Driver chased and robbed on A19 near Kirklevington
The car was reversed into on the A-road, Cleveland Police said, after being followed by two cars before the driver fled on foot. Cash was later discovered missing from inside
It happened on the A19 towards Kirklevington, shortly after 7pm on Wednesday (December 17).
The black Audi A3 was first on the A174 at the Perry Avenue roundabout when the driver of a white BMW signalled for it stop, police said.
A silver Audi Q7 then pulled in front of the the Audi and a man got out, attempting to hit the driver’s window.
The driver of the A3 managed to escape onto the A19, but was followed by both vehicles, and the silver Audi reportedly pulled in front of the car and reversed into it several times.
The driver then fled, leaving behind his car with a quantity of cash inside.
The money was later discovered stolen.
A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: “Police are investigating the circumstances and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage to come forward.”
