Fabregas claims ‘Results matter, but Como are growing fast with clear identity’

Cesc Fabregas believes Como’s progress goes far beyond individual results, pointing to a clear project that has gathered pace over the past two years.
Speaking to Sky Sport during an open training session at the Stadio Sinigaglia, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Como coach stressed that while results remain fundamental in football, they are only part of a broader process taking shape at the club.
“Results matter enormously, they’re crucial,” Fabregas explained. “But at Como there’s real growth behind the scenes, with a pathway that started two years ago and is moving very quickly.”
Fabregas highlighted stability as a key factor in that development, suggesting Como’s environment allows for long-term thinking rather than reactive decision-making. “There’s more patience and stability here compared to other clubs,” he said. “That gives you the time to analyse situations properly and make more considered decisions.”
The former Spain international was keen to underline Como’s ambitions despite their relatively recent return to the top flight. “We are a strong Serie A club that wants to fight against anyone,” Fabregas insisted, framing last season as an emotional milestone for the project. “There have been many intense moments here, promotion back to Serie A, the desire to compete with everyone.”
One match, in particular, stood out. “The victory against Napoli last season was very important for us,” he added, describing it as a symbolic step in Como’s belief that they belong at this level.
Fabregas’ words reflect a club focused on consolidation rather than shortcuts, with growth built on structure, patience and a clear footballing identity.
