Trim Says She Ran Into A Female Rapper At Atlanta Airport
During a recent live, Trim had a few words for a certain female rapper in Atlanta. In a clip circulating online, Trim called out “rap h***” before claiming she ran into a female rapper at an Atlanta airport and nothing happened. Trim emphasized that she was “untouched” during the alleged encounter.
“Stop thinking I’m beefing with these h****, cause when they see me they don’t do nothing,” Trim said.
Trim also pushed back on speculation surrounding her relationships with other female rappers, claiming that some of the women people believe she is beefing with are actually in her DMs, sending her their music. According to Trim, the person involves people fans “least expect.” She added, “No shade, if I was in the princess of rap, I’m not sending no b**** no songs.”
Bunna B Speaks Up After Fans Link Her to Trim’s Airport Story
Following Trim’s comments, social media users began speculating about which rapper she could have been referring to. Some pointed to Bunna B after she shared a video to her Instagram Story in which one of her eyes appeared noticeably red.
When a user on X shared a screenshot of Bunna B’s Instagram Story and wrote, “Trim got that eye LMFAOOOOOO,” Bunna B responded, “She know better.” She later followed up with a post on X that appeared to address the growing speculation.
“Y’all h*** stop playing with me today I really be trying to ignore sh** like my team be telling me but I’m a regular person,” Bunna B wrote.
The exchange continued when another user urged people to stop “playing with Bunna B.” The rapper then clarified that she was not the woman Trim allegedly encountered. “I’m not the one she seen in the airport that b**** know who she seen …,” Bunna B wrote.

Aubrey Plaza has sold the Los Angeles home she shared with her late husband, Jeff Baena, accepting substantially less than her original asking price. Plaza first listed the Spanish-style compound for $6.5 million in September 2025, approximately eight months after Baena died. However, the property remained on the market through several price reductions.
The “White Lotus” actress closed the deal on Friday for $4.375 million, according to property records obtained by the Daily Mail. Plaza and Baena purchased the Los Feliz property for $4.7 million in October 2022. That means its final sale price was $325,000 below what they paid, excluding renovations, commissions, and other transaction costs. The sale comes weeks after Plaza reportedly welcomed her first child with actor Christopher Abbott.
The actress reportedly first secured a buyer in March, but that deal fell through by mid-May. Plaza briefly removed the house from the market before relisting it for $5.29 million on May 21, according to Realtor.com. Another price cut followed in July as the asking price dropped by approximately $450,000.
Inside The Actress’ Spanish-Style Los Feliz Compound
Built in 1928, the 4,064-square-foot residence sits on a private street in the Los Feliz Oaks neighborhood. The compound contains four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and several original design elements, including stained glass windows, arched doorways, and terracotta floors. “This is more than a home … it’s a private sanctuary, brought back to life with care, style, and enduring character,” the listing stated.
It described the property as “A rare opportunity for those seeking space, seclusion, and authentic Spanish charm.” Large glass doors connect the kitchen to the backyard, allowing natural light to enter the space while creating an indoor-outdoor entertaining area.
The grounds also include a swimming pool surrounded by mature trees and multiple areas designed for outdoor dining and relaxation.
Inside, the property features bathrooms finished with custom stone and wood, a secondary bedroom connected to a sunroom and private balcony, a screening room, a wine cellar, and an integrated sound system.
The Home Had A Painful Connection To Jeff Baena’s Death
Plaza and Baena had been together since 2011 and privately married before the actress publicly referred to the filmmaker as her “darling husband” in a May 2021 Instagram post. The couple reportedly separated in September 2024.
Baena was found dead inside the Los Feliz residence on January 3, 2025, at age 47. The Los Angeles County medical examiner determined that he died by suicide. Plaza later issued a statement with Baena’s family describing his death as an “unimaginable tragedy.”
The actress remained largely private about her grief during the months that followed. She eventually discussed the experience during an August 2025 appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast.

During her conversation with Poehler, Plaza compared living with grief to standing beside a “giant ocean of awfulness.” “Sometimes I just want to dive into it, and just, like, be in it. Then sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to get away from it. But it’s always there,” Plaza said.
She also explained that she was attempting to continue with her life while acknowledging the lasting impact of the loss. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I’m OK, but it’s like a daily struggle, obviously.”
The Actress Has Reportedly Welcomed Her First Child
Plaza’s real estate sale also arrives during a major personal transition. The actress reportedly welcomed her first child with Abbott during the final week of July. Plaza was subsequently photographed carrying the newborn while supporting Abbott at his final performance in the Broadway revival of “Death of a Salesman,” according to Harper’s Bazaar.
Plaza and Abbott previously worked together on the 2020 psychological drama “Black Bear.” They reunited professionally for the Off-Broadway production of “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea,” which ran from October 2023 through January 2024.
Selling the Los Feliz residence closes a difficult chapter for Plaza while she begins another as a first-time parent.
It’s turning out to be an eventful year for director Guy Ritchie, who is enjoying the successful return of his Netflix series, The Gentlemen, and is looking forward to the return of his Paramount+ series, MobLand, in a couple of weeks. Ritchie has a theatrical feature film lined up for release in February 2027, and has already debuted one movie in theaters this year. The movie in question continued Ritchie’s unfortunate run at the box office, but at the same time proved that he can pull an audience at home. It’s currently among the most-watched films on the global Prime Video chart, while The Gentlemen rules over the Netflix leaderboard, MobLand builds steam on Paramount+, and Ritchie’s 2017 flop, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, has a resurgence on HBO Max.
The British filmmaker’s latest theatrical release was headlined by Eiza González, Henry Cavill, and Jake Gyllenhaal — each of whom he has worked with before. The movie grossed just around $23 million against a reported budget of $70 million, and was seemingly designed to catch fire only after debuting at home. That said, Ritchie needs a theatrical win after five years without a box-office hit. Cavill is in a similarly dire position, with both his previous collaborations with Ritchie — The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare — falling short of box-office expectations. Cavill was also recast as Superman and the Witcher, and was the face of Apple TV’s big-budget flop, Argylle.
It’s a Big Month for Guy Ritchie
He is now hedging his bets on the upcoming Voltron movie and the Highlander reboot, but both titles are being distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, so it’s unclear if they will be positioned as big-screen events. Cavill’s latest film with Ritchie, In the Grey, certainly seems to have found its audience on Prime Video. According to FlixPatrol, it’s currently among the streamer’s most-watched hits, behind the thriller film Fuze, the recent Gal Gadot-starrer The Runner, and the holdover hit Project Hail Mary. In the Grey follows a high-powered lawyer’s attempts to blackmail a gangster, aided by her two trusted accomplices. The movie received mixed reviews and is now sitting at a 52% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, its 82% audience score suggests solid word-of-mouth, which will serve it well at home. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day inching closer to the all-time domestic box office record after another number-one finish this weekend, the more interesting activity at the domestic box office unfolded in the lower rungs. Ridley Scott‘s first sci-fi movie in almost a decade, The Dog Stars, nearly dropped out of the top 10 in its second weekend, grossing just around $3 million. Two new releases debuted outside the top 10. Director Adam Wingard‘s action-thriller for A24, Onslaught, generated just around $2 million in its first frame, while Fall 2: Deadpoint grossed around $2.7 million. It was a similarly unfortunate weekend for another action movie, one that has had a tough run at the box office over the last couple of weeks.
The movie in question, Mutiny, passed what will likely be its final domestic box office milestone this weekend, as it prepares to take off on the PVOD market. Headlined by Jason Statham, Mutiny has overtaken the $13.8 million lifetime haul of his other 2026 release, Shelter. This has become a standard benchmark for Statham, whose recent films typically find their audience at home, with theatrical runs functioning largely as advertising. Interestingly, despite his success on PVOD and streaming, Statham has never starred in a movie released directly for home video.
‘Mutiny’ Was Embraced by Audiences Who Watched It
Directed by Jean-François Richet, Mutiny follows Statham’s character, a man falsely accused of murder, as he weeds out the real culprits aboard a ship. The movie also features Annabelle Wallis, and has received mixed reviews. It holds a 50% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, although its audience score has settled at a far higher 86%. The website’s consensus reads, “Mutiny offers up a bounty of crunchy carnage that Jason Statham serves with characteristic finesse, but convoluted plotting, and an unrelentingly grim tone weigh down this action flick’s fun factor like an anchor.” The movie suffered a setback in the days leading up to its release, when it was accidentally uploaded on Prime Video for a few hours, giving online pirates enough time to disseminate it on illegal file-sharing platforms. That said, the movie has now passed the $15 million mark domestically, against a reported budget of $40 million. YouTube star Jack Doherty is facing another legal battle after police arrested him on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 22-year-old influencer was taken into custody shortly before noon on Friday, September 4, after officers responded to a reported domestic dispute inside a residence. Police said a woman was involved in a physical confrontation with Doherty but was not injured. A source close to the controversial creator has since claimed that he was acting in self-defense.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a home in the 1400 block of Southwest 5th Court at approximately 11:56 a.m. “Upon arrival, officers identified the male involved as Jack Doherty,” the department said in a statement to the Daily Mail. “Preliminary information revealed he and a female victim got into a physical dispute inside a residence. The female victim was not injured during the incident.”
Doherty was arrested and booked into the Broward County Main Jail on one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. A mugshot released following the arrest appeared to show a cut on his cheek. However, authorities have not said when or how the apparent injury occurred.
YouTuber Ordered To Stay Away From Alleged Victim
Doherty initially remained in custody without a listed bond, but that changed when he appeared in court Saturday morning. A magistrate found probable cause and set his bond at $1,000, according to CBS News Miami. The court also ordered Doherty to have no contact with the alleged victim. He has retained a private attorney.
Police have not publicly identified the woman involved or provided a detailed account of what allegedly happened before the confrontation became physical. TMZ reported that a source close to Doherty claimed the influencer was defending himself during the incident. That account has not been confirmed by authorities.
Jack Doherty Was Previously Filmed Arguing With His Girlfriend
The arrest comes months after Ring camera footage appeared to capture Doherty having a heated argument with his girlfriend, Katalina Cartmel. In the video, which surfaced in June, a water bottle appeared to strike Doherty in the face while the couple argued outside a residence.
The circumstances leading up to that confrontation remained unclear, but the footage quickly attracted attention on social media. There is no confirmed connection between the June footage and Friday’s incident.
Influencer Faced Drug Charges In 2025
Friday’s arrest marks another run-in with law enforcement for Doherty, who was previously taken into custody in Miami Beach in November 2025. Police accused him of obstructing traffic while filming content in the middle of a roadway and refusing repeated orders to move. A search conducted during the arrest allegedly uncovered part of an orange pill believed to be a Schedule II amphetamine and suspected marijuana cigarettes.
Doherty faced charges that included possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer without violence. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center before posting a $3,500 bond.
According to court-record information reported by FOX 35 Orlando, Doherty was formally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor resisting arrest in January 2026. He was later accepted into a drug pretrial diversion program, while the marijuana possession charge was dropped.
Viral McLaren Crash Led To Kick Ban
Doherty built his enormous online following by posting pranks, stunts and provocative encounters, but his content has repeatedly generated controversy. In October 2024, the YouTuber crashed his custom McLaren 570S while livestreaming on Kick during heavy rain.
Video showed Doherty driving with one hand and looking down at his phone before losing control of the sports car. The vehicle skidded across the wet highway and struck a metal barrier, severely damaging its front end. Doherty escaped without serious injury, but his passenger, Michael David, was left bleeding from his face and required hospital treatment.
Immediately after the crash, Doherty handed David a camera and said, “Michael, here. Film on that phone too.”
Kick later banned Doherty for violating its safety guidelines.

Of all the Stephen King books, The Stand is one of the greatest. The immensity and ambition of it all has something to do with that, admittedly, though it’s also just a great story told well, focusing on the aftermath of a deadly flu outbreak that leaves less than 1% of the world’s population left standing. That aftermath involves a conflict over the future of the world, or at least what remains of it.
It was not the first post-apocalyptic story, but it is one of the best, and also – as mentioned before – one of the most epic in scale, especially if you read the uncut version published in 1990, which is about 1200 pages, versus the 800-ish pages of the original 1978 version. What follows are some compelling books that are easy to recommend to those who liked The Stand. Sure, most are here because they’re about some kind of apocalypse, or because they’re epics, or a bit of both. There shouldn’t be too many surprises here (there was an attempt not to get too abstract, or go about recommending books only a little like The Stand).

‘Swan Song’ (1987)
There’s no real ranking here, or attempt to get the relevant order based on how similar they are to The Stand, but it can be observed – and pointed out – that Swan Song is perhaps like The Stand the most, or in the most ways. There isn’t a flu here that ends the world, with Swan Song instead being about a nuclear war that breaks out and, again, kills just about everyone. But not literally everyone.
The real similarities kick in when Swan Song has a bit of a good versus evil thing, with some characters fulfilling similar roles in the story to characters in The Stand. And everyone is caught up in some kind of battle that’s about as epic in scale as things can get, with so few people left in the world. You throw in the horror and fantastical elements, and yeah, Swan Song is very The Stand-ish. It’s got enough differences to make it entertaining and sometimes surprising, but it needed more differences if it ever wanted to have a chance at not living in The Stand’s shadow, to be perfectly blunt.

‘World War Z’ (2013)
World War Z was published at a time when zombie media was kind of everywhere, and then it got a bit more everywhere a few years later, with the 2010s being a probably more fruitful decade for the sub-genre than the already fairly packed 2000s. So, it was the right time for a book that had aspirations of being potentially the “ultimate zombie book,” trying to tackle how an outbreak on a worldwide scale (hence the word “World” being in the title) might go down.
Stephen King had a go at writing a zombie story of sorts that happened to be published the same year as World War Z: Cell.
If something similar ever happened for real, then it would be possible to say that World War Z was definitely realistic. For now, and hopefully forever, it can only be said that the events covered here would probably go down something like this, if a zombie outbreak ever really happened. Also, Stephen King had a go at writing a zombie story of sorts that happened to be published the same year as World War Z: Cell (World War Z was much better).

‘Under the Dome’ (2009)
Remember that bit at the end of the introduction about unsurprising books being included here? Look, it’s another one by Stephen King! It’s Under the Dome, and though it’s not as long as the uncut version of The Stand, it is one of King’s longest single books. The biggest difference is that it takes place over a much shorter span of time than The Stand, and the second-biggest difference (or maybe it’s equally big, whatever) is that Under the Dome also has a much more limited setting.
There’s just the one small town, and the buildings/people in it get trapped under a dome, out of nowhere. Things fall apart fast, partly because lots of things were already unstable before the dome came down. There are characters on the other side of the dome, looking in and trying to help, but most of the action takes place inside. It feels like a mini-post-apocalyptic story, because for most of the characters, their world gets very small, and then that small world is pushed to a point where, in many ways, it feels like it’s ending.

‘On the Beach’ (1957)
Published almost two decades before The Stand, On the Beach is an admittedly quite different sort of post-apocalyptic novel. It lacks the fantasy and/or sci-fi and/or supernatural elements that pop up in most of the examples here, with On the Beach instead being a novel about a few people who’ve survived a nuclear war coming to terms with the fact that their survival won’t last for long, since the radiation from the war is spreading some years later.
Australia, in all its isolation, is where On the Beach takes place, and it’s all very sobering to think about how a nuclear war, on a grand enough scale, would eventually impact everyone and very likely cause planet-wide extinction. It’s like a more downbeat and grounded Swan Song, in that regard, and definitely not a fun read, but that’s okay, because it’s not trying to be that, and it does stand overall as an important read.

‘King Sorrow’ (2025)
King Sorrow was written by Joe Hill, who’s one of Stephen King’s sons, and his work does stand alone from his father’s, but scratches the same itch, to some extent. If you’ve got a parent who writes like Stephen King, though, and you’re also interested in writing, then you’re probably going to be learning from the best, you know? Everyone else has to settle for Stephen King’s non-fiction book On Writing, though that’s not a terrible substitute, if you’re after writing advice and/or inspiration.
As for the genre of King Sorrow, it’s not post-apocalyptic like most of the books being mentioned here, but it is an epic that blends together fantasy, horror, and some other genres into one surprisingly coherent whole. It’s probably Hill’s most impressive book so far, and a fairly easy one to recommend to anyone who’s already a fan of Hill’s father’s work.

‘The Road’ (2006)
While The Road is probably the most approachable book Cormac McCarthy ever wrote, it’s still far from an easy read, and it’s more in line with On the Beach than The Stand. But if On the Beach got a mention here, The Road can get one, too. You just need to make sure you go into it knowing that it’s a Cormac McCarthy book, rather than something that’s willing to entertain (or even have a little fun) with the idea of the world ending.
The Road is about a father and his son just trying to survive, and what caused the devastation they’re living/enduring in isn’t really the point, and it’s not even specified. It’s all about survival and holding onto what little hope or meaning in life remains, and the sense of desperation with surviving continually feels visceral and uncompromising (again, it’s the McCarthy way).

‘The Long Walk’ (1979)
Sneaking a Richard Bachman novel on here, but it’s a pseudonym of King’s, so The Long Walk is another King book. It’s more dystopian than post-apocalyptic, but what goes down here does feel like it’s happening in a world that’s a bit closer to “over” than a fair few dystopian books. Some kind of war has drastically changed the U.S., in the alternate timeline here, and part of that has to do with the titular competition.
Teenage boys are made to walk for, you know, a very long time. Actually, for as long as they can, before collapsing in exhaustion, and those who collapse and thereby drop out are executed, making it about as high-stakes as a competition can get. There is also a lot of walking in The Stand, for what it’s worth, but The Stand and The Long Walk find slightly different ways to be horrifying. Also, The Long Walk is probably slightly more horrifying, not to mention a more grueling read, even if it’s a lot shorter than The Stand.

‘Lucifer’s Hammer’ (1977)
Lucifer’s Hammer is partly about the world dealing with an approaching comet, and then partly about life after the comet hits. It’s divided into two halves, albeit not precisely, in that kind of way, and there’s a real focus on scientific accuracy in the first half or so of the story… and still a little in the part of Lucifer’s Hammer that seeks to be more of a post-apocalyptic thing, too.
It makes for a compelling and largely consistent reading experience, and then Lucifer’s Hammer also feels sufficiently epic in scope, but without going on for too long (not that The Stand is too long necessarily, but the number of pages there might seem somewhat intimidating). Lucifer’s Hammer is fairly underrated, too. Not perfect or anything, but it gets the job done on a fair few fronts.
With Amazon’s Masters of the Universe and Warner Bros.’ Supergirl hogging the limelight when it comes to the summer’s biggest box-office flops, let’s not forget that the Star Wars franchise suffered its biggest setback in decades as well. The series’ biggest underperformer, The Mandalorian and Grogu, received a mixed critical response and ended its theatrical run with $345 million worldwide against a reported budget of $165 million. This was lower than the franchise’s previous record low of $393 million worldwide, scored by Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018. Among the many theories that were posited about The Mandalorian and Grogu‘s underperformance was that audiences viewed it as nothing more than a streaming project, and not the big-screen event that Disney wanted it to be. And now, the movie is playing on home turf, following its debut on Disney+.
Directed by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian and Grogu served as a continuation of The Mandalorian, which had aired three seasons on Disney+. But with the show’s narrative having been wrapped in a nice little bow, there was little more for the movie to do other than present audiences with the further adventures of the two characters. The Mandalorian and Grogu also featured precious little of star Pedro Pascal, and his limited presence was reinforced by the prominent crediting of his doubles, Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder. The movie is now sitting at a 60% critics’ score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Bountiful in action but threadbare in narrative thrust with its episodic structure, this Star Wars is more of a skirmish that coasts on the charm of its central dynamic duo.”
The Star Wars Franchise Isn’t Slowing Down Despite the Setback
The movie’s 86% audience score, however, seems to be working in its favor as it launches into its streaming run. According to FlixPatrol, The Mandalorian and Grogu immediately jumped to the top of the global Disney+ viewership rankings this week, overtaking holdover hits such as The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Avengers: Endgame. The Star Wars franchise will continue with another non-Skywalker Saga adventure, Star Wars: Starfighter, next year. Directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, the movie will be released in theaters on May 28, 2027. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
