The MCU has spent years teasing mutantkind without committing to its own version of the team, while legacy X-Men characters have continued to appear throughout the Multiverse Saga. Schreier’s movie will finally have the opportunity to establish an X-Men built specifically for the MCU and begin a new chapter for characters who have been waiting years to take center stage.

With Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue, and Emma Frost already cast, Marvel has assembled a substantial first roster. Adam Driver‘s Mister Sinister also gives that team its first confirmed threat, although story details surrounding the movie remain under wraps. X-Men will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2028.
