German referee Felix Zwayer has been assigned to Inter’s Champions League showdown with Liverpool, while Atalanta vs. Chelsea will be officiated by Spaniard Alejandro Hernandez.
They both kick off on Tuesday evening at 21.00 GMT in Matchday 6 of the Champions League.
San Siro will be packed out for the big game between Inter and Liverpool, with an atmosphere for the headline occasion.
UEFA have chosen Zwayer for this test, assisted by Robert Kempter and Christian Dietz, with Martin Petersen as the fourth official.
The VAR team are also German, Soren Storks and Christian Dingert. Zwayer likes a red card, flashing one in each of his three Champions League games this season, including Manchester City 2-0 Napoli and Chelsea 5-1 Ajax.
Inter are unbeaten with Zwayer, seeing three victories and a 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven.
Liverpool won two of their three games under this referee, losing 1-0 at Real Madrid in 2023.
Atalanta welcome Chelsea to the New Balance Arena, as it is now called, in Bergamo under new coach Raffaele Palladino.
Spanish referee Alejandro Hernandez takes the whistle, with assistants Jose Naranjo, Diego Sanchez Rojo, and fourth official Alejandro Muniz. The VAR officials are also Spanish, Cesar Soto Grado and Guillermo Cuadra Fernandez.
His only game with Atalanta was a 2-1 Europa League win away to Sporting CP in October 2023.
On the other hand, Chelsea lost their match with this referee, 2-1 at home to Legia Warsaw in the Conference League quarter-final in April 2025.
