Officers called to Bolton Interchange following disturbance

Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were alerted at 4.59pm today (December 18) after receiving calls about young people fighting outside the transport hub.

Three police cars and several officers attended the scene, and enquiries remain ongoing.

Police said no weapons were recovered during tonight’s incident.

This comes just months after a similar disturbance outside Bolton Interchange on October 4, when officers responded to reports of a group of youths fighting in the same area.

During that incident, a 17-year-old boy was arrested after police found him in possession of a 42cm machete.

Officers at the time also spoke with several other young people who were present and dispersed the group.

Greater Manchester Police said further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
