GPSSA streamlines eight core services under Zero Government Bureaucracy drive
The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has overhauled eight of its main customer services as part of the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, reducing paperwork, shortening processing times and making key procedures easier for insured individuals and employers.
Announcing the reforms on Thursday (4 December 2025), the Authority said the transformation supports a nationwide push to simplify government services and reduce administrative burdens. The changes apply to employer registration, insured individual registration, contribution payments and several pensions and benefits services for civilian and military customers.
The update also covers beneficiary registration, issuing “to whom it may concern” certificates and pension entitlement updates.
GPSSA streamlines services under Zero Bureaucracy
Hind Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Pensions Sector and Head of the Zero Bureaucracy Team at GPSSA, said the Authority had redesigned and integrated procedures to provide “a faster, simpler and more efficient” customer experience. She noted that the work aligns with the UAE’s plan to cut service requirements and streamline interactions with government entities.
Al Suwaidi said the reforms were driven by digital transformation and increased data integration. GPSSA can now consolidate similar processes, exchange data automatically with partnering government bodies and use stored records without requesting documents again from customers. She added that eliminating unnecessary steps and simplifying remaining requirements had significantly reduced the time needed to complete services.
The Authority said the transformation has been enabled by the Ma’ashi platform, which supports proactive data exchange and automation across government systems. GPSSA is working through a series of strategic partnerships to improve the accuracy of information flows, reduce repeated documentation and allow services to be completed digitally whenever possible.
According to GPSSA, the changes will benefit employers by reducing the number of steps involved in registering establishments and processing contribution payments. Insured individuals will also see faster procedures when updating pension details, registering beneficiaries or applying for entitlement services.
Al Suwaidi said GPSSA remained committed to continuous improvements in service delivery and to expanding smart solutions that anticipate customer needs. She described the latest updates as part of a broader effort to ensure that public services remain “easy, smart and proactive” while supporting national goals for efficient government.
The Authority plans to continue reviewing procedures to identify further opportunities to remove bureaucracy and enhance customer satisfaction across its pension and social security services.
