Former Netherlands international Slegers joined Arsenal as Eidevall’s assistant in September 2023.

The pair were reunited after working together at Swedish side Rosengard, before Slegers succeeded Eidevall at the club in June 2021, going on to lead them to back-to-back titles.

Before joining Rosengard, Slegers was in charge of fellow Malmo-based club Limhamn Bunkeflo, having initially coached their under-19s, and was subsequently hired as Sweden Under-23s head coach.

Born in the small town of Someren-Eind, in the south of the Netherlands, Slegers played for local side SSE.

She spent time in the Arsenal academy when she was 17, before returning to her native Netherlands to begin her senior career with Willem II.

Slegers played for Willem from 2007 until 2011 when they folded, making her Netherlands debut against Russia in March 2009.

She was part of the Netherlands team which reached the semi-finals of Euro 2009 and would go on to make 55 appearances for her country, scoring 15 goals.

Slegers went on to play for Swedish sides Djurgardens and Linkoping before a serious knee injury ended her career in 2018.
