The best part about this Winter Capsule? Erin owns and loves nearly every piece, so you can trust that each item is high-quality, versatile, and timeless. These essentials are here to make your winter dressing effortless and chic. Let’s dive in!

Sweaters & Tops

Let’s kick things off with the best base layers for your winter outfits…cashmere and wool sweaters. Erin can speak to the amazing quality of both Aqua cashmere from Bloomingdales and Quince cashmere.

Start with versatile neutrals like black, ivory, or camel—these timeless shades may not feel as exciting upfront, but they’re the unsung heroes of a truly functional wardrobe. A well-curated capsule ensures every piece mixes and matches effortlessly, simplifying your style routine without sacrificing elegance.

Once you’ve nailed your neutrals, it’s time to add a pop of personality with a color that feels uniquely you—perhaps a soft pink, serene blue, or bold red. Each hue will harmonize perfectly with your neutral base, creating endless chic combinations.

And, don’t miss the lightweight black layering top by Norma Kamali. With its dramatic shoulders, this piece is a basic with a twist—perfect for date nights or dinner with friends when you want to turn heads while staying cozy and confident. The shoulder pads not only add a modern edge, they also create width across the top, which makes your waist look smaller. It’s a style detail we absolutely love and know you will too!

Pants & Dresses

This capsule includes a holy grail pair of wide-leg jeans ( more juicy jean details here) and a classic dark wash cropped pair —one of Erin’s all-time go-to pieces, perfect for any season. We also included a pair of uber-slimming, black wide-leg pants by Spanx. Made from ponte knit, they’re soft, comfy, and wrinkle-resistant, making them an incredibly versatile option for everything from office meetings to dinner dates.

Next up, the AirEssentials lounge set—a total game-changer for cozy, casual days. (Our entire team is obsessed—seriously, we all have one! 😂) If you live in a colder climate, fleece-lined leggings are a smart addition. Wear them solo or layer them under pants or jeans for an extra dose of warmth. We’ll link some of our favorite options below.

Finally, let’s talk about the pièce de résistance of your winter wardrobe: the cashmere sweater dress. This dressy yet practical piece is perfect for winter days when you want to stay warm while looking chic and sophisticated. Style it with a belt to cinch the waist or layer a cropped jacket for a polished, effortless look.

Outerwear

When it comes to staying warm and looking stylish in a cold climate, having the right outerwear is absolutely essential. We’re keeping this category intentionally lean with just two versatile coats and one timeless blazer. Invest in an elegant coat for a polished look and a more casual option like a puffer coat or jacket for everyday.

This cashmere wrap coat is an absolute standout—Erin swears by its impeccable fit and luxurious quality. While a wrap or wool coat alone may not provide enough warmth on frigid days, you can try one of Erin’s favorite winter style hacks: layer a lightweight or packable puffer under your chic wool or cashmere coat for added warmth without sacrificing style.

For a heavier option, Erin’s go-to for everyday is this one by SAM. It’s super warm and has modern, trendy details. She loves it so much, she has it in both Marine Blue and Jet Black– and even wears them skiing!

Finally, A classic black blazer, like our fave- the scuba blazer, is a wardrobe essential that instantly elevates any outfit. Whether paired with black pants, jeans, or even a sweater dress, it adds a polished and sophisticated touch to your look. It’s a true staple that every woman should own and works beautifully across all seasons.

For those who love a touch of drama, consider adding a glam faux fur coat to your wardrobe. While not a must-have, it’s a fun and fabulous option for special occasions or when you want to make a statement. Erin’s favorite faux fur of the season is this ivory one—it’s an absolute stunner, and we’ll link it below so you can check it out!

Accessories

For the sake of simplicity, we carefully chose a few key winter accessories to keep you warm and stylish. For maximum warmth, you may opt for cashmere, cashmere blend or wool scarves, hats, and gloves. Did you know that cashmere is up to 3x warmer than wool? Cashmere is known for its ability to trap air, which helps retain body heat. It is also lightweight so it’s perfect for layering without adding bulk.

The options we shared in this capsule are tested and approved by Erin. And, the best part? They are all reasonable priced, especially for the quality.

Shoes & Boots

When it comes to winter footwear, black is your best bet. While tan or brown can also be versatile neutrals, black hides wear and tear better and works well with most outfits. We’ve carefully selected a few fashionable and functional options for winter.

Sleek leather or suede booties can be polished enough to wear to work or even wear out to dinner or on girl’s night. For a more casual option, try ankle boots with chunky heels or lug soles. The Sorel Caribou boots, for example, are waterproof, stylish, and practical, with a chunky heel that adds just the right amount of height. (At 5’4”, Erin really loves snow boots with a heel or wedge for an extra boost.)

Lastly, no winter wardrobe is complete without a pair of chic, everyday sneakers. These Valentina sneakers are a team favorite—and for good reason. These slip-on’s require no tying, feature a 2-inch platform for a little extra height, and pair effortlessly with everything. We don’t throw around the word “obsessed” often, but in this case, it’s totally warranted!

So…what’s the coldest temp you’ve ever experienced? For Erin, it was -50 in Lake Placid, New York. Leave us a comment below and let’s see how low we can go!
