Former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon has declared he is “not backing down” in his ongoing feud with Elon Musk, just hours before the incoming US President officially begins his second term.
Speaking to GB News, the ex-White House strategist maintained his confrontational stance against the Tesla CEO, who is set to attend tomorrow’s inauguration.
Bannon’s defiant stance follows weeks of escalating tensions between the former Trump aide and Musk, who has spent nearly a quarter of a billion dollars supporting Trump’s successful election campaign.
The conflict between Bannon and Musk centres on H-1B visas, which allow US companies to employ skilled foreign workers.

Speaking to GB News, Bannon explained: “My specific beef comes from two incidents, of what happened about the H1-B visas.
“But after we beat him in that debate, and he kind of said, Ill fight you on every hill, F you in the face, I will fight everywhere.”
He added: “After I proved that he didn’t know the facts and that these things are just a scam to bring in cheap labour, foreign labour, against American citizens, he immediately pivoted… he wanted to change the conversation and to turn on Nigel.”
Bannon’s criticism extended to Musk’s broader political influence, particularly regarding European politics.

He acknowledged Musk’s significant financial power, noting that “with his money and his social media platform, they’re the two tactical nuclear weapons of modern politics”.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
He warned that “there’s not a centrist government in Europe that would withstand the onslaught if he went in”.
Offering defence of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, Bannon hit back at Musk’s attacks and claimed he has “done so much” for British politics.
Bannon said: “Nigel has done so much work and so much in the trenches, I just said this is not going to happen, right?”
He also highlighted the unprecedented scale of Musk’s support for Trump, stating that “he wrote a $250million cheque for President Trump in five months”, which has “never been done in American history”.

Despite the tensions, Bannon suggested a potential reconciliation: “I think once I convince him to be a populist nationalist and not a techno-feudalist globalist, we’ll be fine.”
Earlier this month, Bannon called for a “100 percent moratorium” on all immigration, directly challenging Musk’s support for the visa programme.
He issued a stark warning to the Tesla CEO, suggesting he would “rip your face off” unless he stopped advocating for more visas.
He added: “Don’t come up and go to the pulpit in your first week here and start lecturing people about the way things are going to be.”
