George R. R. Martin’s New Game of Thrones Release Officially Confirms a Popular Westeros Fan Theory

Published

on

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister in 'Game of Thrones' Season 7.

Game of Thrones has several spin-offs, but one recent addition has brought the franchise to the stage for the first time. After a slight delay, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s new play Game of Thrones: The Mad King has officially begun its run, giving a glimpse of Westeros in a different era. This story is the most closely connected to the events of Game of Thrones, set just a single generation before the original HBO series. Most significantly, it features the infamous Tourney at Harrenhal, a pivotal moment in Westeros history that neither the flagship HBO series nor George R. R. Martin‘s books explore at length.

‘The Mad King’ Answers a Question That ‘Game of Thrones’ Never Confirmed

In bringing the Tourney at Harrenhal to life, The Mad King reportedly resolves a long-standing mystery that neither the HBO series nor the books ever confirmed. The Knight of the Laughing Tree, who defended the honor of Howland Reed and became a focus of the Mad King Aerys II’s paranoia, is an important part of the event, but their identity is never uncovered. Leaning into a popular fan theory, the play apparently establishes that this knight is Lyanna Stark (played by Harmony Rose-Bremner), which adds even more significance to her story as revealed in Game of Thrones.

As the story goes, the Knight of the Laughing Tree was short, had a booming voice, and carried a shield bearing a weirwood tree, joining the lists late to challenge the knights whose squires bullied Howland Reed. Even King Aerys II didn’t know who the knight was, much to his frustration, but he failed to unmask the knight. With only clues such as their appearance, a shield referencing the Old Gods, and the fact that the Stark siblings were the only witnesses to what happened to Howland, fans have proposed several theories about the knight’s identity over the years, with the possibilities ranging from Howland himself to Ashara Dayne to even Ned Stark himself.

While each theory could fit, the most popular by far is that Lyanna is the Knight of the Laughing Tree, and that is what the play depicts. In this version of the story, Lyanna’s brothers don’t know what she is doing, leaving few, if any, who could confirm her role during the years of Game of Thrones. However, one person does discover the truth. In The Mad King, Lyanna confesses the truth to Rhaegar (Noah Ritter), who helps conceal her involvement. The fact that the Knight of the Laughing Tree’s identity is a secret shared between Lyanna and Rhaegar makes it instrumental to their relationship and the events that significantly shape the lead-up to Game of Thrones: the war and the birth of Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

Is ‘The Mad King’ Officially ‘Game of Thrones’ Canon?

While it may be exciting for the truth behind this mysterious event to finally be uncovered, it’s also important to remember that The Mad King isn’t officially regarded as canon. While Lyanna largely fits as the person behind the Knight of the Laughing Tree, and many fans will be thrilled that the play supports their theory, it isn’t a full confirmation. The story is an adaptation, which means things could drastically change from Martin’s vision. The full title, Game of Thrones: The Mad King, even connects the play to the HBO series more than A Song of Ice and Fire. Although Lyanna is the Knight of the Laughing Tree in the play, Martin could reveal a different version in his upcoming novels, if and when they are published.

However, the play’s resolution to this long-held mystery isn’t just coming out of nowhere; Martin himself was involved in the production, meaning he could easily have shared privileged information with The Mad King‘s creative team. While he is known for being vocally critical of changes to his stories, Martin previously praised the play, saying, “Duncan [Macmillan]’s masterful script honours the world completely,” which lends credence to the likelihood that the story follows Martin’s intended plan — if not to the letter, at least in the major plot points. Confirming the fan theory that Lyanna is the Knight of the Laughing Tree, however, adds an exciting layer to Game of Thrones‘ latest spin-off.

Marvel Is Officially Failing the X-Men

Published

on

uncanny-x-men-rogue-calico

Comic books have come a long way since their advent in 1933, but they have evolved significantly over the last ten years as the industry has grappled with writing stories in a post-Comicsgate era. Still, some of the most celebrated titles have found themselves falling into familiar and oftentimes uncomfortable patterns.

Few writers embody this evolution more uniquely than Gail Simone, whose early commentary helped redefine how gender and agency are understood in mainstream superhero media. In 1999, prior to her professional writing debut, Simone launched the website “Women in Refrigerators,” coining a phrase that forever altered comic book criticism. Sparked by the infamous death of Kyle Rayner’s girlfriend Alexandra DeWitt (who was murdered and stuffed into a refrigerator in Green Lantern #54) the term described a pervasive industry trope where female characters were routinely killed, maimed, or otherwise de-powered purely to advance the emotional arcs of male heroes.

Simone’s sharp critique propelled her into the industry itself, where she swiftly became a powerhouse writer for both DC and Marvel, crafting acclaimed runs on titles like Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, and even Deadpool while proving that female characters could anchor the same complex narratives as their male peers.

That legacy makes the last two years of her run on Uncanny X-Men all the more jarring. As the first woman to be the mainline’s sole writer, Simone benefited from a degree of “plot armor,” so to say, which allowed her early missteps to be given a pass. However, this run has slowly become a depressing descent into the very creative pitfalls she spent decades dismantling.

Rather than propelling the mutant flagship forward, Simone’s work succumbs to clunky prose, dated characterizations, and a frustrating reliance on regressive tropes that feel out of character for not only the franchise, but Simone as a writer. Perhaps most glaring is how the narrative falters under the weight of subtle microaggressions and tone-deaf interpersonal dynamics, which begets the question of how an icon of feminist comic commentary could deliver a story so strangely out of step with her own established standard.

‘Uncanny X-Men’ Is Fixated on Overhyping Already Overhyped Characters

The most immediate, and perhaps least egregious, casualty of this run is the regression of Rogue and Gambit, whose iconic relationship is flattened into a hollow caricature. Rather than leading the team as a formidable leader in her own right, Rogue is reduced to little more than a domestic “tradwife” existing solely in relation to her husband. It quickly becomes evident that the narrative prioritizes making Gambit look effortless and cool instead of allowing Rogue to command respect as an actual leader.

Rogue’s dialogue (and Remy’s, admittedly) is weighed down by heavy-handed, exaggerated Southern phonetics that read more like mocking stereotypes than authentic regional voices. Compounding this domestic imbalance is the awkward insertion of Calico; forcing an infantilized teenage mutant into their immediate living situation pushes Rogue further into a suburban foster-parent trope, taking her even further away from the frontlines of mutant leadership. The narrative comes across as off-putting as Calico is written in a deeply juvenile way which includes seeing the teenage mutant crawling into bed with Rogue and Remy — a couple she has only known for a few months.

This superficial obsession with making Gambit look cool constantly sacrifices basic narrative logic for cheap, unearned hype. A glaring example occurs during a major battle sequence in Uncanny X-Men #32, where Remy abruptly transforms into the “Wyvern” — a monstrous form that has been teased relentlessly for nearly ten issues and hyped up on promotional art. Instead of delivering a dramatic, satisfying payoff to all of that teasing, the transformation arrives suddenly at a moment that makes little sense within the flow of the story.

While the storyline is still in flux, with next week’s issue intending to follow up on Gambit’s new dragon dilemma, it remains a textbook case of style over substance: prioritizing flashy “badass” visuals over a coherent plot, leaving Gambit with an empty spectacle that will inevitably lead nowhere. But these minor scruples pale in comparison to the optics of some of Simone’s more confounding narrative choices.

This uneven focus extends to the rest of the cast and setting, leaving the broader team dynamic severely undercooked. Cyclops, who is historically the tactical anchor and ideological heart of the franchise, is thoroughly underwritten, stripped of his usual gravity and pushed to the periphery. Meanwhile, the narrative’s focus on the Outliers feels deeply skewed and underdeveloped, giving priority to a new cast that lacks the emotional weight or narrative setup to justify their page time.

Anchoring Rogue’s team in Louisiana only exacerbates these issues; compared to the high-stakes, globally resonant scope that has always defined the X-Men, this regional backdrop feels insular. Ultimately, it reads as a weak attempt to force Gambit’s specific corner of the universe into a level of importance it was never meant to hold. But these minor scruples pale in comparison to the optics of some of Simone’s more confounding narrative choices.

‘Uncanny X-Men’ Is Failing the Legacy of the Series

uncanny-xmen-manga-kid Image via Marvel Studios

The systemic issues in this run extend far beyond casual tone-deafness, hardening into a pattern of micro- and macro- aggressions specifically targeting Black and Asian characters. This harmful dynamic serves as the driving impetus for the “Raid on Graymalkin” and “Manhunt” arcs, which ultimately fizzled out into frustratingly dead ends, despite allegedly being planned from Uncanny X-Men #1.

Most striking is the treatment of Monet St. Croix, a Black Muslim woman whose established characterization has always centered on bodily autonomy and a fierce opposition to incarceration. Reducing her to the temporary warden of Graymalkin — a fascist concentration camp where mutants are detained until human authorities arrive — completely guts the core of her identity, reframing a hero of liberation as an enforcer of state-sanctioned violence.

What renders this direction as so acutely offensive is the sheer hypocrisy of its poor execution. For a run that postures an understanding of prison abolition and the horrors of systemic marginalization against those deemed as “other,” it arrives at a conclusion where a fascist camp’s existence is justified so long as a marginalized woman is the one holding the keys. This is a profound failure of text and subtext.

Placing Monet in direct parallel with figures like Corina (effectively weaponizing her as a cop and a jailer to her own oppressed people) turns the comic’s underlying civil rights allegory — a staple for the X-Men — on its head for all the wrong reasons. While it is true that what a character says and does is not an endorsement by the author, that does not mean authorial choices are above reproach, particularly when a pattern begins to emerge.

‘Uncanny X-Men’ Is Doubling Down on Its Missteps

Another recurring pattern in Simone’s Uncanny X-Men run is the abundance of cultural insensitivity and subtle microaggressions woven into the dialogue. Asian characters are routinely subjected to lazy, exoticized tropes. Of note, Logan casually refers to the young Japanese mutant Deathdream as a “manga kid,” which Simone glibly responded to criticism by framing it as Wolverine “incorrectly” calling him that. This casual bias rears its head again with Calico’s most recent interactions with Pietro Maximoff. Calico treats Pietro — a character of Romani heritage and a man of color — with a smug, condescending superiority (despite being in a moment of crisis), dismissively refusing to even view him as a true mutant.

Rather than celebrating the rich diversity that has long defined the franchise, these characterizations alienate readers, reducing an ambitious flagship era to a series of uncomfortable missteps. While there is some narrative explanation for Calico’s behavior, it is nevertheless jarring to see a blue-eyed, blonde-haired white woman othering a character who is, historically, the son of a Holocaust survivor. Coupled with the optics of tethering her to the franchise’s most cookie-cutter Southern couple, it feels as though Simone is doubling down on an inherent and accepted bias about Southern ideals.

Watching an industry titan like Gail Simone, whose entire legacy was built on dismantling harmful tropes, fall into these exact creative traps is a deeply disheartening turn for modern comic criticism — especially as she argues with fans of her writing on social media. Yet this failure does not rest solely on her shoulders; Marvel shares equal responsibility for allowing one of its most iconic flagships to languish without editorial discipline or vision.

At a crucial inflection point in the franchise’s decades-long history, when the X-Men’s core allegories require genuine nuance, intersectional awareness, and real gravitas, the publisher has instead settled for superficial gimmicks and passive oversight. What should have been a landmark era led by one of the industry’s most influential female voices has instead devolved into a stark reminder that legacy alone cannot sustain a title — and that the X-Men, along with their readership, deserve far better than unexamined tropes and hollow execution.

The Movie Features Owen Wilson, Travis Scott

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

If you’re looking for a comedian/hip-hop crossover, look no further, as the official trailer for Rolling Loud: The Movie has arrived.

Back in December 2024, Owen Wilson gave fans a moment they didn’t quite see coming when he crashed the stage during rapper Travis Scott’s headline set at Rolling Loud Miami — but what was he doing there? Now we finally have our answer.

Rolling Loud released the official first glimpse at the largest hip-hop festival’s first-ever production, set to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

The movie follows a stiffly conventional, hopelessly uptight father (Owen Wilson) who decides the fastest way to win over his 13-year-old son (Christian Convery) and claim “cool-dad” status is to disguise a trip to Rolling Loud as an ordinary father-son fishing trip. As the father-son duo parade around the grounds of Hard Rock Stadium, they become separated — and Wilson is seen frantically scouring crowds and crazed moshpits alongside two festivalgoers, played by Matt Rife and Christine Ko.

The trailer wastes no time throwing the trio into the thick of finding the teenager, cutting between strobing stage lights, pyrotechnics and a sea of bodies that continuously swallow Wilson whole every time he thinks he’s caught up to his son. Along the way, Wilson’s character gets tangled up in brawls, thrown around in the middle of moshpits and even ends up bouncing around on stage alongside the “Highest in the Room” rapper himself.

The high-energy chaos also features cameos from hip-hop’s hottest acts, including Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign and Ski Mask the Slump God, each stepping into roles that play up their real-life personas. Henry Winkler and Jolene Blalock also join the cast, and Jeremy Garelick, who also penned the screenplay, sits in the director’s chair.

None of the onscreen mayhem would have been possible without the on-site filming during the 2024 Rolling Loud Miami festival, where the production leaned on the festival’s crowd and atmosphere to generate the feeling of the movie’s pandemonium.

For those unfamiliar with the festival, Rolling Loud got its start in Miami back in 2015, launched by childhood friends Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif. What began as a local event has since become a major force in the hip-hop world, with the festival now touching down in cities well beyond South Florida, including New York and San Francisco, and even making international stops in countries such as Germany, Thailand, Portugal and India.

Lindsay Clancy Looked Up Treatment for a ‘Sociopath’ in Search History

Lindsay Clancy Breaks Silence After 4 Kids Murders in Court

Lindsay Clancy’s search history was discussed during her murder trial, and it was revealed she looked up “can you treat a sociopath” before she killed her three kids.

During the trial on Thursday, August 13, Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Timothy Chiappini took the witness stand after he was tasked to extract data from Clancy’s phone.

Clancy, 36, is on trial for killing her kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan in January 2023.

During his testimony, Chiappini read contents from Clancy’s search history, text messages and notes from her phone, according to the Associated Press.

Lindsay Clancy spoke for the first time during her trial after she was charged with the murders of her three children. When asked whether she could stipulate the facts, she […]

He read the one search about a “sociopath” from January 23, 2023, which was just four days before the kids were killed.

Chiappini also read notes he found on Clancy’s phone, in which she detailed her struggles and personal affirmations.

He went on to read a text exchange between Clancy and her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, about ordering takeout, which was sent on the day that the children were killed.

Chiappini was also cross-examined by Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, who asked him about the large volume of data that was pulled from her phone.

Reddington asked Chiappini is he recalled looking for searches related to suicide, though he said he did not recall. However, Chiappini did say he found a search from Lindsay’s phone about “hallucinations” that was made just days before the killings.

Lindsay pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges, though she has admitted to killing her kids. Her defense has argued that she was not criminally responsible for the murders because she was overmedicated and experiencing extreme postpartum psychosis when the murders occurred.

Meanwhile, prosecutors argued that Lindsay was aware of what she was doing at the time her children died. Prosecution also pointed out that Lindsay attempted suicide by jumping out of the second story of her home after she strangled her kids, which they argued implied that the killings may have been intentional.

If Lindsay is found not criminally responsible for the killings, she will likely be sent to a state mental health facility in Massachusetts. If she is found guilty of first-degree murder, she can be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Folks online are flooding social media with questions after a video surfaced showing a woman believed to be Nevaeh Akira’s mom seemingly speaking on her relationship with Blueface. The surfaced video comes after Nevaeh previously threw shade at Karlissa Saffold for inserting herself into her son’s relationships.

Woman Alleged To Be Nevaeh Akira’s Mother Seemingly Speaks On Her Relationship With Blueface

In the video shared by ClippedCircus, the woman alleged to be Nevaeh Akira’s mom doesn’t directly mention her or Blueface, but she appears to mock social media users who she says have been in her comments telling her, “Go get your daughter money ain’t everything.”

Nevaeh’s reported mother didn’t stop her clap back there. She told those concerned about her daughter to “go get her.” She also said adults can move however they choose and noted that she’s addressed “this topic” several times.

“You go get her. You so worried about her, you go f*****g get her. Have fun with that,” she continued. “You can’t make an adult do what they don’t want to do. I’ve addressed this too, a million times.”

A clip from Blueface and Nevaeh’s recent livestream went viral on X (formerly Twitter), showing them chilling at a restaurant while she reads comments from the chat. She didn’t directly name-drop Blueface’s mom, but fans instantly assumed she was referring to Karlissa when she said she was happy her mother wasn’t online talking bad about her or who she chose to have a baby with.

“I’m glad I don’t have no weird a** momma that’s gonna sit up and talk about my relationship […] talk bad about the person I chose to make life with,” Nevaeh said. “I’m glad she accepts it, but talks her sh*t behind without having to be on social media and have a record of it, cause she gon’ mind her business.”

Claressa Shields Claps Back At BroRilla After She Compares Her Looks To Remy Ma

It was only a matter of time before Claressa Shields entered the chat after Victoria “BroRilla” Woods dissed her and compared her looks to Remy Ma during a heated rant. Shields hopped online with her own clap back, ready for the smoke, and told BroRilla to step to the front.

Claressa Shields Came Ready For The Smoke With BroRilla

Whew! Claressa Shields peeped the shade and went IN on BroRilla after she dragged her online and compared her looks to Remy Ma. Shields told her livestream viewers she spotted “another clout chaser” and said she was tired of seeing BroRilla on the internet talking.

“BroRilla, bring your swole head a** up in here. BroRIlla, bring ya b***h a** up in here […] I’m tired of you.” Shields added, “I don’t know you, but let me tell you something […] that’s why you turned into a boy, because you ugly.”

The boxing champ also said she doesn’t care what BroRilla thinks about her looks because she’s locked in on her August 15th fight against Kaye Scott. Shields then told BroRilla that folks only know her because of GloRilla and questioned whether she has a name of her own.

“B***h, I got my fight in two days. Nobody gives a f**k if I look good or pretty to you.” She continued, “You using your sister n***a, we know GloRilla. You BroRilla cause you GloRilla sister. You don’t even have a f*****g name.”

The GWOAT Says Enough Is Enough — She’s Ready To Let Her Hands Do The Talking

Claressa wasn’t done — in fact she had that “just getting started” energy. She addressed BroRilla’s comments about calling the cops on her if she ever tried to fight her. “Call the police. I’m so f*****g fast as soon as you call them imma be gone by the time I beat your a**.”

Claressa still wasn’t ducking any smoke, though, and said she was ready to come to Memphis so they could settle things face-to-face. “I should’ve already beat your a** for playing with GloRilla. So, just so you know GloRilla I’m beating BroRilla a** on the strength of you.”

Here’s What BroRilla Previously Said About The Boxing Champ

BroRilla set off the internet and Claressa Shields after she called her irritating and said she doesn’t look better than Remy Ma in videos she shared online. “Who told you, you was a bad a** b***h, you look like Serena Williams. Like get the f**k out of here.

From there, BroRilla told Claressa that she didn’t think she needed to flex her relationship or constantly address the negativity online. “You are a millionaire at young age. Like, pop yo sh*t, but stop popping yo sh*t where you open yo mouth. Pop yo sh*t in silence […] cause no, it don’t look right I’m sorry.”

Claressa Sets The Record Straight On Princess’ Instagram Block

BroRilla isn’t the only person Claressa is speaking on. She also addressed having Crime Mob rapper Princess blocked on Instagram. As TSR previously reported, Princess exposed a DM where she shot her shot at Claressa and asked if she could walk her out for a fight. Claressa then hit her with a simple “No,” and moments later, Princess noticed the boxer had blocked her.

During a recent interview, Shields cleared the air and said she has no beef with Princess. She said she probably blocked her because she must’ve said something about her. “I don’t even know that lady. I have nothing against her, I don’t know her. If she got blocked it’s probably because she said something.”

Shields also clarified that she didn’t block Princess because she dislikes ‘Knuck If You Buck.’ She said the song is a club anthem and hopes Princess would still come to her fight.

“It wasn’t cause like I don’t like the song. We all love knuck if you buck […] that’s an anthem If you want to fight in the club play that. But, it’s nothing against her, hopefully she still comes to the fight if she’s not too offended.”

Princess appeared to peep Claressa’s comments and chimed in, saying she just wants everybody to let Claressa focus on her big boxing match. “Yall go stream #knuck on all platforms… and yall let that damn girl focus on the fight,” Princess wrote.

Preschool Worker Arrested After Dropping Child, Pushing Head

Texas Teacher Aide Arrested After Swinging Pre-K Student by Her Feet, Calling Her 'Ugly as Hell'

A former preschool worker in Pennsylvania was arrested for recklessly treating a child and injuring him after she allegedly dropped the crying 2-year-old boy on a mat and pushed his head into a pillow.

Erin Burke was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault following the alleged incident that took place in July at Newtown Discovery Preschool in Bucks County, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.

The investigation into Burke, 27, was launched after preschool administrators filed a ChildLine report regarding her behavior, according to court documents viewed by the outlet. The school said that Burke allegedly told an administrator about the incident, which led to the school leaders contacting authorities.

The school provided security footage to authorities, which allegedly showed Burke trying to change the crying toddler’s clothes. She then picked him up and dropped him face first on a cushioned mat, according to the outlet.

Burke then allegedly pushed the boy’s head into a pillow and pulled him by his ankles so that she could finish aggressively dressing him.

After Burke reported the incident, the preschool removed her from the school and administration notified the child’s family and authorities. She was later terminated from the preschool.

Police later interviewed Burke at her home, and she allegedly admitted that she was rough with the child after she grew frustrated with him, per the outlet. She also acknowledged that she injured the child during the altercation.

Following the incident, Newtown Discovery Preschool said that Burke’s alleged conduct was “a serious and unacceptable violation of our standards of care, professional conduct, and the expectations we have for anyone entrusted with the safety of a child.”

“We are deeply saddened by this situation and recognize the impact it has on the child, their family and on our school community,” the preschool continued in a statement, according to FOX 29. “We know incidents involving the well-being of a child affect our families, our educators, and everyone who places their trust in our school.”

Burke’s attorney, Louis R. Busico, denied that his client intentionally or recklessly harmed the child, and he also pointed out that she reported the incident herself.

“She in no way, shape or form would ever intentionally or even recklessly put a child in harm’s way,” Busico told WPVI in a statement.

Following her arrest, Burke was released on unsecured bail. She is next scheduled to appear in court in September.

Jennifer Esposito Recalls Excruciating Psych Ward Stay Amid Health Problems Pleading for My Sanity Blue Bloods

Jennifer Esposito is opening up about her traumatic health journey — including her stay in a psych ward — after being considered “crazy” amid her quest for a diagnosis in her mid-20s.

“I will say it was seven of the most excruciating hours of my entire life, because I was yet again pleading for my sanity,” Esposito, 53, recalled of her brief psych ward stay during the Wednesday, August 12, episode of the “Heal Squad x Maria Menounos” podcast.

Esposito, who experienced health issues since childhood, explained that she was hospitalized about a month or two after finally being diagnosed with celiac disease. (Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that triggers an abnormal reaction from your immune system when you eat gluten, according to Cleveland Clinic.)

While the Blue Bloods alum said she was happy to finally have answers about her health, she wasn’t instantly better.

Esposito explained that she cut out gluten following her diagnosis and also realized she was vitamin D deficient — but the troubles got worse before they got better.

“When I stopped the gluten and I went through this detox, I couldn’t even tell you,” she shared. “They had me on four Klonopin a day, and I was still a trembling mess.”

The Mistresses actress recalled, “I was literally sleeping in my kitchen, because it was the only place that didn’t have a window, because the stimulus from the light would make me tremble and shake, like, I couldn’t talk. It was horrendous.”

At that time, Esposito was seeing a specialist in New York who was studying her severe case of celiac.

Esposito recalled telling the specialist on one particular day, “You got to keep me here because I’m jumping out of my skin. I’m going to jump out the window.”

She expressed worries about her physical and mental state while trying to navigate celiac and the other issues that had popped up as a result of the illness. Esposito said she told the doctor she wanted him to perform tests to combat her being “vitamin deprived,” and he made her think he was going to do just that.

When the doctor sent her to another area of the hospital, Esposito said she didn’t think much of it and went downstairs to check in as “Betty Franklin,” an alias made up of her dogs’ names to keep her anonymous.

“Within a half an hour, I was wheeled upstairs to the psych ward,” Esposito said, claiming her physical symptoms were once again being overlooked and she was being classified as mentally unstable.

The former NCIS star explained to host Maria Menounos that her father was there when she checked in, and he luckily didn’t leave her alone.

“If my father wasn’t there and I didn’t literally look at him with the look of death … I was like, ‘If you leave me here, I’m dying, because I’m going to fight these people,’” Esposito said.

She noted, “You can’t put someone who is having a severe panic disorder in a locked space. And you’re still telling me this is my mind.”

Esposito realized, “It was because I said I was going to jump out the window and they thought I was going to harm myself.”

Once she was admitted to the psych ward, Esposito was faced with a “pompous man” who allegedly called her “really hostile.”

She remembered telling herself to “calm down” because she wasn’t being heard by the physicians, who suggested she “just stay” and eat a lunch filled with gluten, which she couldn’t have with her illness.

“He had no concept of celiac disease,” Esposito said. “I remember thinking, ‘Keep it together.’”

At one point, Esposito said the doctor asked her father in front of her, “If she gets out of hand, can we restrain her?”

After seeing some of the other patients, Esposito knew that she had to get out of there.

“I connected with this man and he was gone. He was looking at me like he wanted to say something,” she recalled. “And I thought, ‘That will be me if you leave me here.’ They are so quick to put a label of ‘crazy.’”

Esposito did leave under her father’s supervision that same day. She went home to her apartment and vowed to start fighting for herself and others who were being overlooked by the healthcare system.

Esposito later wrote a book about her health ups and downs and how she has managed living with celiac disease — which she wasn’t diagnosed with until she was acting on Samantha Who? alongside Christina Applegate from 2007 to 2009.

“I cannot tell you how ill I was, from the time I was a child. … It went in waves,” she said on the podcast. “The physical symptoms, stomach issues, hair falling out, nails falling off. But then the panic disorder. I was agoraphobic for a year. I didn’t leave my parents’ home.”

Esposito said her parents brought her to a psychologist. She was put on “every medication” and was even advised to do shock treatment because she “wasn’t responding” to treatment.

She was in her 20s when she had a dream to “check your vitamins,” which is when things started to click — but only after she got really sick on set.

“I was actually on Samantha Who? when really things started to collapse,” Esposito explained. “I had hair falling out, nails falling off. Like, breaking midway.”

She remembered having a tooth fall out of her mouth “literally in the middle of a scene” and being “mortified.”

“I had been so ill that I just went hysterical. Like, somebody has to help me,” Esposito continued. “Not to mention the amount of medication they had me on. Because I had recurring sinus infections. They had me on steroid after steroid after steroid.”

Esposito then went to another doctor, who initially thought it could be in her head — even with all of the physical symptoms she outlined.

When this doctor ran blood tests, however, she realized Esposito had celiac. The doctor called her one day and said, “Not only do you have celiac disease, but you have the worst case I’ve ever seen.”

“People were obsessed with the bagels, millions and millions of views. People were obsessed with the supermodel snacks. So I was going to do that,” the Bravolebrity told Us. “The cheesecake was a new idea I had, and I was going to do that with multiple partners because I had a distribution channel in the fall for direct-to-consumer.”

What started off as a small idea ended up turning into a full on business venture.

Bold and the Beautiful: Dylan Stabs Forresters in Back – Exposes Electra’s Secret to Logan

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful: Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) - Electra Forester (Laneya Grace)

Bold and the Beautiful delivers a new plan being cooked up to take the Forrester versus Spencer war to new heights, there’s a chance for Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) to prove her loyalty to Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) and his whole family.

If Dylan blabs about Electra Forester (Laneya Grace)’s new youth line, that would be so huge. We’re going to talk about how Dylan might change Katie Logan’s (Heather Tom) mind about her and erase her suspicions.

Bold and the Beautiful: Forrester Creations Declining

Once Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) are back to LA, that’s when things are going to start really shifting. So, Brooke and Ridge were stunned to find out they lost a long-term client in Monaco. Plus, he told Brooke and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) both that their sales numbers aren’t great.

And the client who dumped them flat out said the issue was Logan. So, Ridge will be primed to hear this pitch from R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti). And he is going to tell Steffy and Brooke that Electra should be the new face of Forrester Creations youth line with Zende and R.J. as the designers. So, it’s youth all around.

Forester is already desperate for a new line. They really need the sales. And of course, they are all enraged at Katie and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). So, this is a win-win with a side of revenge that they’re going to enjoy.

And since Dylan is still working at Forrester. But is head over heels in love with Will Spencer, she is in the perfect position to hear about this new development that could affect House of Logan. And I fully expect that Dylan would give Will a heads up, even though it would make the Forresters real mad.

Electra Gets a Taste of Her Own Medicine on B&B

Consider this. Electra said Will lied and betrayed her by not giving her the heads up that Hope was at Logan and Katie was launching a jewelry line. And we know that Electra would have told the Forresters if Will had told her because she always picks loyalty to others over loyalty to Will.

So, using Electra’s sideways logic, Dylan should definitely tell Will. Otherwise, it would be a betrayal, right? I’m guessing the Forresters may want to blindside Hope and Katie and Bill with this new youth line. And Ridge and Steffy might plot to try and time the launch to do maximum damage to Logan. But if Dylan tells Will, that’s a game changer.

We just saw Electra modeling R.J.’s latest dress that she was the inspiration for and he pitched the youth line concept to Electra and of course she was excited and then R.J. gave Ridge a heads up that he’s got this big idea and so he and Brooke and Steffy are all eager to hear it.

I expect Zende will be totally on board because he’s been feeling a drift since Hope left and crushed his hope for the future. So Zende will be thrilled because he hates that his designs are on the shelf collecting dust and Eric Forester will love the idea of Electra getting a line and also getting some revenge on Logan.

The Bold and Beautiful: Dylan’s Loyalty Dilemma and Firing Risk

So, I expect to see R.J. make a formal pitch to Ridge and Steffy when they get back from Monte Carlo. And from there I expect word travels fast around Forresters Creations that Electra’s got this new line. So, Dylan’s obviously going to find out. And I think from there she’ll run spill to Will and maybe even also Katie.

I’ve got to say it is understandable why Dylan would rat out Electra’s line to the Spencers because Electra just lashed out at Dylan and slapped her across the face. Yeah, she broke the girl code by going after Will. But Electra was one hundred percent wrong to lay hands on her, especially at work.

Dylan might see this as the perfect opportunity to get on Katie’s good side because Dylan kept telling Katie how much she respects the Spencers. But she was real hard on Dylan. And Katie even talked up Electra as being so poised and basically said she was better than Dylan.

But let’s be real, I don’t know what Katie’s thinking because Electra treated Will like garbage. Electra was never loyal to him. Never had faith in Will. She dumped him many times, never had his back. Plus, Electra said he lied and betrayed her for keeping Logan company information private from her who works for the competition.

Perfect Opportunity for Dylan on B&B

So, I think this would actually be a great move for Dylan. If she basically betrays the Forresters and gives the info to Will, Katie, and Bill, then Dylan may think she’ll win Katie over and impress Will’s family. However, I don’t think Katie will change her tune. Not at first. She may actually judge Dylan for blabbing Forrester business.

However, Bill Spencer, he will be thrilled about it because giving them the heads up means Katie and Hope can strategize because they know this new youth line launch is coming and then House of Logan won’t be blindsided. And you know, Ridge and Steffy are probably going to plot a blindside for revenge.

Of course, Electra will be furious at Dylan for telling the Logan/Spencer people about her new line. And of course, R.J. They will, and I’m sure he’ll push for Ridge and Steffy to fire Dylan, and I think they will, as they should, because her betraying them to Logan is definitely a fireable offense.

However, Electra won’t be fired. But she should at least be chewed out for slapping another Forrester employee, especially since Dylan works for Electra. She is Dylan’s manager. So, that’s something that Dylan could actually sue the Forresters over because getting assaulted by your boss Electra and then getting fired, that sounds actionable.

Dylan already assumes she’s on borrowed time at Forrester and will be fired anyway now that Electra knows Dylan made out with Will and that Dylan’s in love with him. Plus, she and Will make love soon. And when Electra finds out they’re moving forward, I expect more aggression.

Bold and the Beautiful: Melissa Dylan – Electra Forester

Bold and the Beautiful: Dylan Goes to Logan

For one, the Forresters firing Dylan seems inevitable. And from there, I could see Bill offering her a job even if Katie is still hating on Dylan. I think she would be much happier at Logan than she is at Forrester, especially because everybody there is so anti-Will and Dylan is totally loyal to him. And you never know, she might be a great asset to House of Logan since Dylan is an artist. So, she might be a really good resource for a new youth line over at Logan.

Hope has her line with Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone). But it’s not quite a youth line because Hope is in her mid-thirties and the characters should be only twenty-four. But they’ve aged Hope up. They’ve done a couple of SORAS on Bold and the Beautiful.

So, a younger character would be better to do the youth line at House of Logan. And they could even hustle one out and do the same thing they did with Eric’s couture line and beat them to the punch. And that would set the stage for Ridge and Steffy to lose their minds.

Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke on the Warpath

Brooke’s already angry right now that Katie’s launching a fragrance for House of Logan. So, I think Brooke is going to come back to LA even angrier and more on the Katie revenge bandwagon. And if Dylan blows up their sneaky plans, that would be another blindside.

Her giving the Katie the heads up about Electra’s new line. That could be the first step towards Dylan winning Katie over and making her realize she’s not trying to social climb or gold dig. Dylan’s a hard worker and she pays her own way and she truly wants to be with Will. So, we’ll see how it goes. But I’m sure that Ridge and Steffy are going to greenlight a youth line with Electra as the face of it.

And from there, Dylan could get a little revenge on Electra for that face slap. And then Dylan may slap back at her by spilling this new business plan to Will and Kaie. This could be a turning point for Dylan that could bring her closer to Will and all the Spencers.
