Police car involved in crash on Medomsley Road, Consett
At about 7pm on Saturday (December 21), a Durham police vehicle collided with a car at the crossroads between Medomsley Road and John Street, Consett.
It’s understood that the police vehicle was travelling on blue lights at the time of the incident.
The police officer was taken to hospital for a mild concussion before being released, while the driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
A spokesperson for Durham police said: “At approximately 7pm on Saturday (December 21), a Durham Constabulary vehicle was involved in a collision with a private car at the crossroads between Medomsley Road and John Street, in Consett, while the police car was travelling on blue lights.
“The driver of the private car was uninjured, but the officer was treated in hospital for a slight concussion before being released.”
