Unstable Weather Expected Across UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast a period of unstable weather across the UAE from the evening of 12 December through 19 December, with scattered rainfall, varying wind patterns and fluctuating sea conditions expected throughout the week.

In its latest report, the NCM said the country will be influenced by the extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by an upper-level low that will deepen and weaken at intervals. This combination is set to generate increased cloud cover and intermittent showers in different areas across the UAE.

Winds are expected to shift between southeasterly and northeasterly, occasionally turning northwesterly as weather systems move across the region.

The NCM noted that wind speeds will remain light to moderate for most of the period but may become active at times, particularly when clouds develop, which could lead to blowing dust and reduced visibility over some inland areas.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will range from slight to moderate. However, the NCM cautioned that the Arabian Gulf may become rough at times, especially during periods of increased cloud activity.

The centre said it will continue to monitor developments and urged the public to follow official updates, particularly as weather conditions may change rapidly during the forecast period.
