Donald Trump Finds A Creative Way To Tear Into His Predecessors’ Legacy
Donald Trump has taken aim at his predecessors by setting up a new, brutal, walk of fame within the White House.
The US president has installed a series of portraits of former presidents in the historic building, accompanied by large gold frames – and complete with descriptive plaques.
Only Joe Biden is the exception, as an image of an autopen replaces his portrait.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters: “The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each president and the legacy they left behind.
“As a student of history, many were written directly by the president himself.”
A brief introductory sign explains the display was “conceived, built and dedicated by the President Donald J Trump as a tribute to past Presidents, good, bad and somewhere in the middle.”
With capitalised prose very similar to the US President’s verbose posts on social media, the embossed signs echo some of Trump’s personal insults for his rivals.
Biden’s plaque reads: “Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American History.”
It then repeats Trump’s false allegations about the 2020 election, saying: “Taking office as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States, Biden oversaw a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction.
“His policies caused the highest Inflation ever recorded, leading the US Dollar to lose more than 20% of its value in 4 years.”
The plaque went on to criticise Biden for “abolishing the Southern Border” and let 21 million people into the country and calling “his Afghanistan Disaster” among “the most humiliating events in American History”.
It adds: “Seeing Biden’s devastating weakness, Russia invaded Ukraine, and Hamas terrorist launched the heinous October 7th attack on Israel.”
Meanwhile, former president Barack Obama is described as a “community organiser, one term Senator from Illinois, and one of the most divisive political figures in American History.”
The plaque also “attacks his stagnant economy, the terrible Iran Nuclear Deal, and signed the one-sided Paris Climate Accords, both of which were later terminated by President Donald J Trump.”
Bill Clinton was also slammed, albeit more subtly. His sign concludes: “In 2016, President Clinton’s wife, Hillary, lost the Presidency to President Donald J. Trump!”
Meanwhile, Republican president George W Bush’s plaque claims he “started wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, both of which should not have happened”.
Ronald Reagan is remembered for being a “fan” of Trump’s long before the current president ran for office.
Trump also has two separate portraits in the display, one to represent each of his presidencies.
His latest plaque reads: “THE BEST IS YET TO COME.”
