Swamp People star Troy Landry has been cited and charged with two counts of âfailing to tag an alligator upon taking,â according to a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries incident report.
Landry rose to fame as a cast member on the History Channel reality series, which follows a group of alligator hunters in the swamp region of Louisiana.
The well-known alligator hunter, 64, is said to have been discovered hunting without the proper alligator tags in Lake Palourde, located in St Mary Parish, per local news station WAFB.
Issued by the LDWF, the alligator tags are required for licensed hunters to harvest alligators in the state and are property-specific. The number of tags issued is based on the number of alligators estimated to be in that particular area. The tags must remain affixed to the alligator until itâs processed.
The report states that the department initially received a tip about a group of individuals hunting in the area without proper hunting permits.
Last month, two agents were sent out to stake the area where they are reported to have seen Landry and two other people, including âan unidentified cameraman,â show up to the area by boat.
The agents later discovered that Landry did, in fact, have a hunting permit for the property but allegedly did not have the correct alligator tags for the area.
âMr Landry also admitted that prior to the agents making contact with him, he cut a dead âstiffâ alligator loose from his line and let it float away,â the report states.
It adds that the agents found the dead alligator floating in the water âwith the same line hanging from its mouth as the rest of Mr Landryâs lines.â

He has been hit with two citations that each carry a potential fine of up to $950 and up to 120 days in prison: one for improperly tagging an alligator and the other for the dead alligator.
Speaking to WAFB, Landry said he had ânothing to sayâ about the charges. âI got a speeding ticket also last month but I have nothing to say about it,â he added.
The Independent has contacted the History Channel for comment.
Nicknamed âKing of the Swamp,â Landry âconsistently fills more tags than any swamper in Louisiana,â his network bio reads.
âAs the son of a fisherman and seafood distributor, Troy has gator hunting in his blood,â it adds. âTogether with his sons, Jacob and Chase, and a host of family and friends, the Landry gang runs an armada of boats each season to help control the gator population.â

Toyah Willcox took an awkward swipe at her fellow Strictly star Chris McCausland in an uncomfortable moment on Strictly: It Takes Two.
It came as Toyah was being interviewed alongside her pro partner Neil Jones after getting the boot on Sunday night’s show.

Toyah was eliminated after being in the dance off against Paul Merson, and made a pit stop at the spin-off show tonight to reflect on her time in the competition.
Host Fleur East asked her: “You are such a tightknit group as well this year, do you have any advice or tips for the other celebs?”
Toyah laughed and started clapping, before pointing at the camera and shouting: “If you don’t want to do a dance off, get rid of Chris!”
She then cackled and fell into Neil’s lap while Neil and Fleur looked on and laughed awkwardly.
Fleur then looked off camera and grimaced while Toyah then clarified: “You are all going to have to face a dance off.”
Attempting to move the conversation on, Neil then quipped: “I think she has chosen her winner already.”
Chris has proved a favourite on the show so far and he and partner Dianne Buswell scored 30 points at the weekend for their Wayne’s World inspired performance.
Toyah’s surprising comment did not going unnoticed by viewers watching at home, who took to social media to react.
One wrote on X: “Was Toyah trying to throw Chris under the bus!!”
A second chipped in: Was it panic I saw on their faces when Toyah said âget rid of Chris if you donât want to do a dance off â âŠlittle does she realise Chris is a 100x better dancer than she waViwVis and he is there on merit.”
A third fumed: “That was such a nasty dig Toyah just made at Chris. Malicious, vicious and jealous. Good riddance you old bag!”
And a fourth said: “Toyah was a bit mean about Chris on it takes two.”
On a lighter note, Neil was full of praise for Toyah as he was asked to give her some parting words.
He said: ” See you soon, you are not getting rid of me. You have got me for life now.
He continued: “Toyah has been brilliant. We have laughed so much, we have had so much fun and we have had some really great conversations as well.”
Strictly continues on Saturday night at 6.20pm on BBC One.

Call Her Daddy host Alexandra Cooper said she knew her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris would divide her fanbase but has defended the sit-down.
The Democratic presidential nominee appeared on the mega-popular sex-positive podcast series in an episode that aired Sunday, less than a month before the election. In a clip that played before the interview, Cooper explained her decision to have Harris on the show.
âAs you guys know, I do not usually discuss politics or have politicians on the show because I want Call Her Daddy to be a place that everyone feels comfortable tuning in,â she said in a piece to the camera.
She continued: âI talk about topics like mental health, relationships, sex, sexuality, trauma. Overall, my focus is women and the day-to-day issues that we face⊠At the end of the day, I couldnât see a world in which one of the main conversations of this election is women and Iâm not a part of it.â
She also addressed the fact that her listeners are ideologically diverse. Call Her Daddy was formerly owned by the conservative media company Barstool Sports until Cooper signed a distribution deal with Spotify in 2021 worth $60m (it is now distributed by SiriusXM).
âI am so aware I have a very mixed audience when it comes to politics,â she said. âMy goal today is not to change your political affiliation.â
Cooper added that her crew had reached out to Harrisâs opponent Donald Trump.
âIf he also wants to have a meaningful and in-depth conversation about womenâs rights in this country, then he is welcome on Call Her Daddy anytime,â she said.
Despite the explanation, comments on Cooperâs Instagram were flooded with angry Trump supporters, some of whom called her interview with Harris âpropaganda.â
âAlex, you should know your fan base is mostly conservatives. Trump 2024,â one comment read.
âOne of my most favorite podcasts and now Iâll never listen again. unbelievable,â read another.
âIâm so disappointed, this feels like propaganda and trying to make her look âgen z,ââ a third person wrote.

In a follow-up video, Cooper took fans behind the scenes for her interview with the vice president.
There, she acknowledged: âI totally understand everyone has different political opinions, but I feel really good that the entire episode is about women.â
During the episode, Harris responded to Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders saying âmy kids keep me humbleâ and that âunfortunately, Kamala Harris doesnât have anything keeping her humble.â
âI feel sorry for [her],â Harris told Cooper.
âI donât think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who, one, are not aspiring to be humble, two, a whole lot of women out here who have a lot of love in their life, family in their life, and children in their life,â she added. âAnd I think itâs really important for women to lift each other up.â
Cooper also asked Harris to respond to Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vanceâs comment that the âentire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.â
Harris told Cooper she thought the remark was âmean and mean-spirited.â
âI think that most Americans want leaders who understand that the measure of their strength is not based on who you beat down, the real measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up,â she added.

I was actually waiting for the review of the qled series tvs from the tech channels and I am glad I have seen this video. Absolutely spot on and detailed review of all the specs and areas. Just one question, does the display quality match to the Sonys and Samsungs qleds that cost over 1.3L rupees? And if not, how much close the the mi qled tv go to the Sonys and Samsungs with respect to display quality?
