The Four Codes of a Vacation Wardrobe
Montce Bikini, Farm Rio Pants, Magda Butrym Head Scarf, Eliou Necklace
My most recent trip was the kind where the house set the mood before the suitcase was unpacked. We stayed at Casa Rosada in Sayulita, a Summer Thornton-designed house full of color and texture, with pink walls, tiled corners, woven details, and an indoor-outdoor ease that makes everything feel more vacation the second you walk in.
Once I hung everything up, my closet became a little moodboard of its own. Brightly colored swim, tropical printed dresses, raffia and shell details, all of it felt right at home. The look that set the tone, a butterfly bikini top with yellow-and-white printed pants and a crochet headscarf, was the kind of outfit that could only live by the sea.
That spirit carried through everything I packed, and it kept coming back to four codes that, to me, make a vacation wardrobe.
Swim That Dresses Up
The bikini that goes straight from the pool to a long lunch, paired with a printed pant, a beaded necklace, or a wrap skirt. The suit with enough personality to be the outfit.
The Tropical-Print Dress
The dress that does the most with the least effort. The right print holds its own against green palms, pink casita walls, and the wash of a late sunset.
A Textural Moment
Raffia, shells, woven details, sculptural extras. Texture is what gives a vacation look its dimension. A raffia-trimmed bag, a beaded fish clutch, a pair of shell earrings.
The Pareo
The piece that keeps changing the plan. Tie it as a skirt over a bikini, twist it into a top with linen pants, wear it as a wrap once the evening cools down. The easiest way to infuse the unhurried energy of vacation into your look.

I didn’t have time to finish the lounge portion of the big NHYS sale yesterday — but it’s good! These sweater pants from Bare Necessities look great for a cold winter night lounging around the house. There are lots of sizes left (as with everything that I pictured yesterday), and the prices are great: the pants were $138, but now come down to $55-$59. (Ooh: this very similar style is a nice basic black.)
Other nice options for lounge include lots of options from Frank & Eileen, Spanx, Zella, Beyond Yoga, and even a few colors from Vuori and Varley. You can also find sale PJs from Lunya and Moonlight. And of course great lingerie sales from Natori, Wacoal, Hanky Panky, and Commando.

On the Scene at the amfAR Cannes Gala: Eva Longoria in Red Sophie Couture, Heidi Klum in Black Corseted Sophie Couture, Zara Larsson in Roberto Cavalli, and More!
The stars stepped out in statement-making looks for the amfAR Cannes Gala during the Cannes Film Festival, serving dramatic silhouettes, vibrant color palettes, and couture craftsmanship on the red carpet. From sculpted gowns to flowing chiffon and crystal embellishments, celebrities embraced high glamour for one of the festival’s most anticipated nights.
Eva Longoria arrived in a red Sophie Couture gown featuring a strapless neckline, crystal embellishments, and a fitted mermaid silhouette. The textured gown was paired with diamond jewelry and soft waves, creating a monochromatic red carpet moment for the gala.
Heidi Klum posed with her son Henry and her Husband wearing a black Sophie Couture gown with a structured corset bodice, lace-up detailing, and an exaggerated ball skirt. The dramatic silhouette combined sheer lace accents with voluminous proportions, giving the look a couture-inspired finish.
Zara Larsson stepped onto the carpet in a Roberto Cavalli Spring 2006 vintage gown featuring gradient shades of orange, yellow, and green with cutout detailing and flowing chiffon panels. The draped silhouette and bold color palette delivered a resort-inspired statement for Cannes.
Lizzo made an appearance in a blue Robert Wun ensemble featuring sculptural curves, matching gloves, and diamond-inspired embellishments layered across the bodice. Statement jewelry and a short layered hairstyle completed the monochromatic look.
Whose look was your favorite?

Cart Confidential Vol. 38 – Julia Berolzheimer
One look at my cart this week and it’s clear summer has officially arrived (or at least it’s right around the corner!). The color palette feels sun-kissed, in rich oranges and moss greens, with little touches of fringe, wood, and mesh that make everything feel more special up close. We’ve officially settled into the time of year where I’m gravitating toward pieces that feel really easy but still have something charming about them.
For the littles, it’s warm weather pieces with ruffles, embroidery, and crochet. The girls have been very into my seashell jewelry lately, so this DIY necklace-making kit felt like the perfect summer craft for the girls, something sweet they can make their own.
For the house, I’m drawn to texture you can actually see and feel, especially in pieces that work for outdoor entertaining. Lunch by the pool has become the plan of choice these days, so anything with a woven edge or a burst of color feels like the easiest way to make a tablescape feel intentional.

Frugal Friday’s Workwear Report: Ponte Pencil Skirt
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
I love using a long weekend for a closet purge. In my most recent cleanout, I discovered that some of my favorite basics needed a bit of a refresh after many years of dedicated service. If you’re looking for wardrobe workhorses on a budget, Nordstrom Rack is your girl.
This ponte pencil skirt isn’t going to be the most exciting thing in your closet, but you’ll be glad to have it when you need an outfit that looks professional and put-together. (For the OG readers, I dare say that it reminds me a bit of The Skirt from days of yore.)
The skirt is $24.87 at Nordstrom Rack and comes in sizes XS-XL.
