According to Bethenny Frankel, who briefly dated Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson, he believed from the very beginning that his former wife would end up marrying Prince Harry.

His early certainty, revealed through candid text exchanges, has now resurfaced, adding a fascinating layer to the story of Meghan’s transformation from TV actress to duchess.

Bethenny Frankel, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of New York” and as the founder of Skinnygirl, has revealed that she got to know Engelson around the time Meghan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry first became public in 2016.

She admitted she didn’t recognize Meghan’s name at all when Engelson first mentioned her.

“He said his ex was a woman from a show called Suits. I didn’t know what the show was. I didn’t know the woman,” Frankel recalled per the Daily Mail during an episode of “The Toast,” a podcast with Claudia Oshry.

Everything changed months later when Bethenny Frankel spotted photos circulating online showing Prince Harry dating someone new.

She immediately reached out to Engelson, texting, “Is this your ex?” His response was simple and direct: “Yup.”

That set off a second question, one that now feels remarkably prophetic. Bethenny asked him, “Do you think she’s going to close?” meaning, would Meghan ultimately marry into royalty?

According to Frankel, Engelson didn’t hesitate. His answer was full of certainty: “Oh, she’ll close.”

She repeated his confidence, adding, “I don’t want to get into more about that, but he was like, ‘She’ll close.’”

Less than two years later, Engelson’s prediction unfolded exactly as he foresaw, with Meghan and Prince Harry saying “I do” at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Long before stepping into royal life, Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson shared more than a decade together.

They began dating in 2004 and married in 2011. Their relationship ultimately ended in 2013, with a divorce finalized in 2014 due to “irreconcilable differences.”

Images showing the couple at the event were posted, then mysteriously deleted.

Frankel claimed the removal happened at the Sussexes’ request, suggesting they “didn’t want the public to see them ‘hobnobbing with the Kardashians’.”

She also commented, “Meghan is trying to be so many different things.”

Frankel’s critical stance isn’t new.
