Police locked down streets after smoke billowed into nearby streets.
A huge blaze erupted after a bus burst into flames at a depot in a Scots town.
Firefighters scrambled to the Lynedoch Street in Greenock this afternoon at around 4:35pm, Friday, December 12, after being alerted by a member of the public.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reported that the fire started after a bus went up in flames at the Greenock bus depot.
Fire crews battled to bring the blaze under control for a number of hours but it is not believed that anyone was injured as result of the fire.
Cops locked down several streets around the bus station with heavy smoke reported in the area.
Pictures show a huge emergency services response at the scene, with a bystander describing seeing around 12 police and fire vehicles.
One image shows a firefighter standing near the bus as huge orange flames enveloped the vehicle.
Another picture shows the fire having spead to other parts of the premises.
While huge plumes of smoke can been seen in a photo taken from behind a fence outside the bus depot.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “A member of the public called to report a fire at a premises on Lynedoch Street in Greenock at around 4:35pm this afternoon, Friday, December 12.
“We sent two appliances and found a bus on fire in a yard. There were no casualties to report.”
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
