Miriam Margolyes Says What Many Harry Potter Fans Are Thinking About New Show

Earlier this year, production got underway on a new TV adaptation of the Harry Potter books, with one season being dedicated to each of the seven novels in the series.

“Well, you have to widen to include other books, as well,” she offered, pointing out that while Harry Potter “wasn’t part of my childhood”, it was “part of my bank balance”.

Jordan then asked the former Call The Midwife star if she’d been invited to be in the new Harry Potter series, to which she responded: “No, and I wouldn’t have accepted.”

“I don’t see why they need to make another one, I thought it was perfectly good as it was,” she continued.

“But I suppose it’s the endless search for money. And they don’t need it! The people who were the producers, they made a fortune.”

Miriam isn’t the only one who’s voiced this opinion about the new Harry Potter series, though.
