Arada awards AED2.7bn in contracts to deliver Masaar 2 in Sharjah
Arada has awarded AED2.7 billion in contracts to build Masaar 2, its second large-scale forested community in Sharjah, as the developer moves to deliver 1,997 homes across four phases and keep the project on schedule for first handovers in 2027.
In a statement on Thursday (4 December 2025), the company said the package covers full construction, infrastructure, site preparation and consultancy services for the 10.5 million square foot masterplan in the Rowdat district.
Three construction firms and four consultancy companies have been appointed to execute the works.
Arada advances Masaar 2 development
UAE firms Intermass Engineering & Contracting and Pivot Engineering & General Contracting will construct all residential units. Intermass will lead phases one, three and four, while Pivot will deliver phase two. Both companies have previously worked on the first Masaar masterplan. Arada said full completion of Masaar 2 is expected by June 2028.
Group CEO Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said the project is on track to be “one of the fastest community completions in the UAE”, noting that the developer remains committed to “on-time delivery and world-class quality”.
Enabling works across the site have already been completed by Darwish Engineering Emirates, which will now take on all infrastructure works, including roads, utilities, public spaces and a range of amenities such as a swimmable forest lagoon and wellness facilities.
Dewan Architects + Engineers designed all four phases, while CRTKL developed the masterplan concept. Parsons Overseas Limited completed the infrastructure design and supervision, and DAR has been appointed as supervision consultant through to final delivery in 2028.
Masaar 2 launched in February 2025 and sold out within hours, generating AED5.6 billion in transactions. The strong response underscores investor demand in Sharjah’s expanding property market, according to Arada. The nature-focused project includes a green spine planted with 40,000 trees and a range of amenities centred on wellbeing and outdoor living.
Arada has since launched Masaar 3, the largest in the series, comprising 4,000 homes across eight phases. The original Masaar masterplan features 3,000 homes set within a 19 million square foot forested landscape. Half of that community has already been delivered along with key facilities, with full completion scheduled for the end of 2026.
Arada, founded in 2017, has launched ten communities in the UAE and expanded into the UK and Australia.
