ADGM Academy unveils high-tech hub to power Abu Dhabi’s innovation push

ADGM Academy has launched a new Tech Centre designed to become a central driver of Abu Dhabi’s research and innovation ecosystem, strengthening the emirate’s push toward a knowledge-based economy.

Positioned as the region’s first multi-sector innovation platform, the centre brings together academia, regulators, government stakeholders and industry players to accelerate technological progress across key fields.

The Tech Centre will operate as a living lab where policy, education and technology development converge. It will support applied research and skills development through specialised programmes, hackathons and research fellowships in areas including artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, InvestmentTech and EnergyTech.

The initiative aligns with wider national ambitions to position the UAE as a global leader in innovation-led industries.

To mark the launch, ADGM Academy hosted a closed-door stakeholder gathering where five founding initiatives signed a Commemoration Declaration committing to work collectively to advance Abu Dhabi’s innovation landscape. These initiatives form the backbone of the centre’s research and development agenda.

RealAssetX Abu Dhabi, created in partnership with PGIM, will focus on using AI to transform real asset investment and sustainability practices. FutureTech 4.0, developed with the ADI DLT Foundation, will support blockchain education and aims to prepare 10,000 future leaders in the field. Cyber Arena, in collaboration with Cyber Falcon, will concentrate on strengthening cyber defence capabilities for critical infrastructure.

In financial innovation, the Freedom Investment Lab, launched with Freedom Management, will focus on digital wealth platforms and financial literacy. Meanwhile, EnerTech Lab, in partnership with TDE Digital, will work on sustainable energy solutions and workforce readiness for the energy sector.

By positioning research and talent development at its core, the Tech Centre is expected to contribute to stronger regulatory frameworks, technology adoption and long-term economic resilience. ADGM Academy stated that the platform will help cement Abu Dhabi’s standing as a global hub for next-generation innovation.
