A new flagship workspace at The £107m Forum development in Gloucester city centre is preparing to open its doors following a fit-out. Patch Gloucester is a 17,000 sq ft space that will open on January 5 as a new destination for work, business and community.

The site will be Patch’s largest in the UK and will provide private offices, co-working studios, dedicated desks, members’ lounges, and publicly bookable meeting rooms and event spaces.

The fit-out was delivered by Gloucester-based third-generation family business Cobus Spaces, working alongside a team of local subcontractors.

Freddie Fforde, founder of Patch, said: “We’re proud to have worked closely with Cobus Spaces – they’re renowned for delivering exceptional workplaces, and their commitment to sustainability fits perfectly with Patch.

“With the fit-out complete and final preparations now underway, Patch Gloucester is already starting to feel like the vibrant, community-driven hub we set out to create: flexible, inspiring, and built for modern ways of working. We look forward to welcoming members and visitors when we open in early January.”

The Forum development is led by Gloucester City Council in partnership with Reef + Partners and includes 135,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, a four-star Hotel Indigo (IHG Hotels), a 393-space car park with 41 EV charging points, residential apartments and retail units.

Peter Langly-Smith, managing director at Reef + Partners, said Patch’s new workspace would “bring real dynamism” to Gloucester.

“We look forward to seeing their doors open in January and to welcoming more inspiring businesses to The Forum in the new year,” he said.

Councillor Jeremy Hilton, leader of Gloucester City Council, added: “Having the new Patch flagship based here in Gloucester – and even better, in The Forum – is a major win for our city.

“Seeing Patch open its doors will be a fantastic start to a year in which The Forum will continue to bring new jobs and investment, revitalising our city and delivering significant benefits to the local economy.”

The Forum is expected to boost visitor numbers in Gloucester city centre and draw over a thousand individuals to King’s Quarter, while generating opportunities for businesses in the area.

But the initiative, which is approaching completion, has encountered numerous obstacles throughout its construction phase. In October, it was revealed that delays to The Forum had cost taxpayers some £450,000.
