Anthony Joshua takes on Jake Paul tonight in a controversial heavyweight fight which could end very badly indeed for the YouTube sensation

Anthony Joshua makes a surprise return to the ring tonight against Jake Paul.

The former two-time heavyweight world champion has not fought since he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois 15 months ago. Joshua lost out on the chance to become a three-time ruler of boxing’s premier division and has taken a year out to regroup. He returns tonight against YouTuber Paul in a fight nobody saw coming – and few people want to see.

Quotes corner

Anthony Joshua : “I want them (fans) to pray for me, I want them to pray for my opponent because he’s going to need it. I’m going to outclass this kid, I’m just going to outclass him. I’m a serious fighter, that’s the difference, I’m a serious, serious fighter and you’re going to get f***ed up, it is what it is.”

Jake Paul: “I smell fear. I see something in his eyes, I truly do. The pressure is on him, I’m fighting free, I’ve already won. This is a lose-lose situation for him, I’ve got him in a corner right where I want him. I’m here to show the world what’s possible, show kids what’s possible with self-belief. That’s what this whole fight is about. I’m here to change the sport, inspire the next generation of athletes to chase their goals and do the unthinkable.”
