   I'd personally forego any number crunching to determine what item should get a higher or lower chance to be obtained. An equal, unbiased chance at each item is how I'd do it. Example; if there's 10 possible items, each of them would have an equal chance of being given, which for 10 items would be a 10% chance for each. You could get a few diamonds, or a highly enchanted Netherrite chestplate, the chances would be equal under any system I had a say in. Alongside, I'd do whatever in my ability to prevent the exchange of real cash for keys. I, personally, would only ever sell, for real-world cash, nickname changes, and maybe a kit that contained items that can be obtained without a cent being spent. Way back in 1012 I was against the idea of people being able to pay for advantages, and had the unfortunate situation of working on a few servers that implemented such things. None of them got to a point where I'd say they were outright pay to win, though there was certainly paid advantages over others. Though I did manage to get most of them to provide all paid items to players who didn't spend a cent, but it was made difficult — most of the time it was multiple weeks of time to grind their way to the paid tier things. I still hold that anything a paid player gets, an unpaying player should be capable of getting naturally, outside of any special events or grinding for months to achieve it. If a "thank you" to a paid donator is a set of diamond tools with Efficiency 10, I'd make it my mission that Efficiency 10 is achievable without spending a cent. I was already trying to abide by Mojang's anti pay-to-win rule changes before they made the changes.

   I love gambling, but I'm an adult, and I prefer to keep that stuff separate. If I want to gamble with real money, I should be getting real money in return. If I want to gamble for in-game stuff, I should be using in-game currency that is obtainable only in game. Crossover is where stuff gets bad

    math on 6:00 is wrong
    it should be times 0.00005 not 0.5
    0.5 is 50%, 0.0005 is 0,5%

    The math you used for the stats isn't quite right. Using the binomial distribution to determine probability of getting 2 keys, you should of used a cumulative density function (cdf) for getting 2 or less keys before applying your significance test. Your point still stands (as the expected value is a useful metric here).

    6:00 Not sure if anyone else pointed it out but you shouldn't just look at the probability of exactly 2 positive results, you should consider the probability of 2 results or fewer, since any one single outcome is relatively unlikely, That being said, in this case it doesn't really affect the probability too much as the odds of receiving 2, 1 or 0 drops only brings the total up to 0.00042%, up from 0.00037%
