One of the Best Evil Dead Projects of All Time Is Officially Streaming for Free
Like the relentless Deadites that have been there from its start in 1981, the Evil Dead franchise simply won’t die. The latest installment, Evil Dead Burn, has again revived interest in the franchise, reminding moviegoers to be careful about the books they take out of the library. But despite its “Fresh” Rotten Tomatoes score, the film, like 2013’s Evil Dead and Evil Dead Rise before it, is missing the franchise’s arrogant, quip-heavy, bumbling heart: Bruce Campbell‘s chainsaw-wielding Ash Williams. At least in any sort of meaningful way: a brief after-credits cameo in Evil Dead, a voice-only cameo that may be him in Evil Dead Rise, and appearances in photos that, again, may be him in Evil Dead Burn don’t really cut it. Which is why the TV series that centers around Ash Williams, Ash vs Evil Dead, stands as one of the best entries in the Evil Dead franchise as a whole.
What Is ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ About?
Ash vs Evil Dead picks up thirty years after Ash took out a Deadite with his boomstick at a Michigan S-Mart (“shop smart, shop S-Mart”) in the final scene of Army of Darkness. During that time, he moved from town to town, picking up work at local Value Stops and living out of a mobile home trailer, with only his pet lizard, Eli, there to keep him company, all in an effort to stay ahead of the Deadites. But after reading from the Necronomicon while high, in a vain attempt at seducing a young prostitute, the evil is reawakened yet again. Things come to a head at his latest stop in Jackson, Michigan, when sinister events happening around town jar Ash’s memory about his recent misstep (remember, kids: no reading the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis while on drugs).
Ash prepares to leave town on the down-low, but is stopped by two Value Stop co-workers: Pablo Simon Bolivar (Ray Santiago) and Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo), who have figured out that Ash is to blame for the evil being unleashed in the town. They’re reluctant to believe Ash’s account, at first, until a possessed neighbor attacks the three in Ash’s trailer. Ash, in a moment that calls back to Army of Darkness, takes control of his iconic chainsaw once again, stopping the attack and resuming the fight. This time he won’t be alone, as Pablo decides that he’ll fight alongside Ash as his sidekick, referring to Ash as “El Jefe” (“The Boss”).
Kelly, however, is reluctant, but the sudden return of her mother (Mimi Rogers), feared dead after a car accident months prior, raises Ash’s suspicions. Sure enough, despite her mother appearing normal, Ash provokes her into revealing herself as a Deadite, who kills her father (Phil Peleton) with a fork. Still, Kelly’s mother tries to convince her she’s just fine, but a final reveal of her Deadite true-self forces Kelly to accept that she is now, truly, an orphan. After Ash dispatches her, Kelly, now filled with an insatiable rage against the Deadites, joins forces with Pablo and Ash to form the “Ghost Beaters.”
They are soon joined by Ruby Knowby (Lucy Lawless), a mysterious woman who, secretly, is a demon — not just any demon, mind you, but one of the ancient Dark Ones and the author of, yes, the Necronomicon. She reveals herself in the Season 1 finale, breaking bad until the following season, when she must reluctantly join Team Ghost Beaters after losing control of her demon spawn. Revelations, deaths, rebirths, time travel, flashbacks, a fight between Ash and his possessed 1973 Delta 88, and lots and lots of blood — and laughs — permeate Ash vs Evil Dead from the start to its end after three glorious seasons.
Bruce Campbell Shines in ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’
Ash vs Evil Dead brings everything we love about the franchise while expanding on its mythology. The Necronomicon, in particular, is given a deep, troubling history that befits its status within Evil Dead. The aftermath of Evil Dead II is revealed, with the people of Elk Grove, Michigan, refusing to believe Ash’s account of Deadites being responsible for the deaths that occurred in it, accusing him of the murders and giving him the moniker “Ashy Slashy.” There’s the blood, the dark humor, the slapstick, and the practical effects (and some admittedly dodgy CGI, but not enough to derail the thrill of watching it). The supporting cast, too, is perfection: Santiago nails the progression of Pablo from kindhearted and naive sidekick to “Brujo Especial” (a powerful shaman); DeLorenzo brings swagger and sarcasm to her hard-as-nails Kelly; and Ruby might just be the most layered TV demon ever, with Lawless excelling at bringing depth, just as she did with Xena: Warrior Princess.
But make no mistake: Ash vs Evil Dead belongs to Bruce Campbell, full stop. He’s given unprecedented freedom to inhabit the iconic hero, and he makes the best of it, owning the series in a way that only the truly charismatic actors can. His story is fleshed out, giving us a far more in-depth understanding of Ash: his tragic past, the relationship with his estranged father (Lee Majors), and Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill), the long-lost daughter he didn’t know he had. In Army of Darkness especially, Ash is a caricature, an anti-hero with a foul mouth and arrogance in spades. In Ash vs Evil Dead, he’s still a caricature, yes, but one with depth, a careful balancing act that Campbell has perfected with his intimate knowledge of the character.
Ash vs Evil Dead is Bruce Campbell’s last hurrah as Ash Williams, and it sends him out at the top, ready to face the Deadites again in an uncertain future. There is one certainty, however: you, dear reader, sitting your arse down and watching the entire series on Pluto TV for free.

Kendra Duggar’s Parents to Be Deposed in Joseph’s Legal Case
Kendra Duggar’s parents are set to be deposed as their son-in-law Joseph Duggar’s legal case continues.
According to court documents exclusively obtained by Us on Monday, July 20, Christina Caldwell and Paul Caldwell will travel to the office of the Florida state attorney and provide a deposition to Joseph’s attorney that can be used “at trial, and/or for such other purposes as are allowed by law.”
Us has reached out to Joseph’s attorney for comment.
Joseph, 31, was arrested in March after being accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in 2020. He was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct by a person 18 or older. He has since entered a written not guilty plea.
Kendra, who was also arrested on unrelated, separate charges before being released on bond, doesn’t appear to be distancing herself from Joseph and his family amid his ongoing legal troubles.
“I don’t know if it’s fear or naivete, but Kendra has totally sided with the Duggars and not her family,” a source exclusively shared with Us in April. “She is brainwashed.”
Another source claimed in May that Kendra was not communicating with her family and that the Caldwells “have left the home they were living in and all of their belongings are in storage.”
“It has been an extremely stressful time especially given the circumstances,” the source added.

A separate source, however, told Us that the Duggars have been “very good to the Caldwells” over the years and while what Joseph is accused of “is horrid and should be properly adjudicated,” it doesn’t make the Caldwells “victims.”
While the identity of Joseph’s alleged victim has yet to be revealed, a source told Us that the accuser is close to Kendra’s family.
“Christina and Paul Caldwell are not hiding the fact that Joseph’s victim is [close to the Caldwell family],” the insider shared with Us in April. “Christina has told other members of their church, but she is not sure she wants to talk about it so publicly. That is what she is struggling with, but she is not hiding it.”
Some fans may also recall Christian influencer Amy Paul previously accused the Duggars of retaliating against Kendra’s family in the wake of Joseph’s arrest.
Paul alleged that the Caldwells reported Joseph to police over child molestation allegations in March.
“I was also appalled at the lack of Christian charity that is being shown to this precious family [the Caldwells] that is in crisis,” Paul wrote via Instagram in April. “Not only were they put in the awful situation of turning their son-in-law into the police because he wasn’t man enough to take accountability himself, but he’s also kicking them out of their house and giving them 30 days to get out!”
Neither Joseph nor Kendra, 27, have publicly commented on their legal battles. However, both of their families have spoken out.
A spokesperson for Joseph’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, told Us in March that they are “heartbroken” over their son’s arrest.
“Right now, they are focused on loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time,” a family rep shared. “They are praying for the victim. They ask for privacy and appreciate the kind words and prayers offered by so many.”
In a separate Instagram statement, the Caldwell family wrote, “Our love for this child [victim] remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy.”

Bold and Beautiful 2-Week Spoilers July 20-31: Katie Devastated – Ridge Forced Into Damage Control
Bold and the Beautiful 2-Week Spoilers for July 20 – 31, 2026 stun as Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is absolutely crushed by nasty and untrue things said about her in an interview broadcast from Forrester Creations. Also, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) needs to do some damage control when Eric Forrester (John McCook) loses his mind on camera.
Also, during the two weeks of July 20th through the 31st, we’re going to see Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) also stunned. And Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) is back from her spa retreat, but even angrier than before she left. Plus, Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) is going to take a very personal hit and lots more. Let’s get into it.
Bold and the Beautiful: RJ Blathers to Electra
Monday, July 20th, we’ve got Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) listening as R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) drones on about how awful Will is. This is before they have the big launch. So, Eric’s new couture collection is debuting on Monday. If you remember, they had a big in-person event that they cancelled.
So, this is going to be a live stream with models on the runway and everybody watching from elsewhere. But first, the Forresters decide that Eric will do one interview and he totally loses his composure. Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge’s jaws drop as Eric goes off about Katie’s fashion house and Eric’s ranting to the reporter that Logan is trying to steal the Forrester thunder, that they’re thieves and liars.
It’s too bad this tantrum is going to cast a very bad light on Forrester Creations and may overshadow that launch. Meanwhile, Hope and Katie are watching from Logan. They’re in utter shock. Hope is stunned that Eric went off like that. Katie’s incredibly hurt.
B&B Spoilers: Bill’s Downright Giddy
Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) thinks all this is funny. He’s not taking it personally because he’s focused on the business boost that Logan is getting from this. And this week, Bill shows Katie the memes that are spreading online about Eric’s rant. But Katie’s still annoyed. Bill says that Eric brought this on himself and says Logan is getting great publicity and the public is on their side, not the Foresters.
But Katie still upset and tells Bill that Eric’s outburst made her look like a lying, backstabbing thief with no style. Now, Bill says that’s total nonsense and reminds Katie the public is with her, not Eric. But Katie’s still devastated. And Ridge and Steffy, of course, are stunned by what Eric did. And they realize that some damage control is needed.
Also, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) thinks Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is truly a changed woman. But we know Finn is not going to gain any ground with Steffy. And there’s no way as of now that she’s going to relent on letting Sheila into their lives.
Bold and Beautiful: Eric’s Meltdown and the Spencer-Forrester Clash
On Tuesday, July 21st, after his meltdown at the launch, we’re going to see Eric showing up at Bikini Bar. Strange place for him to be. And Will’s trying to talk Electra into leaving with him. And of course, R.J.’s there, too, being his usual intrusive, smack-talking nepo baby annoying self. Eric goes off on Will again, and Eric tells Will he’s not going anywhere with Electra, and Will calls Eric old man. Tells him he’ll do what he wants, and then R.J. decides to start something and aggressively grabs Will by the shirt and asks who he calls an old man.
I mean, really, R.J., I know you’re not bright, but Will’s obviously talking to the older man standing next to you. Was it a little rude calling Eric old man? Yes, but he’s also been a real jerk to Will lately, and R.J.’s the one who’s always there to stir the pot uninvited. So, Will pushes R.J. off of him, and they start grappling.
And Eric insanely decides to get between them and then it looks like as the younger men come to blows, Eric is hit accidentally by Will. Also. this week, Bill is with Will when he warns somebody not to talk about his mom Katie that way. I’m expecting it’ll be a Forrester and my money is on R.J.
B&B: RJ Might Retaliate
Wednesday, July 22nd. R.J. is defending his family. He may lash out physically and take a shot at Will. So far, we’ve just seen R.J. taking punches and not throwing any. So maybe R.J. will channel his dad, do like Ridge, and start hitting Spencers.
Eric takes a seat after he’s hit and Electra is kneeling down, checking on Eric and glaring at Will. Feels like this incident is going to be a deal breaker with Electra. She’ll probably decide they’re right. Will’s out of control. He’s dangerous. All of this. And this incident intensifies the war between the Spencer and the Forrester families.
Bold and the Beautiful: Fallout and Monaco Departure
Then on Thursday, July 23rd, the Forrester family makes it clear to Electra where they stand on her and Will. We’ve seen both Ridge and Eric demand that she dump Will and she still keeps insisting she loves him. But I think this time Electra is probably going to do it officially and make it clear it’s her choice, not something she’s been told to do, something she wants to do.
Brooke’s back early from the wellness center, not looking well at all. She’s ranting at Katie, who came to the Forrester mansion to check on Eric after the incident. Katie’s concerned about him, but still upset by his interview rant about her. And she tells Eric she’s sorry he was hit. Brooke’s going off saying Katie wanted this war.
Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) is there holding onto a rumpled Eric who doesn’t seem worse for wear. I didn’t see any black eyes or bruises. Sure, he’s fine. This is all nonsense. Did Brooke forget she just slapped Katie and then lunged at her after the launch with obvious ill intent?
Has Ridge forgotten that he went over and sucker punched Bill at the Spencer offices just the other day? And still Katie’s there doing the work trying to smooth things over? But with Brooke’s recent victim behavior, I definitely don’t see her being open to making peace between their families.
Bold and Beautiful: Dylan is There for Will
On Friday, July 24th, Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) steps up for Will. She’s going to be his rock. Electra is not supporting Will at all. She never has. Everything’s always about Electra. And in fact, she’s turned on him and it looks like she’s going to adopt the Spencers and Forresters don’t mix mindset. Dylan has already told Will that he deserves better than Electra, somebody who’s on his side. They’re going to get a lot closer soon.
Katie and Eric discuss their past actions. I think it would be great, but unlikely if he actually owned up to asking her to work at Logan. Eric came to Katie because he wanted revenge on Ridge and Brooke for firing him or forcibly retiring him. That’s 100% what happened. Katie didn’t trick him.
She didn’t manipulate him or lure him. She just granted Eric’s request. So, Katie looks upset at the Forrester mansion on Friday. And if Eric doesn’t own up on how he came to be at Logan, Ridge and Brooke and the others are going to continue to spread these lies about how Katie was somehow engaged in fashion design elder abuse. This is very frustrating.

Bold Spoilers: FC Fate Revealed
Then the week of July 27th through the 31st, we’re going to find out whether Eric’s couture collection was rated a smash or trash by the fashion press. Even if they like the gowns he designed, the name calling and the false accusations aimed at Katie have made Eric look like he’s lost it. Carter already warned them that there is this thing out there in the fashion sphere that they have culture problems at Forrester. This whole thing didn’t help.
Hope’s back up at Logan getting started on her next Hope by Logan collection, but she gets an unwelcome visitor that interrupts her. And we’re going to see Hope stand her ground with this person. I’m expecting Steffy or Brooke and they’re ranting about Hope’s betrayal and heaping blame on her and Katie for everything wrong in their lives. We should see Will leaning on Dylan after Electra blows up at him over the Eric incident. And she’s made it clear there is zero chance for them.
B&B Spoilers: Katie & The Spencers More Determined than Ever
Katie leaves the conversation at the Forrester mansion more determined to make a success of Logan and with the knowledge that Brooke and Ridge will never have any chill. I’m sure they’re going to blame Katie for Eric’s interview and if the launch doesn’t go like they think it should have. Also, we’re going to see Ridge, Brooke, Steffy, and Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) heading off to Monaco.
The Monte Carlo episodes of Bold and the Beautiful begin airing on July 29th, and we’re going to see Sheila following Steffy and Finn to Monaco. And Brad Bell says what happens there changes lives forever. So, we’ll see. I’m wondering if they go to Monte Carlo as some sort of damage control effort. Watch for R.J. to be slimy all over Electra trying to force his way into being her boyfriend now that she and Will are completely broken and Daphne and Carter soon consider alternative options to start a family.

Anne Hathaway’s Stylish Baby Bump Moments Before Baby No. 3
Pregnant Anne Hathaway’s chic red carpet style has been front and center as she prepares to welcome her and husband Adam Shulman’s third baby.
The Oscar winner announced her pregnancy at 43 in June, after previously giving birth to sons Jonathan and Jack in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
Hathaway admitted on the Late Show With Seth Meyers in July that she and Shulman, who have been married since 2012, were “so shocked” that she did get pregnant in her 40s, jokingly calling the pregnancy “our buzzer-beater,” referring to a basketball shot that goes in right before the final buzzer ends the game.
Despite being surprised at the news, Hathaway has fully embraced this phase of life and has been slaying the pregnancy style game every step of the way — especially during her press tour for The Odyssey.

I Keep Searching For Lifetime Thrillers On Netflix, And Now We All Have To Suffer
By Robert Scucci
| Updated

If you were to ask me what The Book Club Murders was about, I’d probably eat my own hand before taking a deep breath and calmly asking you to read the title again. The spoiler is right there: there are a bunch of murders happening, and the book club at the center of the affected community has something to do with it. It’s a bunch of middle-aged Mean Girls trying to figure out why all their loved ones are getting slaughtered, but nobody is self-aware enough to have a conversation without getting interrupted right before they have the opportunity to say the thing that will clear their name or point investigators in the right direction.
The movie starts with a fire, allusions to a missing persons case, and then introduces us to our major players, who all live in homes that are either clearly sound stages built specifically for Lifetime movies or look like they’re staged for an open house at any given moment because real estate prices in 2024 are just that great.

The film score gives you exactly the kind of sonic shorthand you need (cue the sinister sounding strings) while you’re spoon-fed conflict that lacks any real mystery or ambiguity until the final 20 minutes, where the twist ending comes out of nowhere and doesn’t feel earned so much as tacked on when somebody realized this thing needed to wrap up in 87 minutes (why are all Lifetime movies the exact same length?).
Everything is just a little too convenient in The Book Club Murders, but I can’t stop watching these movies because I’m a writer, and sometimes the best lesson you can learn is how not to make a psychological thriller.
A Dead Dad, A Missing Girl, And A Poison Pen

The Book Club Murders introduces us to inoffensive and conventionally attractive mother-daughter duo Natalie (Brittany Underwood) and Gwen (Eva Igo) Johnston, who are browsing at Back Forty Books, owned by Wendy Novak (Ainsley Burch). Both Natalie and Gwen are established as homebodies because of the recent tragedy they faced when their house was set ablaze, killing Gwen’s father and Natalie’s husband.
Through a not-so-subtle use of Chekhov’s gun, we’re also clued into the disappearance of troubled teenager Lauren McClain (Julia Zook), who briefly lived with the Johnstons before the fire and hasn’t been seen since. Gwen urges Natalie to join Wendy’s book club so she can have the house to herself one night a week, allowing her to hang out with her boyfriend Tony Chandler (Aaron Goehle), who just so happens to be the son of Detective Chandler (Mike Bredon), who’s married to Sadie Chandler (Nicole Weber), a mainstay at Wendy’s book club.

Now that every character (most of them, anyway; you don’t need to know about anybody else, trust me) is established in The Book Club Murders, the book club murders can finally kick off. The women learn about a series of poison pen letters, written anonymously, that are plaguing their community, often alluding to personal information that nobody else in the group should have access to while also letting them know who the next victim will be.
One by one, people start dropping like flies while their dark secrets are exposed. When Natalie opens her mail, she comes across two different parcels that make things interesting (not really): a life insurance payout for $500,000 because of the fire that claimed her husband, and a letter in its signature black envelope with a red wax seal addressed to Gwen that she quietly hides away in a drawer.

Detective Chandler, who suspects Gwen and Natalie of being involved in both the house fire and Lauren’s disappearance, doesn’t want Gwen seeing his son anymore. Meanwhile, Sadie, who’s made it very clear to Gwen that she’ll ruin her life if she keeps poking around, does whatever she can to drag the mother and daughter through the mud, almost as if she’s hiding something herself.
This World Is Too Small
Another pattern I’ve noticed while burning through these Lifetime movies is just how small the worlds they exist in actually are. It’s always somebody dating somebody close to the case, and they’re not to be trusted because of what another person who just happened to be at the same location happened to observe. Everybody talks to everybody else, and when the ongoing murder mystery turns into a retroactive investigation of the house fire and Lauren’s mysterious ability to vanish without a trace, everybody has something to say and generally knows where everybody is, stripping this already lackluster mystery of whatever thrills it had left.

Everybody is also so painfully stupid in this context, and the small world gets even smaller when Wendy calls multiple women to her bookstore after hours to show them something she wouldn’t dare divulge over the phone. Of course, multiple parties show up at the same time a new body does, but you saw this coming from a mile away and shouldn’t be surprised at this point, right? Right?!
The Book Club Murders is fun for a quick laugh while you’re doing something more meaningful with your time in the background. If there’s ever a kind of movie you throw on while folding laundry so you don’t miss anything worth watching, while simultaneously keeping yourself from ruminating on the horrors of the world because there are enough pretty colors moving across the screen of your moving picture box, it’s this one.

And I think this is the only kind of situation where you should actively seek out titles like The Book Club Murders on Netflix. As a general rule of thumb, if a movie has no critical score, audience score, or Wikipedia page, it’s probably not very noteworthy. Tubi already has all the good movies that fit this description.

Many fans don’t like them targeting the only two Black women in the cast. Lala and Taylor do a lot of cleaning – Lala’s a straight-up neat freak. Sounds like Dee and Angela’s plan is to pull this stuff to get a rise out of Taylor and Lala to make them targets. Devens apparently has been in on some of this plotting.
Also, Barrett Pfeiffer lost it this morning when BB told him not to talk about production and he snapped. So, Devens warned everyone not to talk to Barrett until he had more coffee. Apparently, being a Have Not has got Barrett starving and losing his mind.
Big Brother 28: Warning Shots Fired
But even worse, a true crisis was brewing in the house this morning. The coffee maker’s not working! And Mallory Aurichio couldn’t fix it despite her pipe queen reputation. Also on the feeds, production issued a warning about not talking about DR sessions.
Salty Mallory complained about being ignored. Drew Campbell also told Dee that Mallory’s causing issues and warned Dee that “Mallory’s psycho”. Dee said, “I don’t give a care.. She said she didn’t give a f**k if Mallory hates her. Said she couldn’t care less.
Big Brother 28: Angela’s Egg is Boiling
Also, Angela’s losing it over being stuck in the Egg Detective punishment costume. She can’t get up off the floor. She was rolling around in the backyard in it. She told Chuk Anyanwu she can barely eat. She was trying to eat ramen in it making a mess.
But Jason reassured her this would be iconic. Angela said she hopes the next five time capsule winners all get punishments. But then later, she was cam-talking to the live feeders asking them to all vote Devens for the next BB Time Capsule.
And apparently the sheer weight of the costume is causing Angela physical pain. The whole thing including the magnifying glass looks bigger than it did when Vince Panaro wore it in BB27. Angela complained and they added some support around the neck to help.
Big Brother 28: A Storm Brewing in the Shower?
Also, Devens, Drew and Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk all squished into a bubble bath together wearing boots and hats. Devens had on a shirt but the other two guys didn’t. Melody snapped some pics of them since production gave them a camera.
Then, Kamu wanted to take photos with Drew in the shower. So, that’s questionable on a few different levels. Anyone who pees in the shower – just yuck. Rome’s gushing about how much he loves Lyric, how he’s never felt this way about a girl before.
Rome called her sweet and selfless and cute. Also, Barrett’s turning on Drew and is whispering to Angela that Drew’s like a little Dr. Will.
Big Brother 28: Devens Misses out on More Screen Time
And this little fun tidbit. James Gunn, who’s directing the Superman sequel, is a mega Big Brother fan. Remember, he was on Unlocked last season. So, he said he knows Devens and offered him a little background spot in the Superman movie.
James Gunn said Devens had to cancel – because the movie’s filming now. He told James that he couldn’t tell him why he had to cancel, but Devens said he’d be excited. And James Gunn confirmed he is excited to see Devens on Big Brother.

Big Brother 28: Veto Ceremony Results and Final Three
So, on Sunday, Devens talked to most of the Crossovers and they agreed he’d use the power of veto on Melody. They said take her off the block, and renominate Rome. Then, it’d be Jason, Rome and Lyric heading into the BB Blockbuster.
That way, if Lyric and Rome were on the block together Thursday night, they couldn’t vote to save each other. But somehow, Devens got talked into swapping over to saving Lyric. So, if Rome’s still on the block Thursday night as a final nominee, she’d likely vote to save him. Even if it was another unified house vote, Lyric might vote to save Rome.
Before the veto meeting, Devens confirmed to Lyric he’d use the veto on her and renominate Rome. And Devens also told Rome. Turns out, it was Angela and Dee who talked Devens into it. They said if Rome stays, then saving Lyric might squash some beef. Hmm.
What’s ironic is that Angela complained to Dee that Devens is too easily swayed. Yet Angela and Dee literally just swayed Devens to change who he’ll use the veto on. So, the feeds went down on Monday and when they came back up, he’d done what Angela and Dee wanted.
Big Brother 28: Jason, Rome and Melody on The Block
Devens used his power of veto on Lyric and pulled her off the block. Then, he renominated Rome. So, that means Jason, Rome and Melody are the three nominees heading into the BB Blockbuster on Thursday’s live eviction episode.
After the veto meeting, Kamu was talking to people about evicting Jason instead of Rome. My thought is that Devens is making a weak play by taking a half-hearted shot at Rome. That’s what it is. When you take a shot, you gotta mean it.
Now, Lyric’s off the block to campaign for Rome and is a vote for him. It feels like weak strategy to me.
Big Brother 28: Info on the Interwebs?
Last, my tweet of the day today isn’t a funny one. It’s a spilling tea one. So, we know Drew’s been chasing Melody around and seems to be really into her. He told her that he and his ex broke up a month before he came into the BB28 house.
But it looks like that’s not true. Allegedly. Someone posted a photo of Drew and his presumed ex-girlfriend wondering when they split. Then someone named Chloe Shoh tweeted that Drew and his girlfriend are still together.
She says she shares mutual friends with his girlfriend. Then, Chloe said his girlfriend probably said “do whatever it takes to win.” Wasn’t that what Vince claimed Kelsey said in BB27 before he dove into that questionable showmance with Morgan?

What Did Lindsay Clancy Do? Mom on Trial for Killing Kids
Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three young children in January 2023, is set to face trial as her defense team mounts an insanity plea. She is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, who were strangled inside the family’s home while their father was out picking up dinner.
Before her trial began on July 20, 2026, Clancy’s attorney argued she may not be criminally responsible for the killings, pointing to postpartum psychosis and a cocktail of prescribed medications.
Everything to know about the case, below.
Lindsay Clancy’s Insanity Defense Takes Shape
Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington told the court his client was overmedicated for postpartum depression when the killings occurred.
Reddington has said Clancy struggled with depression for a long time and voluntarily committed herself to a local psychiatric hospital less than a month before her children died, per CNN. Her doctors took her on and off medications to treat the depression, which Reddington said only worsened her symptoms.
At a pretrial hearing in June 2026, Reddington and the commonwealth’s prosecutors debated what expert evidence would be admissible to support an insanity plea.
Reddington argued jurors should hear why Clancy and her husband, Patrick Clancy, “would go to consult with doctors because of depression, because of the life that she was living, which was one of horrific misery because of medications.”
Prosecutors pushed back and signaled they may bring in their own experts to testify on whether Clancy was criminally responsible for the killings.
What Happened Inside the Clancy Home in January 2023?
The killings took place on January 24, 2023, when Lindsay asked Patrick to go pick up dinner for the family. Patrick returned home 25 minutes later to a devastating scene: his wife had jumped out the window from the second story of their home.
While calling 911, Patrick discovered that all three of their children had been strangled with exercise bands tied around their necks. Cora and Dawson were rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead soon after. Their youngest, 8-month-old Callan, died a few days later.
Reddington has said the defense believes Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time and that she had been prescribed 15 medications in the months leading up to the tragedy in response to her postpartum depression. Prosecutors, however, have argued that Clancy carefully planned and plotted the killings when she sent her husband out for food.
Clancy was arrested and pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder. She is currently being held at the public Tewksbury Hospital in Massachusetts.
Lindsay Clancy’s Bifurcated Trial Request Denied
In April 2026, Reddington filed a motion revealing that Clancy “is offering to admit that she killed the children” if the judge agreed to a bifurcated trial format, according to WCVB. A bifurcated trial is a two-stage legal proceeding in which liability and damages are heard separately and often decided by the same jury.
“The defendant states that the issue of the actions that resulted in the death of the decedents in the indictments at the bar is not a live issue and the defendant is willing to stipulate formally in writing to her involvement,” the motion read, per People. The filing went on to state that, as a result of the admission, “the only live issue for consideration at trial would be the defendant’s state of mind as it relates to the defense of lack of criminal responsibility.”
The April 2026 motion followed an earlier denial of another defense request that would have split the proceedings into two separate trials — one to determine whether Clancy was guilty and a second to determine whether she was criminally responsible for the killings.
Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan ultimately denied the bifurcated trial request as well, ruling the matter could be handled in a single trial.
Lindsay Clancy’s Path to the July Trial
Reddington first announced in December 2025 that the defense intended to pursue an insanity plea, arguing that Clancy was in the grip of postpartum psychosis when she asked Patrick to leave the house that January evening. Ahead of the trial, Clancy was scheduled to undergo a forensic psychological evaluation.
The trial had originally been set to begin in February 2026 before it was postponed to July 20, 2026. Clancy also appeared in court on April 23, 2026, for a status hearing as both sides continued to spar over what evidence and testimony would be presented to jurors.
Prosecutors continue to maintain that Clancy carefully staged the moments before the killings, sending Patrick out of the house so she would be alone with the children. The defense counters that her behavior that evening was the tragic culmination of untreated and mismanaged postpartum illness — not premeditation.
If Clancy is found not guilty by reason of insanity, she would likely be committed to a psychiatric facility rather than sentenced to prison. A first-degree murder conviction in Massachusetts carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
