Francesca Ragazzi, who has been at the helm of Vogue Italia since 2021, might just be starting to find her footing as editor-in-chief. After all, covers (both good and bad) over the past few months have granted us Linda Evangelista, Monica Bellucci, and Lana Del Rey as cover stars. Last month, Ragazzi closed out 2024 with models like Anok Yai, Alex Consani and Amelia Gray having a blast before the lens of Rafael Pavarotti. To kick-start 2025, Damiano David is ushered in as a Vogue Italia cover star for January. The Italian singer and songwriter is teamed up with photographer Steven Klein for the occasion, complete with Matthew Ellenberger on styling duties. In the cover photograph (shot on location at Chateau Marmont), David gazes down Klein’s lens donning a look from the Dsquared2 Menswear Spring 2025 collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Too bad they didn’t do something sexier with him. I guess the outcome is… OK. Much better than the December covers,” noted Xone upon checking out the cover.
“Did they want to do a BDSM theme but suddenly change their minds?” asked JohannesL.
“I love that he’s on the cover. However, I was expecting more from Klein. I feel like Damiano David would have been game for something riskier than this,” kokobombon chimed in.
Guimon felt the same way. “I love Damiano. I was excited when I saw Steven Klein in the thread title, but I’m so disappointed with the results,” they echoed.
Yet not everyone was left so unsatisfied. “Well, this is a decent cover,” confessed zacatecas570.
“The colors are rich, good angles, something of a narrative. Thank GOD we still have Klein doing atmospheric photos that evoke something,” Alquimista enthused.
