100 Most Valuable Sports Teams in the World
Summary
- The most valuable sports team in the world have been revealed.
- Football (soccer) giants Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid all feature but miss out on the top 10.
- Dallas Cowboys sit top at $12.8 billion – making them the most valuable team in sports despite Superbowl drought.
For the majority of people, sport is all about the glory of success. Whether it’s a game-winning touchdown, a buzzer-beating three-point shot or a wondergoal to win a big football match, it’s those moments and the passion they produce that matters the most. That’s not necessarily the case for the owners of the world’s biggest sports teams, though.
Sure, winning is nice and nobody would be opposed to success in the game, but they largely see owning a sports franchise as a business and, as such, it’s all about making as much money as possible. In recent years, the amount of money spent across the biggest sports in the world has risen drastically. Subsequently, so has the value of the most notable teams on the planet.
But how do the biggest National Football League (NFL) franchises compare to Europe’s most popular football clubs? Well, thanks to figures from Sportico, we now know. They’ve compiled a list, revealing the 100 most valuable sports teams in the world, and we’re here to share the results with you.
World’s Most Valuable Teams: 100-91
Including: Aston Martin, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Kings
The majority of the bottom 10 included in the 100 most valuable teams in the world come from two of the United States’ less popular marquee sports. Ice hockey and baseball aren’t quite on the same level as American football and basketball, so, by default, the majority of NFL and MLB teams aren’t worth as much as the NFL or NBA franchises.
As a result, nine of the bottom 10 valuable sides on this list are from either of the two leagues, including the likes of the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and Edmonton Oilers. The only team placed in the top 10 from outside the NHL or MLB is Formula 1’s Aston Martin, the first of many racing teams on this list.
The values of teams from 100th to 91st range from Aston Martin’s value of $2.2 billion to MLB team Los Angeles Angels, who are valued at $3.39 billion.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 90-81
Including: McLaren, Montreal Canadiens, New York Mets
Half of the next 10 are also sides from either the NHL or MLB. Teams such as the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens and New York Mets are all up, with the three franchises worth $2.67 billion, $2.93 billion and $3.11 billion, respectively. There are some unorthodox additions here, though, with the F1 franchise of McClaren also ranked between 90 and 81.
Compared to 100th-ranked Aston Martin, McClaren boasts a value of $2.65 billion, but that could be set to rise following Lando Norris winning the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship in 2025. Rounding off this category are the likes of the New York Rangers, owned by Madison Square Garden Sports and the Charlotte Hornets, who are valued at $3.39 billion.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 80-71
Including: Orlando Magic, Red Bull Racing & Portland Trail Blazers
The next 10 entries on the list are largely dominated by NBA franchises with five teams present – including the Detroit Pistons, the Orlando Magic and Portland Trail Blazers, with the teams being valued at $3.45 billion, $3.46 billion and $3.6 billion, respectively.
There aren’t just NBA teams included here, though, with a couple of MLB franchises also sitting in the top part of this section. The Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros both scrape into the top 80, at 80th and 79th. The former are worth $3.39 billion, while the latter are valued at $3.42 billion.
Premier League outfit Chelsea are also entering the mix now – and the London club are the first football team to be included. Owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital since 2022, they enjoyed a fantastic season in 2024/25 by winning the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup, thus putting their value around the $3.57 billion mark.
Slap bang in the middle of this section of the list is another F1 franchise, though. Red Bull, which is currently valued at $2.42 billion with a yearly revenue of a healthy $555 million.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 70-61
Including: Tottenham Hotspur, Milwaukee Bucks & Denver Nuggets
Another section of the list almost completely dominated by NBA franchises. Seven of the 10 entries here come from the league, but kicking things off in 70 is the second English football club to make the rankings – and that’s Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are largely considered the smallest of the Premier League’s big six clubs, so it’s rather fitting they’re the first club to crop up here, valued at $3.68 billion.
In terms of those from the NBA, there are a couple of big teams here, with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Denver Nuggets – who are also owned by Arsenal owners Stan Kroenke, all ranked in this section, with values of $3.91 billion, $3.95 billion and $4.06 billion, respectively. George Russell’s Mercedes are ranked 65th with a value of $3.94 billion.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 60-51
Including: Phoenix Suns, Arsenal & Ferrari
One of the biggest football clubs to never win the Champions League enters the mix now, with the Premier League’s Arsenal occupying a spot in this section of the list. They’re joined by an array of different teams, though, with franchises from basketball, baseball and F1 all also included between 60 and 51.
Interestingly, Arsenal ($4.49 billion) are valued higher than Paris Saint-Germain ($4.26 billion), despite the latter’s more recent success over the last two decades, including the Champions League last season. PSG have just about scraped into this category with the Sacramento Kings (NBA) and San Francisco Giants (MLB) the only teams below them.
Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari, too, round off the 60th-51st category with a total value of $4.78 billion and as long as the title-winning Englishman is on their books, they are bound to continue increasing their yearly revenue – which currently sits at a figure of $515 million.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 50-41
Including: Manchester City, Chicago Bulls, Arizona Cardinals
Now, we are entering the top half of this list – and it’s a category comprised of teams from the NBA, football and NFL. Manchester City and Liverpool, the two previous teams to win England’s top flight, boast a respective value of $5.16 billion and $5.59 billion. They’ve dominated the Premier League for many a year now, and it’s no surprise to see them in such healthy financial positions.
Bayern Munich, the perennial winners of the Bundesliga, are also involved. The Jacksonville Jaguars, owned by Fulham owner Shad Khan, have one of the highest values in this section, worth $5.57 billion, while several notable NBA teams are also included here – such as the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.
Chicago Bulls haven’t tasted significant success in quite some time but became household names during Michael Jordan’s tenure with them, and they’re still reaping those rewards to this day. The Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals are among those flying the NFL flag high.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 40-31
Including: Los Angeles Clippers, Barcelona & Baltimore Ravens
The Los Angeles Clippers kick off this section of the list. Largely been better than their local rivals, but due to the sheer popularity of the Los Angeles Lakers, they still find themselves worth far less right now. Owned by Steve Ballmer, the NBA team are currently worth an eye-catching $5.68 billion. Just ahead of them are the Chicago Clubs ($5.69 billion).
Another section, another football team. Barcelona may not be as financially pleasing as they once were when Lionel Messi broke through and became a superstar, but they are still valued at $5.71 billion. Five NFL teams follow the Spanish football club – the Indianapolis Colts, the Carolina Panthers, the Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens.
Just the second team on this list so far to break the $6 billion barrier, the globally-known Boston Red Sox ($6.03 billion) round off the category as one of two MLB teams in this section.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 30-21
Including: Manchester United, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans
Another interesting parallel here is that you have one of the most successful English football teams of all time and, arguably, the most successful football team of all time ranked closely together. Manchester United and Real Madrid have had unprecedented success in the beautiful game over the years, and are worth $6.09 billion and $6.53 billion, respectively.
There are, however, eight sides that separate them, and they all come from the NFL. The Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers – owned by the Rooney family – are also worth above the $6 billion mark but have all had varying levels of success over the years.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers share the same owners as the aforementioned United: the Glazer family. The NFL team are currently above the football club in terms of their total value, which stands at $6.47 billion, and so it’s safe to say there’s a common reason why the American family are involved with both sporting conglomerates.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 20-11
Including: Houston Texas, Denver Broncos & Los Angeles Dodgers
We’re into the top 20 now, and it’s time to start talking about some of the biggest sporting franchises on the planet. In 20th are NFL team, the Denver Broncos, and they are followed by the Seattle Seahawks ($6.59 billion) and the Atlanta Falcons ($7.05 billion), who are the first team to hit the next milestone of being worth above $7 billion.
Janice McNair-owned Houston Texans are next up in 17th, with the Washington Commanders, who boast a yearly revenue of $658 million, also in the mix.
After MLB side the Los Angeles Dodgers ($7.73 billion) at 14th, the rest of the teams between 20 and 11 are from the NFL. The likes of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chicago Bears are all here, with values of $7.9 billion and $7.45 billion, respectively.
Between the rankings of 20th and 11th, the only NBA team present at the Los Angeles Lakers. The highest value in this group is the New York Jets, worth $8.11 billion – but now it’s time to crack into the top 10 most valuable teams in the world.

World’s Most Valuable Teams: 10-1
Including: Miami Dolphins, New York Yankees & Dallas Cowboys
From 10-4, the list is again primarily dominated by NFL teams, truly signalling the league’s dominance across the globe. The Miami Dolphins, the San Francisco 49ers, the New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants are all ranked in the top 10, with values of $8.25, $8.6 billion, $8.76 billion, $10.43 billion and $10.25 billion, respectively.
The dominance stops there, though, and next, we have the New York Yankees, the highest-valued baseball team in the world. The MLB side is worth $8.39 billion, an incredible figure. The New York Knicks are just behind them, though, with the NBA franchise worth $8.3 billion – and considering their popularity, you’d be forgiven for thinking they’d be worth more than any other NBA franchise, but you’d be mistaken.
In the top three are a NFL duo, who have cracked the $10 billion milestone in terms of their total value. They are the New York Giants ($10.25 billion) and Los Angeles Rams ($10.43 billion).
The most valuable team in all of sports is the Dallas Cowboys. Despite not winning the Super Bowl in almost 30 years, there’s no one even close to reaching the insane amount that the NFL team is worth. In the most recent years, they brought in a revenue of over $1 billion – an absurd figure, but one that puts them far beyond any other franchise in sport.
