating the cut-throat finance world in London, has earned critical acclaim since airing its first season in 2020.

The series, a co-production between HBO and BBC, has gained a reputation as the “wildest” show on television thanks to its hard-partying characters and frequent sex scenes.

In a new interview with The Times, one of the show’s stars spoke about the season three scene that was considered too explicit for British viewers.

Abela, 27, stars as Yasmin Kara-Hanani, the privileged daughter of a publishing billionaire Charles Hanani (played by Adam Levy).

In the first episode of the third season, which aired in the US in August, viewers glimpsed an erect penis belonging to Charles caught in a sexual encounter with a pregnant member of staff on his superyacht.

The explicit scene, however, was cut by the BBC when the series finally landed in the UK this week (1 October).

When asked about the omission from the British broadcast by The Times, Abela questioned: “What are they going to do, put something else over the top of it?”

“Are they going to blur it out?” she continued. “It is quite shocking, to be fair. But that’s not the point.”

She also argued that the inclusion of the penis was not gratuitous as it demonstrates the dysfunctional dynamic between her character and her father.

Elsewhere in the interview, Abela spoke about her own sex scenes in the series.

“I don’t necessarily push back on the sex. I understand that it’s part of the show,” she said. “I think I’m just more careful now about what it is that’s being seen.”

Abela, who recently starred as Amy Winehouse in the controversial biopic of the musician Back to Black, said of appearing nude: “The nudity aspect is not something that I minded in season one or two – it was like, ‘If it’s in my contract, I’ll do it.’

“It was part of Yasmin and part of the fact that she was so comfortable with herself and she’s very free. And it didn’t have a lot of emotional weight for me.”

“It’s not like anyone would have made me do something that I didn’t want to do, but I didn’t necessarily want to question the directors,” she said.

“But I think now I’m more aware of the implications of doing it over and over again. And I’m more aware that I have the ability to say, ‘Do you mind staying on my back rather than coming round the front? You get the idea from my back that I’m not wearing anything.’”

In a four-star review of Industry season three, The Independent’s TV critic Nick Hilton wrote: “For people wanting a quiet evening in front of the telly, Industry is a terrible option. It’s relentless, nasty, sexy, vulgar, and all the other adjectives generally reserved for TripAdvisor reviews of Berghain.”

But in recent weeks rumors’ of a romantic reunion have started to swirl and now Tommy has admitted that he only has eyes for Molly Mae.

In an interview with the Mail, the 25-year-old revealed that the couple still love each other. He said: “It is proper love. Do I still love Molly. 100 per cent. I will love her until my final breath.”

And the boxer even said that he’ll find to win her back. He said: “100 per cent. I know what I have to do in order to resolve things. And that’s down to me. Nobody else can do that other than me.”

The couple who met on Love Island in 2019 have a one-year-old daughter Bambi together and created a joint home and lifestyle brand that is thought to be worth around 9 million.

But after they announced their split, speculation was rife that Tommy had cheated, a claim he now vehemently denies.

“I think if you were going to cheat on someone you should just sit down and say, ‘I don’t love you any more’, clearly, because you want to go and pursue other people.

‘When you get to that stage, I think you should just call it a day. If you want to go out there and have affairs with women then you definitely shouldn’t be with your partner. Definitely not. And have I ever reached that point? No.”

The boxer has chosen to break his silence ahead of the release his autobiography, Lightening Can Strike Twice.

The Sun recently exclusively reported how crisis meetings surrounding the future of Tommy’s first book were being held.

The price of his book — Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury, which is due for release later this month — had already been slashed by 50 per cent on Amazon from £25 to £12.50.

Insiders at the time said the team behind it were trying to work out a way forward.

A source said: “There’s major concern over the impact of the revelations. The price has been reduced already and this new storm is making it harder to sell — especially given all his gushing about his life with Molly-Mae and their daughter Bambi.

“Without a new chapter, the book is outdated. Meetings are ongoing about what can be done to turn it around.”

Meanwhile, Molly-Mae previously told her YouTube following that – despite being candid with them through the years – she would not be addressing the nitty gritty details of her relationship breakdown.

In another video, she then showcased her positive outlook – and slammed rumours suggesting the couple will reunite.

She chatted to fans from a hotel room in Cannes where she was attending a wedding and said: “This next chapter of my life, and this next one with Maebe, I honestly feel it will be the best yet.”

A brief moment on Phillip Schofield’s comeback to British television on Channel 5’s Cast Away, has left viewers looking away from the television.

The disgraced formerThis Morning presenter has made his return to television for the first time in 16 months, spending 10 days on an island off the coast of Madagascar.

The 62-year-old, left ITV last year after admitting he had lied about having a consensual relationship with a younger man, who worked as a runner on This Morning.

In the final episode of the show, Schofield finally decided that after more than a week on the island, that he would go for a swim in the ocean.

However, viewers were shocked when they saw Schofield sprinting past the camera at night with absolutely nothing on, with his campfire lighting up his backside, leaving almost nothing to the imagination.

This was shortly after Schofield had made a list of all the people that he considered to be “toxic” in his life before throwing the piece of paper in the fire.

Although it was only a brief glimpse, viewers couldn’t help but be taken aback. One asked: “Did we really have to see Philip Schofield’s naked bottom?”

A second said: “I need to bleach my eyes. I just saw Philip Schofield’s bare ass on my TV.”

A third wrote: “No way have I just seen Phillip Schofield naked running into the sea.”

Another viewer noted: “Honestly, the fact that it took Schofield ten days to have a swim in that beautiful sea tells me all I need to know about him.”

Elsewhere in the final episode, Schofield claimed he was “fired for someone else’s crime,” insinuating that he was sacked for crimes committed by his brother.

Schofield said that he refused “to name and refuse to acknowledge” his sibling and that he had “absolutely no qualms whatsoever in shopping” to police, who he said had “praised” him for getting “justice done”.

Schofield went on to say: “My phone rang and I picked it up, ‘mate, are you somewhere quiet’ which is never a good sign,’I’ve got a bit of a shock, I’m afraid you’ve been let go from This Morning’. What? ‘Yeah that’s it, it’s done. You’re not going back on Monday’.

“What? because of what? ‘Think it’s the publicity, mate’, that’s got nothing to do with me, that has nothing to do with me. Why would I be sacked for something someone else did? I’ve just been fired because of him. Because I was becoming more of a story than the programme.”

At the end of the Channel 5 programme, Schofield said he was undecided on whether he would return to presenting.

Beginning to tear up, he said: “Now I’m not saying I’m done but you know, never in a million years will I go back to daytime telly. I’ve lived a hundred TV lives.”

At the end of the programme, Schofield could be seen reuniting with his daughter Molly, 31, and their dog, with Molly saying she was “proud to say he’s my dad”.
