Marvel Is About To Ruin Hollywood’s Best New Actress
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Obsession is an amazing film for many reasons. This includes director Curry Barker, who parlayed his experience as a YouTube filmmaker into becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest new directors. It also includes Michael Johnston, whose performance as Bear helps him fully straddle the line between sympathetic protagonist and not-so-secret villain. However, it’s an open secret that the best part of Obsession is breakout star Inde Navarette, who plays Nikki. She can delight and terrify with a single change of her facial expression in a performance that might as well be a magic trick. One moment, she’s the cute girl next door; the next moment, she’s the scariest thing you’ve ever seen.
After Obsession became a massive hit (one that beat heavy hitters like The Mandalorian and Grogu and Supergirl at the box office), everyone had the same question: “what will Navarette do next?” Now, we may have the answer, and it’s more frightening than anything in her hit horror film. In a recent interview, she indicated that she’d like to star in a Marvel movie, and she even met with Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier, who is working on his upcoming X-Men film. For a young actor, becoming a Marvel mainstay is the opportunity of a lifetime. Realistically, though, this would ruin her career by tying her to a decade or more of making superhero slop.
A Scar Is Born

Recently, Obsession star Inde Navarette gave an interview to Nylon, one which covered much of the actor’s career. Eventually, they spoke about her future ambitions, and the outlet asked the actor if she’d like to star in a Marvel film. Her response? “I would.” When the outlet asked about dream directors she’d love to work with, Navarette mentioned Jake Schreier, who is poised to become one of Marvel’s biggest movers and shakers. He has already made the critically beloved The Thunderbolts, and he’s going to be directing the first X-Men movie for the MCU.
To be clear, Inde Navarette has not been officially offered any contract with Marvel, and it may simply be a coincidence that she wants to star in this cinematic universe and met one of its biggest directors. However, nobody can deny that getting this Obsession star into his X-Men movie would be a major coup for Schreier. Previously, MCU guru Kevin Feige confirmed that the X-Men movie will have a young cast to appeal to “a younger demographic.” At 25 years old and insanely popular, Navarrette would be the perfect addition to this upcoming mutant movie. Unfortunately, that might very well sabotage her career in the long term.
Marvel’s Latest Heroine?

Why is that? In that same Nylon interview, she discussed her desire to prove that she’s not some one-hit wonder. “I really want to prove that Obsession wasn’t just lightning in a bottle,” she said. “This is something that I really love and want to continue doing, but of course that’s going to take time. I want people to take that time to trust that I have that capability.” In other words, she wants to take on more challenging roles and prove she can keep rising to the occasion. But that will never happen if she signs a contract with Marvel.
That’s because, for bigger actors taking on bigger roles, Marvel Studios notoriously makes these performers sign 10-year contracts. That’s enough time, the thinking goes, to have them headline at least three of their own films and appear in any number of Avengers-style crossovers. Right now, Inde Navarrette is riding high from the insane success of Obsession, and she’s eager to take on meatier roles (case in point, she also met recently with Heat director Michael Mann). But she won’t really have time to star in other breakout indie hits or explosive dramas if she is tied down to at least a decade of making superhero slop.
Be Careful What You Wish For

Even if you’re a huge Marvel fan (got your tickets for Spider-Man: Brand New Day yet, true believer?), it’s an open secret that audiences will always see these tights-and-flights actors as their characters, keeping them from landing great future gigs. For example, the biggest thing Chris Evans has been in since Avengers: Endgame is Knives Out, and the only notable thing Robert Downey Jr. has been in since then is Oppenheimer. Sure, they’re both richer than God, but they’re not getting very many good roles, forcing them to reluctantly crawl back to the franchise that turned them into the most popular actors of the modern age.
That’s my big message to Inde Navarrette (you are reading this, right?): for all intents and purposes, you now have a One Wish Willow in your hand, and you’re in danger of experiencing how bad this monkey’s paw can get. Yes, becoming a Marvel star will make you richer and more famous than ever before, but it comes at the expense of ever acting in anything remotely interesting ever again. Navarrette became an internationally cherished actor thanks to a movie about a toy purchase gone wrong; only time will tell if she’s going to throw all that away just so she can become an action figure.

Part Three’, Denis Villeneuve’s 10/10 Sci-Fi Sets New Release
Director Denis Villeneuve is well known for his brilliant work on the Dune franchise that takes fans to Arrakis and makes them root for a hero they aren’t certain about. His love for books and proficiency with the filmmaking craft have taken the franchise to new levels. Nonetheless, the director has given us some amazing movies across genres. Be it compelling thrillers like Prisoners and Sicario or futuristic cyberpunk features like Blade Runner 2049, his vision, character-driven narratives, and distinct storytelling keep fans glued to their seats.
Before Villeneuve made the Timothée Chalamet-led feature, he made another sci-fi hit that has a special place in fans’ hearts. The movie in question, starring Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams. The 2016 feature presents the concept of alien invasion differently from its peers at the time, giving the narrative almost a mythical quality and resonating deeply with its themes. We follow Adams as linguistics professor Louise, who leads an elite team of investigators when gigantic spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world. To avert a global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. The 94 percent Rotten Tomatoes-rated film was a big commercial hit, earning $203.4 million worldwide and garnering eight Oscar nominations.
Titled Arrival, the movie’s brilliance lies in Eric Heisserer’s adapted screenplay from Ted Chiang’s novel Story of Your Life. Arrival uses the sci-fi premise to explore various human experiences and philosophical concepts, wrapping them in themes of communication, non-linear time, free will, and isolation. Fans who’d love to revisit the visually stunning feature are in luck; Arrival is getting a re-release on Blu-ray and 4K as a limited-edition Steelbook. The new formats are being released to celebrate the movie’s 10th anniversary.
What Do We Know About ‘Dune: Part 3’?
Dune: Part Three will conclude Paul Atreides’ story as we know it. While the plot details are tightly under wraps, recent trailers confirm it’ll take a significant time jump and will find Paul (Timothée Chalamet) in a different phase of life. The film brings back faces like Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, and more. While Anya Taylor-Joy (who had a small voice-only role in Dune: Part Two) and Robert Pattinson will also join the cast in significant roles.
Meanwhile, the Arrival steelbook will drop on September 8. The final installment of Dune is set for a December release. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Bold and the Beautiful: Will Spencer Goes Off the Rails – Brutal Villain Turn Ahead!
Bold and the Beautiful writers are taking Will Spencer’s (Crew Morrow) character way out into left field. All of a sudden, he is being made out to be some unhinged, violent guy on a villainous arc. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) thinks that R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) is in danger and somehow also has decided that Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) is too.
We’re going to get into how B&B is doing this bizarre twist and turning Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Katie Logan‘s (Heather Tom)’s son into somebody we don’t recognize and that they think Electra should be afraid of.
Bold and the Beautiful: Will’s Mysterious Villain Arc
Right now, we’re getting a completely different version of Will. The way he’s acting lately is totally unlike we’ve seen him before. The only time we saw him hit somebody in the past was in defense of Electra. Remember when Will smacked Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) down when he was stalking and terrorizing Electra? It was heroic.
But this whole thing started with R.J. just instigating stuff at the Bikini Bar, smack-talking Will while putting his hands on Electra. That was the first time that Will punched R.J. And even then, it seemed very out of character. Will has always been a sweetheart. And then again, got to say R.J. inspires a lot of fans to want to face punch him. So, there’s that.
And then when he was trespassing at Will’s house and refused to leave after being told repeatedly to go, I will say that R.J. was in the wrong to stay, but Will hit him too many times. But R.J. shouldn’t have busted in there. He was trespassing.
The Forresters love to go busting into places uninvited and making outrageous demands. They do it at Logan all the time. This is something they all do. And we’ve got Katie freaking out when Will said he hit R.J. again. And even Dollar Bill told Will to use his head and not his fists. As if that’s advice that Bill would really give.
Will the New Villain on B&B?!
So, they’re obviously going to keep going down this rabbit hole of Will coming into some sort of villain era. We’ve got Ridge with this wild speculation that Will is a danger to Electra. B&B even suggesting Will hit Electra is insane. But Brad Bell is clearly making Will the bad guy, a violent bad guy. Before, if you remember, Will was clean cut, clean shaven, and preppy.
And now Bold and the Beautiful is making Will look like a bad guy. They’ve let his hair get shaggy, gave him scruff, put him in clothes that make him look thuggish. It’s so obvious. Like Brad Bell’s told the costume department make him look like trouble. And it might carry more weight if the person Will hit was somebody that fans liked, but he’s not. R.J. is without a doubt one of the most despised characters on B&B and an extremely unpopular recast.
Bold and the Beautiful History of Violent Characters
And we just got them making Will out as this monster out of nowhere. Yet, there are countless other Bold and the Beautiful characters that have done terribly violent things. Very recently, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) slapped the starch out of Katie. A few years back, Ridge threw Bill off a balcony, and Bill had Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) toss Ridge out of a helicopter.
Back in the Hunter Tylo days, Taylor Hayes shot Bill in the back because he slept with her daughter Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and she took minimal heat for that. And come on, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was way more physically threatening than Will ever has been.
But Ridge didn’t mention his son doing bad things, just Bill’s son. I mean, Thomas and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) brawled on a rooftop when Thomas tried to basically kidnap Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).

Thomas punched Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and his own father, Ridge. Thomas once tried to set Rick’s house on fire and did blow up Rick’s car. That is way worse than Will punching R.J. the trespasser. Those were actual felonies.
But Will’s being made out to be the bad guy here. And don’t forget Electra herself punched a pregnant woman. But then she was telling Ridge she doesn’t like violence. Electra assaulted Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) when she was pregnant with Will’s baby.
And yes, Luna was awful. But Electra hit a pregnant woman so hard she knocked Luna all the way to the ground. If anybody’s going to be hitting a woman, it’s not Will. But unfortunately, this seems to be where Bold is going, making Will into a violent, crazy person. And this week, he also told Bill he was starting to scare himself. Come on.
And Will said he doesn’t know why he’s acting like this. Plus, he did that whole big weird screaming thing when he collapsed to his knees, shouting Electra’s name after she took off with R.J. So, it really does seem like they’re going to have Will with more anger issues and doing more violence.
Bold and the Beautiful: Ridge’s Ultimatum and Future Conflict
And moving forward, I’m wondering what Ridge may do next now that he’s told Electra she needs to walk away from Will. Actually, Ridge, I think, is bullying Electra at this point. Ridge is already telling her to block Will from her phone, to block him from her life, and he gave Electra an ultimatum, saying she has to choose sides between Will and her family, between the Spencers and the Forresters.
Ridge is so convinced that Will is a danger to Electra simply because he hit R.J. now. By that logic, Ridge is a danger because he’s hit Bill and Brooke’s a danger since she hit Katie. And at this point, I expect Ridge and R.J. to hype up things about Will being unhinged and to keep ramping this all up and them making it look like Electra is a possible victim of some imagined future potential domestic violence is all nuts and I expect to see R.J. acting out.
I think he will taunt Will about Electra ditching him. And since Ridge basically told Electra she has to ditch Will, she’s probably going to head in that direction. But if R.J. provokes Will deliberately, I can see him smacking R.J. again.
Only this time, we could see Electra calling the cops on him because Ridge tells her to. Or we could have R.J. deliberately provoke Will in front of witnesses like at the Bikini Bar. You know, a scene where R.J. is goading him and being nasty, knowing if he pushes the right button, then Will is going to lash out. And then R.J. could have him arrested to protect poor pouty Electra.
Bold and the Beautiful: Will Leans on Dylan?
I also expect we’re going to see Will opening up to Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) about all this. And I think she’ll be sympathetic to Will because she adores him and she knows he’s not unhinged. Dylan might even be around to see R.J. barging into Will’s house again, refusing to leave, trespassing again.
You know, Dylan might be the one to defend Will to the cops if he pops R.J. again when he won’t leave his home. I know some fans are wondering if Ridge is going to threaten legal action against Will. Maybe to try and blackmail Bill, but honestly, that seems too high stakes for Brad Bell’s writing, if I’m being honest.
Now, here’s how I expect this big bad Will story to peak. I think there’s going to be a situation where Electra seems to be in danger from Will and R.J. attacks Will and really hurts him and then tries to claim it with self-defense.
Remember like when Brooke saw Thomas and Hope, they were talking behind Steffy’s cliff house and Brooke totally misread the situation and she shoved Thomas off a cliff. Hope was horrified. Now thankfully Thomas survived, but since B&B likes to repeat plots and Will lives in Malibu where there’s lots of cliffs, I could see something like that happening again.
We could also see Ridge bringing back toxic, terrible Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) once Ashleigh Brewer’s maternity leave is over so that she can defend poor Electra from monstrous Will. The bottom line is he’s never been violent before and this is just out of character, but it’s what we’re getting.

Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Disneyland For Adults’ Shuts Down
Ryan Reynolds helped turn Aviation American Gin into one of Hollywood’s most recognizable celebrity-backed liquor brands, but one of its most ambitious attractions has quietly reached the end of the road.
The closure of the brand’s Portland tasting room marks a notable shift for the business, raising questions about changing consumer habits, the spirits industry, and what comes next for Reynolds’ longtime investment.

Visitors hoping to tour Aviation American Gin’s Portland tasting room will no longer have the opportunity after the facility officially welcomed its final guests on June 28.
The venue, which opened in September 2022, was created as an immersive destination where fans could sample Aviation’s products, learn about the distilling process, and experience the brand beyond a bottle on a store shelf. Reynolds once memorably described it as a “Disneyland for adults,” reflecting the playful marketing style that has long defined his partnership with the company.
As news of the closure spread, a farewell message posted at the entrance thanked supporters for their years of patronage.
“Thank you for all the memories, Portland. Stay weird,” the sign read, according to Willamette Week.
Although the visitor center has shut down, the Aviation American Gin brand itself is not disappearing.
Ryan Reynolds’ Gin Business Faces Changing Market Conditions

The closure comes during a challenging period for the U.S. spirits market.
Aviation American Gin is co-owned by global beverage company Diageo, which acquired the brand in 2020 while Reynolds remained a co-owner and one of its most recognizable ambassadors. Since then, the actor has continued promoting the label through his trademark humor, helping Aviation stand out in the increasingly crowded celebrity spirits space.
Diageo recently reported weaker U.S. spirits sales, with industry publication The Spirits Business noting a 15.4% decline in the company’s U.S. spirits business during the January-to-March period.
In a statement explaining the Portland closure, a Diageo spokesperson said, “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close the Aviation American Gin Visitor Center in Portland, Oregon.”
The company added, “This decision reflects evolving business needs, as we continue to support growth ambitions for our Aviation American Gin brand.”
Diageo also emphasized that the label remains an important part of its portfolio, saying, “Aviation American Gin remains an important part of Diageo’s portfolio and we are committed to the brand, our customers and consumers.”
Rather than ending production altogether, the company confirmed manufacturing has been transferred to an existing facility outside Portland.
Ryan Reynolds Helped Transform Aviation Into A Global Brand
Long before celebrity alcohol brands became commonplace, Reynolds saw potential in Aviation American Gin.
He invested in the company in 2018, becoming both a co-owner and the public face of the brand. His witty commercials and social media campaigns helped Aviation carve out a unique identity, blending dry humor with premium branding.
The investment also fit Reynolds’ broader business strategy. Beyond acting, he has built a reputation for backing consumer brands with unconventional marketing, including successful ventures in telecommunications, sports ownership, and production.
Founded by Portland’s House Spirits Distillery in the early 2000s, Aviation had already earned a loyal following before Reynolds joined. His involvement dramatically expanded its visibility, ultimately leading to Diageo’s acquisition while keeping Reynolds involved as a partner.
The Portland visitor center became an extension of that strategy, giving consumers an in-person experience designed to strengthen the connection between the brand and its fans.
Portland’s Challenges Add Another Layer To The Story
The timing of the closure has also drawn attention because of Portland’s changing business climate.
Since 2020, the city has faced well-documented struggles involving crime, homelessness, and quality-of-life concerns that have affected residents and businesses alike. While violent crime has fallen from recent highs, debates over public safety and downtown recovery have continued.
Recent local polling has also suggested many residents have considered relocating in the coming years, reflecting broader concerns about the city’s future.
Diageo has not cited those issues as the reason for closing the visitor center, instead pointing to evolving business priorities. Still, the decision arrives against the backdrop of a city that continues working to rebuild foot traffic and consumer confidence.
Ryan Reynolds’ Investment Story Is Far From Over

Although the visitor center has closed, Aviation American Gin remains available nationwide, with its flagship expression and Cranberry & Blood Orange variety continuing to be sold at retailers.
For Reynolds, the latest development represents a business adjustment rather than an exit.
Celebrity-backed alcohol brands have become increasingly competitive in recent years as consumer spending has softened across parts of the beverage industry.
Companies have responded by streamlining operations while focusing resources on areas expected to deliver stronger long-term growth.
The closure of Aviation’s Portland attraction may bring an end to what Reynolds once called his “Disneyland for adults,” but it does not signal the end of his relationship with the brand.
Instead, it reflects how even successful celebrity ventures must adapt to shifting market conditions. While one chapter has closed in Portland, Aviation American Gin’s owners are making it clear they still see a future for the label, even if that future no longer includes the visitor experience that once served as the brand’s showcase.

Michael Phelps Explains Why Olympians Struggle to Make Money
Michael Phelps opened up about the harsh financial realities that many Olympians face.
“I don’t think you’re going into the Olympic space to be a millionaire,” Phelps, 41, admitted on the Tuesday, July 7, edition of the “Richer Lives” podcast. “I think you’re doing it just because you love the sport.”
The competitive swimmer has won more Olympic medals than any other athlete in any sport, with 28 total medals across four Summer Games. (Phelps also holds the all-time record for most gold medal wins with 23, in addition to his three silver and two bronze medals.)
Phelps parlayed his success into a media career that has included major endorsement deals and even his own video game — but that’s not a trajectory that many Olympians replicate.
“I think there’s a very small percent of Olympians that actually can make a living off of it,” he noted. “I was very fortunate to be one of those. I got to wake up every single day and do what I loved.”
The athlete recalled that there were “times [he] wanted to quit” swimming before his Olympics success, only for his mother, Debbie, to remind him of the financial realities of that decision.
“My mom’s like, ‘If you want to quit, do you want to go work a 9-to-5 job?’ I was like, ‘Good call,’” he recalled to host Vivian Tu. “For me, I was going to swim … eight to 10 times a week, that’s a job? I’m getting paid to do what I love.”
Phelps remembered feeling that his life was “all about sports” as a kid even though it “never really felt like a job.”
“I was always outside playing. I was having fun. I was being myself,” he said. “I was very lucky to find a career where I could just be me, my authentic self. I had a blast doing it.”

Michael Phelps Sarah Stier/Getty Images
Later in the podcast, Phelps confirmed that he received an early education from a financial advisor at age 15. Now, he leans into endorsements where he is offered a financial stake in the companies he signs with.
“Over time, my agent got smart in trying to structure contracts in a different way. Whether it was me taking equity or me just taking cash,” he said. “Just having an agent that is able to structure deals in different ways, thinking long term. You’re invested in it. You want [these companies] to go massive. Instead of just getting a pile of cash, for me, I’m along for the ride.”
Phelps also touched on overcoming public controversies, including his two previous DUI arrests. (The Olympian entered a guilty plea to a charge of driving while impaired in 2004 and later pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in 2014.)
He also temporarily walked away from the world of competitive swimming following the 2012 London Games, citing burnout and frustration with the sport. (He told reporters at the time that he “just wanted to be done with swimming and didn’t want anything to do with the sport anymore.”)
“At that point, I didn’t care [about the financial implications],” he acknowledged. “I literally came back to the 2012 Olympics because I had to. I had contractual obligations that I had to fulfill.”
He said that he was so disillusioned with the sport at the time that he’d “skip” a week’s worth of training on a whim.
“I was just stiff-arming the sport because I wanted a break,” Phelps confessed. “After my second DUI, at that point, I didn’t feel like I should be alive anymore. I felt like I didn’t deserve to be alive anymore.”
He continued, “At that point, I just became scared. I think that was the first time that I asked for help. I feel that for so long we would just kind of sweep it under the rug. Nobody wanted to talk about it … I almost wanted to create a generational shift. Make real change.”
“It’s not embarrassing to go to therapy. It’s not embarrassing to ask for help,” he added, pointing out how much he valued his sponsorship deal with online therapy portal TalkSpace.
Phelps ultimately returned to swimming for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio, where he won five gold medals and a silver. He retired from the sport in August 2016.

Disney’s Latest Flop May Finally Kill Their Lazy, Live-Action Adaptations
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

When you look at a really weird, uncanny image these days, you’re forced to ask the awkward question: “wait, is this AI?” That’s what happened to me the first time I saw an image of Dwayne Johnson from Disney’s live-action Moana movie. It looked for all the world like the kind of low-effort crap you’d get if you just asked ChatGPT to make the former wrestler look like the leading man of Disney’s beloved animated movie. Unfortunately, it was all too real; to my horror, I learned that Disney was going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars making and marketing yet another live-action adaptation.
Like many, I’ve spent years wondering why the House of Mouse makes these lazy films. Why ruin a perfectly good cartoon with a live version that has absolutely none of the charm? Of course, as long as these movies were making money, nothing was going to keep the studio from cranking them out. Now, however, after the disaster that was Snow White, Disney’s live-action adaptation business may receive another, possibly fatal blow. Not only did critics hate the new Moana, but the movie is set to make a catastrophically low amount of money during its opening weekend.
The Moana Remake Is Already Doomed

To say that critics hate the new Moana is a serious understatement. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds a 38 percent, which is insanely low. For comparison, the original Moana currently has a 95 percent critical score. The difference here is like night and day: while the original cartoon was an instant classic, the live-action adaptation is officially “rotten.” On RT, the critical consensus is that the film is “underwhelming” and “lifeless,” especially compared to the “superior adventure” of the original animated movie.
Of course, bad reviews mean nothing if a movie makes enough money, which is why we’ve been getting these cursed, live-action remakes for decades. However, it looks like the Moana remake is going to suffer as much commercially as it has suffered critically. According to Variety, tracking services are predicting that the movie will make between $60-$65 million in North America. However, the site notes that both exhibitors and rival studios think Moana could be like Supergirl and have a worse opening weekend. How worse? They believe the domestic opening could be as low as $40 million.
Navigating Unsteady Waters

Now, the Moana remake will likely do better than Supergirl internationally, where tracking services show the movie earning somewhere between $70-$75 million globally in its opening weekend. However, it’s the domestic success (or lack thereof) that typically predicts whether these live-action remakes will be very profitable. For example, the 2019 Dumbo remake had a domestic opening weekend of $45 million, and 2025’s Snow White had a $42 million domestic opening weekend. Both of those movies went on to lose money at the box office in stark comparison to other remakes like Lilo & Stitch, which earned over $100 million domestically and went on to earn (like the animated Moana 2) over a billion dollars at the box office.
Will the Moana remake lose Disney money? Only time will tell, but right now, things look pretty grim: the movie has a budget of $250 million, which doesn’t count the high cost of marketing. With the very occasional success story like Obsession, movies always make less in subsequent weeks after they debut. Right now, the best-case scenario for the Moana remake is that it earns $130 million this weekend. With poor word of mouth (again, 38 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), the film is likely going to experience a serious revenue decline from week to week. It could ultimately have trouble even meeting its budget, much less making a profit.
It Smells, But The Rock Ain’t Cooking

The same thing happened with Snow White. Between expensive reshoots and absolutely terrible word of mouth, the movie ended up actually losing Disney $170 million. If the Moana remake loses a major amount of money, it might establish a pattern and convince the House of Mouse to stop making these soulless, cash-grabbing remakes. This is the same year that The Mandalorian and Grogu also seriously underperformed, getting defeated at the box office by multiple low-budget horror movies. With any luck, Disney will learn a major lesson from those spooky movies: namely, that making money means actually making something original.
Disney is currently making yet another expensive mistake, but at least my advice to the studio is free. As Dwayne Johnson might say in an uncanny, shot-for-shot remake while wearing an impossibly dumb muscle suit, “What can I say, except ‘you’re welcome?’”

Why Vicki Gunvalson’s Daughter Was Against Her ‘RHOC’ Return
It was announced in November 2025 that Vicki Gunvalson would return to “The Real Housewives of Orange County” after several years of only making minor appearances. Now, season 20 is set to premiere on July 9, and the “RHOC” original cast member is revealing why her daughter, Briana Culberson, was against the idea.

The premiere event for season 20 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” took place in late June at The Commons on the NBCUniversal Studios lot. While there, the cast, including Gunvalson, took part in a panel discussion.
Specifically, while discussing her return to the show, she recalled her daughter Culberson, saying the hit Bravo series had caused problems in the 64-year-old’s personal life when she was a cast member.
According to PEOPLE, Gunvalson revealed, “Briana said, ‘No, Mom. The show has never been good for you. You’ve always lost relationships.’” Currently, Gunvalson is dating Michael Smith, and her daughter feared that her return to the show could lead to the relationship’s eventual demise.
She stated, “She really enjoyed me with Michael, and we were just starting a new relationship, a couple years old, and she’s like, ‘Why do you want to do this? Don’t put him on.’”
Vicki Says Fans Will Get Glimpses Of Her Boyfriend On ‘RHOC’

Gunvalson continued discussing her daughter’s concerns about returning to “The Real Housewives of Orange County” regarding her relationship with Smith. In terms of his involvement with the show, she said, “I’m like, ‘Okay, I won’t put him on.’” The mom of two added, “She’s very protective over me.”
Still, this doesn’t mean fans won’t meet Smith through the show. Gunvalson explained that he “did appear a little bit this year.”
Elsewhere at the “RHOC” premiere event, Gunvalson recalled that she initially turned down the show when she was approached in the mid-2000s, noting that her then-husband, Donn Gunvalson, was against appearing on reality television.
She stated, “My husband at the time, Donn, said, ‘There’s no way we’re doing a reality show. You work too hard. I work too hard. I want to come home and have peace.’”
Fans Are Mixed On ‘RHOC’ 20 Ahead Of Its Premiere

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” remains one of Bravo’s most popular shows. However, following the trailer release, some usual viewers say they may skip this season. However, overall, Bravo fans seem excited for Gunvalson to appear on the show in a full-time capacity.
One person said, “Hate to say it because I had high hopes with it being the 20th season and Vicki coming back, but it looks dry and boring as heck.” Someone else wrote, “Another BORING season.”
However, A different “RHOC” fan stated, “Vicki and Shannon up to their old antics, already has the makings of a classic OC season.” Someone else said, “Love this cast except for Gina and Emily.” Lastly, one other social media user weighed in, saying, “Love that Vicki is back!”
Andy Cohen Previously Opened Up About Vicki’s Return

There had been speculation for years that Gunvalson may return to the show as a housewife. Then, at BravoCon 2025, in November, Andy Cohen presented her with an orange and invited her back to the series while on stage at the convention.
According to TV Insider, Cohen opened up about having Gunvalson return to “RHOC” at BravoCon. He explained, “I was so excited to give Vicki that orange back. We don’t take it lightly that ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ is turning 20, and so we thought it would be a really fun thing to bring her back. You Must Watch The Two Greatest Superhero Parodies Now On Netflix
By Jonathan Klotz
| Published

Comedy is hard to make work, and superhero comedies have been nearly impossible. DC’s Damage Control didn’t catch on, and the closest Marvel ever got to one was Ant-Man. It does make sense as there’s one superhero comedy series that’s had nothing but banger entries for 40 years as it lampoons everything about superheroes from the names to overwritten origin stories: The Tick. For the first time, both live-action versions of The Tick, the 2001 Fox sitcom starring Patrick Warburton and the 2016 Amazon series starring Peter Serafinowicz are streaming on Netflix.
The Tick Has Come To Netflix

It’s both easy and impossible to describe The Tick. Easy, in that he’s a large, indestructible man with superstrength in a blue suit trying to protect The City. Impossible because he has no origin, there is no background, and nothing, from the original comics to the Fox animated series of the 90s, to both live-action adaptations, has done anything to shed light on his past. There’s been hints here and there, but he’s just The Tick, and he’s going to save the day.
The Fox live-action series is more of a sitcom than anything else, placing its focus on colliding the wacky ensemble cast against each other like comedic action figures. Patrick Warburton nailed The Tick on the first go, best exemplified by his inability to understand what death is in an episode about The Immortal dying during sex. With no support from Fox, the inventive, hysterical series was cut short after one season, but thankfully, Warburton met writer Christopher McCulloh on set, and was in McCulloh’s next project, you may have heard of it: The Venture Bros.

In 2016, Amazon brought The Tick back, this time with a slightly more dramatic bent to it. Only slightly. Creator Ben Edlund was still on board with the series, which this time starts with The Tick’s future sidekick Arthur (Blank Check podcast host Griffin Newman) working to unravel a criminal conspiracy. While not as overtly comedic as the first two Tick series, the 2016 one is a great balm for anyone bored of Marvel and DC’s overly serious grandiose epics.
The Tick’s Greatest Enemy Is Low Ratings

An ongoing problem with The Tick is that it appeals to hardcore comic nerds the most, and comedy fans second, both of which are competing for the title of “most fickle audience.” In every incarnation, The Tick has had to battle falling ratings as often as oddball villains. Every single series, the animated one of the 90s and both live-action, have been critically acclaimed, and every single one was canceled due to low ratings.
Now’s your chance to stream both The Tick (2001) and The Tick (2016) on Netflix to learn what all the hype has been about for decades. Be warned though, that each show will have you start shouting “Spoon” at random intervals, and the greatest villain from the animated series, Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight, was left out of both live-action adaptations.
The Tick animated 1994 series is available as Video On Demand through YouTube.

Blueface Accuses Karlissa Of Traumatizing Him
During a recent livestream this week, Karlissa appeared to confront Blueface over what she described as his having issues with women. However, the conversation quickly escalated when Blueface pushed back with claims about his childhood. He also alleged that he experienced trauma from witnessing domestic altercations involving her and multiple men when he was younger.
Blueface Reveals More During Heated Livestream
Blueface shared his perspective during the livestream, saying, “You think things that don’t matter to me today matter more than the TRAUMA you caused by being the way you are. Watching you domestically, violently have altercations with your kids & multiple men. I would rather be in a tent than to watch my Mom & her daughter fight a man that my Mom is laying down with.” The rapper’s comments sparked conversation online, with viewers reacting to the emotional exchange and the serious allegations made during the livestream. Neither Blueface nor Karlissa has publicly provided additional details about the claims made during the conversation.
The Internet Has Mixed Feelings
Following the livestream, folks took to X to share their thoughts on the emotional exchange between Blueface and Karlissa. While some users argued that adults cannot use their childhood experiences as an excuse for every decision or behavior, others felt Blueface had a valid point and acknowledged how past trauma can impact people later in life. Meanwhile, some social media users appeared to give Karlissa grace, urging others to consider her perspective and the complexity of their mother-son relationship.

I don’t like her, but she’s not wrong if his dad really stepped up as a man to be there to help her she wouldn’t have had to look for help. Otherwise it’s not easy to take care of three kids on your own.

as a grown ass man why are you still crying ab another man being disrespectful to your mom and her and her family packing him out, at the end of the day your mom did what she could to give you a good life, and your dad didn’t why do you have so much compassion and empathy for dad

I can understand where he’s coming from. He had a bad childhood and was exposed to his mom being with abusive men but I feel like he’s trying to use his past child experiences as a reason to why he’s the way he is now. You’re too grown to be blaming your Mom for the way you are

Jessica Alba Puts Jaw-Dropping Bikini Figure On Display In Italy
Jessica Alba put her sizzling figure on display in new loved-up photos with her boyfriend, Danny Ramirez, while rocking a two-piece.
Currently on an idyllic Italian getaway with her new partner, the actress treated fans to a visual feast of delicious local cuisine and breathtaking scenery.
The latest outing comes after Jessica Alba and her ex-husband, Cash Warren, had an awkward reunion at their daughter’s High School graduation, which led to claims of a “bitter” fallout between the former couple.
Alba set social media on fire on Wednesday when she posted multiple shots of herself in a bikini, while cozying up to her 33-year-old boyfriend.
Flaunting her age-defying physique next to a shirtless Ramirez, the 45-year-old “Honey” actress left fans completely mesmerized in a photo as the couple packed on the PDA against the scenic backdrop.
In a video, Alba and Ramirez could be seen drinking wine and eating some snacks while relaxing on a boat.
The clip featured the actress looking spectacular as she rocked a printed red string bikini, while her boyfriend opted for a pair of striped swim trunks for their Italian getaway.
Alba, wearing a straw hat, was also pictured basking in the sunshine, lying on her stomach aboard a paddleboard.
The carousel also highlighted a mouthwatering array of local dishes and drinks from her getaway, with the actress sweetly captioning her post, “Ciao, Italy.”
Fans Praise The Actress For Her Stunning Physique
Taking to the comment section, fans of Alba left messages praising the actress for her figure, with many noting that she looks happier since her split from her ex-husband, Cash Warren.
A fan wrote, “She’s still the most beautiful woman I know. Far beyond my reach, yet somehow still close to my heart.”
“Why does she not age and looks even younger every year?” another asked, while a third noted, “You literally look 20 years old!?! Share your sorcery!!!”
However, amid the praise, there were some critics who claimed Alba was sharing the images for “attention,” with one person writing, “It’s like you do everything to show the world that you are happy. Hope you are, but it looks like you desperately need the attention.”
Another asked, “Wasn’t she married and had a husband and kids a month ago? People move so quickly.”
Jessica Alba Recently Had An Awkward Encounter With Her Ex-Husband

Alba’s stunning vacation snap comes almost two months after she and her former husband, Cash Warren, made an appearance at their daughter Honor’s High School graduation.
The former couple, who have since finalized their divorce, noticeably sat far apart during the ceremony, making for an awkward family moment, while supporting their daughter.
In photos from the event, obtained by TMZ, friends and family members, including their son, Hayes, were deliberately seated between Alba and Warren to maintain a noticeable distance.
This boundary persisted during the post-graduation reception, where Alba and Warren reportedly stuck to completely different groups, choosing to toast their daughter’s milestone individually rather than interacting as a co-parenting unit.
About The Former Couple’s Divorce

Reports of Alba and Warren’s split surfaced in early January 2025, and by February that year, the actress officially filed for divorce.
She cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for their divorce, with the date of separation listed as December, 27 2024.
By March 2026, the former couple’s split was officially finalized. According to court documents, the exes will split their assets equally, requiring Alba to pay Warren a multi-million dollar balance payment.
Alba and Warren will also be sharing joint custody of their three children, Honor, Haven, and Hayes, and have agreed that both parents must co-sign on major lifestyle choices like schooling.
Claims Of A ‘Bitter’ Feud Between Jessica Alba And Cash Warren Surface

Very recently, sources shared that Alba and Warren weren’t on the best of terms, claiming their divorce has turned “bitter,” mostly due to the actress’s new romance with actor Danny Ramirez.
As reported by Star Magazine, Warren sees the actress’s PDA filled relationship with Ramirez as “out of line” and a sign that she might be going through a “midlife crisis.”
He allegedly maintains that he has “kept his side of the street clean, but Jessica’s wrecked all that by … packing on the PDA with this cheesy new boyfriend of hers and making sure everyone on planet Earth gets a front row ticket.”
However, sources claim Alba sees things differently and feels her ex-husband is frustrated that she has moved on from their marriage.
“He’s obviously struggling to move on and trying to burst her bubble by acting all snarky and bitter,” a source told the publication.
