Met Office issue yellow weather warning for rain in Darlington
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in the North-east from 12am Tuesday, December 9, to 3pm the same day.
Forecasters say downpours could lead to disruption, particularly to travel and there is a chance of flooding to homes and businesses.
Parts of Darlington, Durham and Northumberland are under the yellow weather warning.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Outbreaks of rain will become persistent and heavy on Tuesday morning, before clearing into the afternoon.
“Given the saturated nature of the ground, this is likely to lead to some flooding in places and transport disruption.
“Rain will also be accompanied by strengthening south to southwesterly winds, with gusts in excess of 60 mph possible over high ground, which may exacerbate impacts, especially on routes across the Pennines.”
