Manchester United are set to sign England youth international Kayla Rendell from Women’s Championship side Southampton.
Goalkeeper Rendell, 23, is a product of Southampton’s academy and is one of several youngsters who have come through the club to join the WSL.
United have been looking for a goalkeeper since England’s Mary Earps left for Paris St-Germain last summer and Rendell will join current number one Phallon Tullis-Joyce and 20-year-old Safia Middleton-Patel.
Rendell, who now represents England’s under-23s, is set to become United’s first signing of the January transfer window.
Southampton have signed forward Araya Dennis on loan from Tottenham for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.
The 18-year-old has made two appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring her first goal in the Women’s League Cup win over Crystal Palace last month.
