The plane crash that killed 179 people and left two survivors was South Korea’s worst commercial airline disaster. Authorities retrieved the two black boxes, or flight recorders, which are expected to give them critical information about the final moments before the plane exploded as it landed on a regional airport tarmac in the nation’s south. The investigation is focusing on an apparent landing-gear failure and bird strike.
