Why isn't magnus pro standing desk on the list. It's definitely S tier and only $800 compared to $7000?

I purchased an 84" black laminate EvoDesk Pro a couple of years back. I'll say that the frame is very sturdy with the four angled uprights and it was easy to assemble. Unfortunately the laminate material they use is subpar and the coating is even worse. It has absolutely zero ability to repel moisture and just a few drops from condensation on a cold drink will cause the surface to bubble up. Sadly they don't offer a hardwood or bamboo top in the 84" size. Im considering getting a replacement black laminate top and sealing it myself with some kind of epoxy. Just a heads up to anyone looking at this brand.

It's misleading when you talk about the Vertdesk surface: "While there's a good selection of laminate AND Hardwood options…" From what I can tell it's only laminate. Hardwood laminate is still laminate. I wish they/you offered the Vertdesk with a true solid hardwood surface. Thanks for the detailed reviews though.

Will you make a separate review or even leave a reply if you can, about the Vernal brand standing desks? I believe they are a newer company within the last few years, and I would like to find a review on the desk before I purchase but every review I find is sponsored by them! Even online, they sponsor everything which worries me a bit about their quality. They are lower end on the price, around $800 for an L-shaped 72” x 60”. Thanks!

great presentation, very informational thank you. As for the last desk they can keep it for that price and have it on sale for 1k when they need to pay the suppliers, what a joke ! unless you can also drive it to work which i doubt

  16. @RyanHarris77

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

You said that Uplift is “still” using a frame made in China. What do you mean by that? Is there a presumption that the quality of it substandard because it’s made in China? If so, that’s narrow thinking.

  17. @TheColorfulPube

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

The Husky workbench is higher quality than any of these desks and is under $300. Only downside is you have to use a crank to raise the desk, but it's not that annoying.

  18. @Hotcoffeeenema77

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

This channel is BTODtv, which is BTOD, which makes the NewHeights S Series… and just so happened to rank it as S tier. At $7k for a decent looking desk, this seems unethical to place it as the only S tier and costing a ton of money for a desk. Maybe mention that in the video rather than having a disclaimer at the very final line of the video description.

After a whole lot of digging and watching Ahnestly’s review I’m gonna get a Deskhaus Apex Pro base (which is pricey at $900) and a 6 ft slab of finished walnut with live edges from a lumber yard. Super excited to build it.

I like my flexispot standing desk e2, it was pricey for me given that I purchased it for almost $380 with discount. Overall, I’d buy flexispot again, but can’t justify the prices of those other top tier brand. It’s out of my price point range.

You gave good points about each desk but the ranking … 😂
Yeah like everything about this table is mid or bad.. but it is from an expansive brand: A-tier
Yeah quite solid, does everything well, maybe not so good waranty, just 300 bucks .. D tier 😂😂

no wonder why so few things are made in America. $7000 is ridiculous for a desk

  31. @googleslocik

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

Ikea Idasen is a A tier for me.
Its insane stable, heavy and big, at lower height its basically a steel heavy table.
Im really happy with it, and every time i get to use other brands at work i realize as flimsy and badly build lighter standing desks are.
If it had faster motors and better pilot it would be perfect.

  36. @BeastMortThe

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

How do you place UpLift in the B tier, but then put Ergonofis in the A tier and even suggest it's S tier material? With the horrible warranty alone… I would put it in the C tier and UpLift should be considered more of an A tier or even an S tier considering the amount of accessories and options available.

Monoprice has no justification that I see to be in the D tier when clearly it's an F tier.

Vivo in the D tier literally just triggered me being placed in D tier, because for sure there should be something lower than an F tier for products that bad.

Steelcase being placed in the B tier I agree with, but placing it above the UpLift (which should be A tier), is a total joke.

NewHeights was sounding like an S tier… up till the beyond pathetically limited options and that should have dropped it to the A tier.

    October 16, 2024 at 2:04 pm

Funny when you test a table stability for some tables with ot without weights. Adding weights increases stability. This review is a bit biased. Too bad.

I got myself the E2Q from flexispot recently. thanks to standing on 4 legs and its massive (thus sadly very heavy heavy, just had to carry it to a different room alone lmao..)it is very very stable, which is something I highly value as someone who while working usually might wanna have an intense gaming session once in a while as well.

New Home Backup Server (Dell T640 with 18 20TB Disks)

In this video I create a new backup server from a Dell EMC PowerEdge T640 with 18x 20TB Seagate Exos refurbished drives. Also there’s some more ranting about backups in general. But idk, there are chapters so you can skip to whatever. And it’s not technically a server, in that it doesn’t serve files. It’s really more of a client that takes files from other servers and holds onto them. But I call it a backup server because hardware-wise it’s a server. Anywho, that’s the description. It’s probably not optimal for the YouTube algorithm, but hey, I’m not an influencer even though I have a TikTok account that I don’t use.

The Man Who Revolutionized Computer Science With Math

The Man Who Revolutionized Computer Science With Math

Leslie Lamport revolutionized how computers talk to each other. The Turing Award-winning computer scientist pioneered the field of distributed systems, where multiple components on different networks coordinate to achieve a common objective. (Internet searches, cloud computing and artificial intelligence all involve orchestrating legions of powerful computing machines to work together.) In the early 1980s, Lamport also created LaTeX, a document preparation system that provides sophisticated ways to typeset complex formulas and format scientific documents. In 1989, Lamport invented Paxos, a “consensus algorithm” that allows multiple computers to execute complex tasks; without it, modern computing could not exist. He’s also brought more attention to a handful of problems, giving them distinctive names like the bakery algorithm and the Byzantine Generals Problem. Lamport’s work since the 1990s has focused on “formal verification,” the use of mathematical proofs to verify the correctness of software and hardware systems. Notably, he created a “specification language” called TLA+ (for Temporal Logic of Actions), which employs the precise language of mathematics to prevent bugs and avoid design flaws.
