Second teenager dies days after A19 crash in Sunderland

Emergency services were called to the A19 northbound just after 11pm last Monday (November 24) following a crash involving a yellow Vauxhall Corsa.

It was reported that, for reasons not yet known, the car left the carriageway and crashed between the B1404 at Seaham and the A690 Herrington Interchange.

The male driver of the Corsa and the female passenger were found to have sustained serious injuries in the collision and despite the efforts of paramedics, the girl, aged 17, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was left fighting for his life in hospital following the horror crash.
