Ruben Amorim Has Ruined Kobbie Mainoo’s Man Utd Career
One Manchester United star has no choice but to leave the club after the latest snub from Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils faced West Ham United in the Premier League on Thursday night in a contest that they drew 1-1. Despite going a goal up and appearing to be in control, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side fought back to level the game to leave Man United reeling at how they let the lead slip away.
While a number of first team stars failed to impress on the pitch, Amorim held firm regarding one star who didn’t make it onto the pitch at Old Trafford and as a result, will surely be looking to force an exit next month.
Kobbie Mainoo Will Be Raging At Man United Situation
Named as a sub for Manchester United against West Ham was Kobbie Mainoo, a player who is now incredibly well acquainted with the Old Trafford benches.
Hailed as a ‘complete’ player, the young midfielder has made just 10 appearances for Man United this term, starting just once and getting just 261 minutes of action in all competitions.
It’s clear that Amorim has made his mind up on Mainoo. Despite the Red Devils looking to see out the game in the second half against West Ham, the 20-year-old failed to make it off the bench against the Hammers.
It’s this sort of snub that will inevitably lead him to consider his future next month.
Mainoo Destined For Man United Exit Next Month
It’s painfully clear what the future holds for Kobbie Mainoo: He needs to move on.
Once regarded as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young players, the 20-year-old’s career has stalled since the arrival of Amorim as head coach and that is a real shame.
Mainoo is far too good to be sitting on the bench every week. Even worse than that, Mainoo has only played more than 30 minutes on two occasions in the Premier League this term, which clearly indicates that he’s not in the Portuguese boss’s plans.
The midfielder is adamant that he wants to leave in January and I’m sure that there will be no shortage of potential suitors for his signature from the Premier League and around Europe.
It remains to be seen how much he will cost, but Mainoo has to play football in the second half of the season and that means that the Red Devils simply have to let him leave – whether it’s on a permanent deal or on loan.
