Helen Flanagan opens up about Christmas struggles and sends love

The former Coronation Street star admitted that co-parenting is “really hard” as her three children – Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie – will be with their dad, footballer Scott Sinclair, on December 25.

Helen, who is set to star as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, posted a message to her 1 million plus followers after making special memories with her children before rehearsals begin.

Posting photos from LaplandUK’s new Manchester experience, Helen, who grew up in Bolton, wrote:
“Had the most incredible time @laplanduk Manchester that has just opened this year. It was honestly amazing and was so good for all ages – really special.”

“I start rehearsing panto tomorrow and then that is me basically for the whole of Christmas- Evil Queen mode – so was nice to do something special with my children before hand. “@laplanduk was magical and I loved seeing the kids faces, especially Delilah.”

She added: “There’s no sugar coating it, co-parenting (I hate calling it this) is s**t. It’s really hard and I hate it. This year is their dad’s year to have the children on Christmas Day as we live so far away from each other.”

Helen plans to spend the day with her parents and later with her best friend, who also co-parents. “I’ve planned a Christmas where I will have fun and I will be busy, especially with panto,” she said.

Her heartfelt message to others: “Sending love to anyone that finds this time hard – those missing loved ones, those whose loved ones are unwell, and those with complicated family situations.”

Helen will also appear in The Memory of Water at Bolton’s Octagon Theatre in the new year, alongside fellow Corrie star Vicky Binns.
