3 arrested in Bolton after number of thefts

Four Greater Manchester Police staff dismissed for key jamming

Officers attended an address in Astley Bridge this afternoon, December 21 to arrest two men, aged 57 and 40, and a 47-year-old woman on suspicion of theft offences.

All three were arrested in relation to a theft from a car in Halliwell that took place “overnight”.

The 40-year-old was additionally arrested on suspicion of residential burglaries and “vehicle interferences” in Halliwell on Friday morning, as well as on suspicion of absconding from prison.

All three are in police custody.

A spokesperson for Bolton Police said: “Three people have been arrested following thefts in Bolton.

“This afternoon, Sunday, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team attended an address in Astley Bridge in relation to a theft from a car that occurred overnight in Halliwell.

“PC Eagleton arrested a 57-year-old man, 57-year-old woman and 40-year-old man on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

“The 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of residential burglaries and vehicle interferences in the Halliwell area following a number of reports made to Greater Manchester Police on Friday morning.

“He has also been arrested for absconding from prison. All three remain in police custody for questioning.”
